Guest Reviews
- Craig (10/5): Very lovely stay. - Location was very good, easily accessible
Our accommodation was beautiful and the decor amazing
Breakfast was delicious and very nicely presented
The hosts were amazing and we enjoyed hearing more about the area.
- Doria (10/5): We’ll be back!!! - The location and Victorian Style house which was very well decorated!!
- ALAN (8/5): - A hot, served breakfast.
Comfortable bed. Slow drains.
- Alexander (9/5): Lovely B&B, perfect location if you are getting the ferry to PEI. - Elizabeth and Glenn were really welcoming, the house is lovely and we really enjoyed having the living area to relax in of an evening. Bed was comfortable, shower was good and breakfast was good too. Great location for getting the ferry to PEI.
- Horst (10/5): -
- Thomas (7/5): gut, aber Luft nach oben - großes Zimmer, gute Lage, schönes Haus -breakfast was too „poor“, no toast, no marmelade etc,
- Jeff (10/5): An elegant and charming classic old house set up as a great place to stay. - This is a historic building that is set up for modern comfort in a early 20th century style. The decor and facilities are charming yet highly functional. The staff is lovely and very informative. The breakfast is hearty and served in an elegant room. They have safety features including a night light in the bathroom which is not always a given in places like this. This isn’t so much something I didn’t like, but more just something to be aware of. The stairs are steep in a style that I remember from old farm houses built around 1900. Those with balance issues or painful knees beware.
- Robert (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - Friendly hosts and guests Nothing
- Kim (8/5): -
- Renee-Claude (10/5): Sûrement le meilleur endroit où séjourner à Pictou! - Le confort et les détails du décor ainsi que le petit déjeuner.
- Marina (10/5): Highly recommended - Beautiful B&B in walking distance to restaurants in beautiful Pictou. Lovely rooms furnished with great love to detail. The hosts were amazing and were very accommodating for my late breakfast plans. I loved meeting their lovely dog, Cassie.
Pictou is a quiet place in a sleepy town. If you are looking for action and party, this place isn't for you. If you are looking for a place to relax, however, then this is just the right spot. NA
- desmond (10/5): It was a lovely stay, wish we could have stayed longer - Beautiful property, the hosts were friendly and helpful.
Our room, Aloha, was incredibly themed.
Breakfast was lovely. Everywhere was spotless.Thank you Can't think of anything
- Linda (10/5): Lovely stay! - I liked the quiet, friendly atmosphere, the comfortable bed, the overall cleanliness, and the delicious breakfast.
- OLENA (10/5): We like this charming old, perfectly located house - We like this charming old, perfectly located house. But the main asset is our hostess, Elizabeth. She made you feel at home and welcome there. The house is spotless, and the breakfast is the best we had during our trip to Nova Scotia and PEI Nothing
- Cathy (10/5): Amazing B&B - The Seabank house is truly beautiful. As soon as you enter, you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and the furniture is incredible. Liz and Glenn, the hosts, are the best! Nothing🤗
- Lou (10/5): A wonderful stay at a historical B&B! - The hosts, Elizabeth and Glenn were extremely accommodating and responded immediately to our requests. My husband and I highly recommend the Seabank House to anyone visiting Pictou. We would definitely stay here if visiting Pictou again!!
- J (9/5): -
- James (10/5): Number one Canadian B and B in our view. - Pretty well everything.
- Eileen (10/5): - Breakfast was fab, house was so gorgeous, great location easy walking distance to everything in town, hosts were welcoming. Would definitely stay again if we return to Pictou.
- Paul (10/5): Very much recommended! - Very friendly owners.
Perfect location and ambiance
Best breakfast of our whole vacation!
- Monika (10/5): A B&B at its best ! - Beautiful home that was renovated with integrity to its heritage by its recent owners Glenn and Elizabeth who are excellent hosts. Very clean comfortable rooms . We stayed there twice on our trip to and then again back from PEI and loved it both times. There was nothing to dislike
- Monika (10/5): Will stay there again - Nice newly renovated home. Very good parking and Glenn is an excellent host. Room was a bit small
- Laura Jane (10/5): Lovely place to explore Pictou from! - Elizabeth & Glenn have put so much work into making the house comfortable and useable- the breakfast was made from scratch every morning- they fed us earlier than usual when we needed to leave earlier- and the rooms had everything we needed.
- Sheree (8/5): -
- Donalda (10/5): An interesting, historically - connected house with its spacious interior and themed bedrooms. - Well situated with a commanding view of the harbour Nothing
- Diane (10/5): A beautiful house with friendly helpful hosts and a satisfying breakfast. - A house with history, wonderfully decorated, comfortable and situated a very short walk from restaurants in Pictou.
The owners were very friendly and the breakfast excellent. Tea and coffee was available during the stay in the dining room (self serve) and the rooms cater for small items that may have been forgotten, e.g. razors, mouthwash, tissues.
Bottles of water were also available for each guest in the rooms. Nothing major. I found the pillows on the bed a little firm but that is a personal preference.
- Anna (6/5): Pleasant - We did not find our hosts welcoming or overly friendly.
It was a job for them, not a passion.
- Kristin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Don (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisette (10/5): Beautiful Victorian Stately House Stay - What a lovely experience staying at this beautiful Victorian stately home in charming Pictou.
The kind owners showed so much care and pride for their property and we loved interacting with them, and other guests, which we enjoyed so much. It was wonderful to learn how they transformed this wonderful, quiet, place. There is free parking onsite.
We chose this accommodation on our way to Cape Breton and it couldn’t have been an easier drive from Halifax International Airport. We loved the maritime themed room, but any of the them would have been wonderful.
The breakfast was out of this world! Served in the dining room on fine china and tablecloths, the Eggs Bennie were amazing!
We can additionally really recommend the Waterview Restaurant in town, it had great food!
We found the location so convenient for our road trip to Cape Breton.
Thank you very much for your hospitality! And all the best of success this holiday season.
- Linda (9/5): Great accommodation in historic home. Breakfast best of our travels! - Spacious accommodation & owners were very friendly & helpful. Older historic home beautifully updated. Breakfast was individually cooked & exceptional. No complaints.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Nicky (10/5): What a wonderful BnB. This is one of the best BnBs I’ve stayed in. Delicious breakfast, wonderful people, comfortable be - One of the best Bnb’s I’ve ever stayed in.
Delicious breakfast, welcoming, comfortable beds
- Brian (10/5): Historic Gem in downtown Pictou - Beautifully restored historic home with themed rooms. Very comfortable. Our hosts were warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

