Guest Reviews
- YANGMING (8/5): - Lovely home-like accommodation. Would be great if one love historic buildings. Nearly everything is fine, except for the central air-conditioning and a bit overcrowding ornaments. One more thing, the noise would be just fine even if you open the inner layer of the window (in my case), they have an external layer, enough to prevent the noise. The central air-conditioning is almost useless, though portable AC and fan provided by Vaquay can make it up, just remember to switch to FAN mode.
- Iwona (7/5): Enjoyed stay in that tiny apartment right in the centre of Melbourne. - Location is awesome. Very close to everything in the centre of Melbourne.
Very nice decor.
Apartment is tiny, but very clean.
Coffee machine with capsules. Tea bag supplied.
Small amount of shower gel and shampoo, would need to get more supply if staying longer than 3 nights. Picking up keys from the EZY mart was a nuisance.
It was great that we could open the window but there was no fly screen in the window- was bitten by mosquitoes overnight. Needed to open window as it was very hot with no ability to adjust aircon. It was 39 degrees outside during g the day.
- Natalie (7/5): Would be absolutely amazing if only there was a blind on the window - The location is fabulous, close to eateries and attractions and the heritage building is lovely. The apartment is nice and quiet, safe and secure and clean. The bed was very comfy and the apartment well appointed (with the exception of window coverings). I didn't cook but there were great facilities to do so and it seemed to have a great range of kitchen implements.
Instructions to collect the keys and find the apartment were very clear.
This apartment would certainly be my new favourite place to stay in Melbourne if it only had a blind on the window. There are no window coverings on the window, not even a cheap roller blind. This means that with the lights on inside at night everyone can see straight in, but worse than that, the city lights at night, and then the sun in the morning blares in when trying to sleep. It is never fully dark in the bedroom area which made a decent sleep very tricky if you are used to a dark (or even semi-dark) room. This is not only annoying but actually breaches the Victorian Residential Tenancy Act minimum standards meaning that it would be illegal to actually rent the apartment in its current condition to tenants. Adding a cheap blind to this apartment would be a game changer and make a stay here really amazing. I travel extensively for work and this apartment would very quickly become my new favourite and regular go to when visiting Melbourne if only there was a simple window covering.
Not a biggy but unexpected was that there was not a tissue box provided which is normally standard in most accommodations I am used to staying in.
There are many 'guides' as to how to do everything however the one about rubbish needs updating as the rubbish shute says to use the recycling room in the building but there was no info as to where that is or how to get there. I ended up taking my recycling with me and depositing it elsewhere.