- Mcneil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - This place is "simply amazing". The details on the decoration, the bed is super comfortable, the owners are super kind and the love put on the make of the breakfast is remarkable. What an experience.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Drmary (9/5): Nice place, friendly owners, good location - Good location for Pictou although limited options for restaurants certainly at the end of the season ( September) bit of confusion over vegetarian breakfast which resulted in my option being toast
- John (9/5): Good location with friendly owners and the breakfast was excellent. - The location was very good. The town is small and the room was close to everything we wanted to do. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was excellent. The breakfast was made to order and was very good. For me, the bed was too soft. Other than that, the room was very clean. This was in an old historic house and was what I was expecting when we booked.
- David (8/5): Very good - The home looks just like the photos. The breakfast was good and we had a great conversation with another couple during breakfast. You get a lot for the price. A clean accommodation and a good breakfast with lots of coffee! Easy free parking.
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing.
- Hersey (10/5): Exceptional - Great breakfast and hospitality!
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (9/5): Great place for a short stay! - We stayed in the Aloha room of this B&B that has a double bed with ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The room is at the back of the house and was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice and the place was really clean. The breakfast was great and was customized for each client. The eggs Benedict, fruit and yogurt were excellent. The wi-fi is good and is included. It's an easy walk to the local restaurants. This room is small and there is no cupboard or hooks to hang clothes.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly welcoming and very comfortable. And excellent breakfast.
- Gerard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefanie (10/5): Exceptional - Very lovely accommodation, with warm host. Really good Breakfast. This is accommodation I would recommend! The Host is really great and warm. It would be nice do change the old carpets in front of bed.
- Louise (7/5): Clean and breakfast was great - Clean Tv would have been nice
- Ken (5/5): Meh - We were greeted warmly. The old house has attractive character and the owner takes an interest in its history. I enjoyed noticing an owner feeding peanuts to blue jays and two deer walked across the adjacent lawn. The hosts are personable. I found the bed uncomfortable, a two inch foamy on a hard sprung mattress. Breakfast except for the fruit cup kind of bombed. The bacon and sausage seemed to have been cooked some time ago. The host wants guests to dine in a one hour time slot and be out of their room by ten. There were dozens of Keurig decaf and no regular ones in the self-serve area and they were unaware of this. There was no place to put waste in the eating area. Spoons to stir self-serve coffee were missing. The pancakes were served without a butter option and with a syrup that seemed to be dilute molasses. Our room had an odd sort of "Hawaiian" theme but it would have been better left plain! The front steps needed some TLC as did the entry garden area. Maybe we had been spoiled because we had just come from three awesome heritage home BnB's within a day's drive.
- Richards (10/5): Exceptional - "We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Seabank House, a stunning venue on Saturday night, as we were attending a wedding in town. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sheer beauty and elegance of the place. The old New World style decor was tastefully done, making us feel like royalty - literally, like a Queen and King!
Every detail was meticulously thought out, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The perfect blend of classic charm and modern amenities made our stay truly unforgettable.
But what really made our stay stand out was the exceptional service and hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met, making us feel like true VIPs.
If you're looking for a place to stay that will make you feel like royalty, look no further! This venue is truly fit for a Queen (and king). We can't wait to come back and experience it all again."
- Margie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional east coast bed and breakfast , recommend an extended stay to experience Pictou - Perfect place For extended stay (4 nights !)

The hosts Elizabeth and Glenn were welcoming and went beyond the expected to make our stay comfortable and fun . The rooms were exceptional, comfortable beds and bathroom and breakfast was wonderful . A comfortable living room and close to town for restaurants and sightseeing. I’m glad we had a multiple

- Anne (10/5): Wonderful stay - Spacious comfortable clean room, excellent breakfast. Glenn and Elizabeth are great hosts.
Would highly recommend this place. Nothing
- Gail (10/5): Perfect, I would say! - This large home has been tastefully decorated to honour its historic charm. My room was well lit and quiet. I chose to open the screened window rather than use the heat pump provided, which is a nice option. I slept well on a high quality mattress. Self serve tea and coffee is available anytime. Ensuite bathroom is lovely - all amenities provided. The entire home is wonderfully clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was made to order: lovely fruit salad with yogurt and perfectly prepared omelette. I have no complaints or concerns.
- Lars (8/5): Very good - This is a beautiful historic home. Lovely rooms and furniture. We only met Glenn and he was friendly and helpful.

- Paul (9/5): Superb - The room was clean and wonderful. It was a great value and if I return I would stay there again. It didn't have an air conditioner in the room and no TV but that was okay because not all B&B's have TVs.
- Katherine (10/5): Lovely home, great hostess - Beautiful decor Had to tote suitcase up flight of stairs
- James (9/5): Superb -

- Wendy (10/5): Loved it so much, we went back to stay there again - The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was exceptional. Wonderful location near the harbor.
- Gillian (10/5): Welcoming, relaxed, immaculate and homely - Made to feel very welcome by Glenn & Elizabeth. They helped us in our planning of the next leg of our adventure. Beautiful home & we felt at home. Room & house Immaculate. Excellent breakfast, including teapot 😂 . Great to have hosts who chat & have a sense of humour. Not imposing but there if needed. Nothing
- Marie (9/5): lovely stay at a cozy place - very cozy building. Lots of attention to detail in the decoration, to little items in the washroom like a loofa, mouthwash, shampoo, and body wash. The common area was very cozy and comfortable with reading material, information about the area There was a used razor in the washroom. Since it is an older building the doors were a little louder, and the steps cracked. Perfectly normal, I just felt like I was loud, and hope I didn't disturb other guests when coming in late at night.
- Julie (10/5): Lovely hosts, good breakfast in a beautiful home. - It’s the most beautiful house with a gorgeous staircase and stained glass window.
- Marilyn (10/5): The hosts were exceptional and I loved my stay. - Beautifully decorated.
Very warm and welcoming.
Comfortable bed.
Nice to have my own bathroom. Nothing. It was great!
- Irvine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doug (8/5): Very good -
- Larry (10/5): would stay at Seabank again in a heartbeat - THERE was not anything to dislike........ a few too many steps, but that goes with the property.....an old, but distinguished and historic girl she was.....
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional - a lovely fresh breakfast
- Karen (10/5): Lovely stay at this historic B&B - Wonderful hosts! Delightful, historic home in this gem of an old town where history abounds and close coastal scenery is just minutes away. We took a lovely drive to Cape George Point and back stopping at each park and historic marking. Lovely. This was after a plentiful and delicious breakfast at this quaint B&B. Highly recommend! No complaints!
- Carol (10/5): Great place for a one-night stop; also great for checking out the history and crafts of Pictou. - My room was very pretty and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
