• Monica (1/5): - Our flight canceled and we announced we'll arrive the next day and asked if the 1st day fee can be waived. We received a response in Spanish, very vague, and we were charged the full price upon arrival. Pretty expensive, and the fact that we were charged for a day we were not there it was very unpleasant, and especially since it wasn't our fault and we also announced our flight canceled because of plane issues.

La habitación estaba limpia y muy cómoda. Reserve este hotel por su ubicación, la piscina y por tener la habitación con balcón. Cuando llegamos no habían habitaciones con balcón disponible a pesar que en booking todavía decía que si. La piscina la están remodelando asique todo el jardín y la piscina están fuera de uso. Tuve que discutir para que me devolvieran la diferencia de la tarifa (habitación con balcón o sin balcón) de unos 50 dólares. Y me pidieron que cancelara mi reserva por booking porque ya no estaba pagando la habitación más cara, que por culpa de ellos no estaba disponible. El desayuno en más o menos, la última noche nos teníamos que ir a las 7 am, a la hora que empieza el desayuno y ni siquiera nos dieron un café porque todavía no era la hora.

A notre arrivée à 15h, la réceptionniste nous a fait croire que la chambre qu'on nous avait attribuée n'était pas calme, alors qu'on l'avait demandé. Du coup, ils nous ont proposé une chambre, soit disant très calme, mais dans un autre hôtel de la rue. Sauf que cet hôtel était beaucoup moins agréable, et la chambre sentait l'humidité! Sentant l'arnaque, nous avons dû râler, et perdu beaucoup de temps. Finalement, ils nous ont attribué une chambre dans un autre hôtel du quartier de catégorie équivalente. Beaucoup de tracasseries. Nous aurions apprécié, à notre arrivée, qu'ils nous disent que l'hôtel, malgré notre réservation sur Booking était complet, plutôt que nous prendre pour des idiots !!

• Thomas (7/5): Hat nicht unbedingt unsere Erwartungen erfüllt - Die Lage Das Zimmer geht zum Innenhof, d.h. die Vorhänge am Fenster bleiben geschlossen, damit man nicht reinsehen kann, sodass man sich in einem Zimmer praktisch ohne Fenster aufhält. Bis 23.00 gibt es im Innenhof life music, die im Zimmer sehr gut hörbar ist (davor kann man kaum einschlafen). Die Duschwände sind unten undicht, sodass beim Duschen Wasser auf den Boden im Bad fliesst und ihn sehr rutschig macht. Das Zimmer hat keine Schränke, sondern nur einen Kleiderständer, an dem man die Kleider am Bügel aufhängen kann. Dieser war jedoch sehr instabil und ist ein paar Mal auseinandergefallen.

Great location and good vibe. No closet space. Had to leave luggage and items packed as we did not have a place to store and/or hung clothes. Asked for water puddle to be cleaned and never did during our entire stay. Were locked out the first night. DOOR COMPLETELY CLOSED and a guest had to open the door. No one was around and it was pretty scary. Waited outside for several minutes. This is around 12:30 am. Breakfast was fair with croissants not being available until after 10:00 am. Left one night early.

Eles publicam via booking um quarto e permitem reserva mas vendem este quarto reservado por preço maior e oferecem Outro em Hotel que fica em Frente ( AQUAMARINA). Foi isso que aconteceu Comigo. Ao Não aceitar essa Possibilidade( hospedar-me em Hotel e quarto não reservado via booking, a funcionária do check in ainda sugeriu que eu cancelasse minha reserva para fazê-la diretamente com o hotel. Percebendo a astúcia do El Marques, neguei também. Foi aí que está funcionária do check in, orientada pela manager que se recusou a vir falar comigo ao telefone, sugeriu que eu fosse almoçar e que tudo, em 1 Hora, seria resolvido. Fui almoçar. Ao retornar ao hotel, percebi que as fotos da suíte que eu havia reservado não eram mais aquelas do quarto que eu havia reservado, ou seja, modificaram as fotos no BOOKING para se ter uma ( falsa) aparência de normalidade no quarto agora oferecido. Não aceitei ficar no quarto ( com duas camas num mesmo espaço, ao contrário do por mim reservado que havia 2 andares), mas ainda assim, o hotel nada fez. Resultado: em pleno carnaval em Cartagena, fiquei sem Possibilidade de reservar qualquer outro hotel, e fui obrigado a Me Hospedar em quarto diferente do Que havia reservado… um desrespeito ao consumidor, inaceitável! Fiz denúncia ao booking que até o momento sequer me contatou também.. oferecer-me um jantar que não compensou a imensa frustração que senti com minha família, em cidade que não dispõe de defesa do Consumidor. Vou buscar na justiça a justa reparação a Que tenho direito. CUIDADO COM ESSE HOTEL!

Porém o que fica BEM A DESEJAR é o café da manhã, além de ser lá carte, poucas opções e o pior, sem opção de repetir! Isso achei bem ruim. Porque é uma diária cara para não ter um café da manhã apropriado para o hotel. A comida é deliciosa, porém muito limitado e não opção de repetir. O resto é maravilhoso.

• Marie (4/5): Over promised and under delivered in a beautiful building - An interesting stay in what is an incredibly beautiful and historic building in the heart of the walled city. The location is excellent. We were shown to our incredible room, with two double beds and the best aircon ever - housekeeping did an excellent job and the soundproofing was a godsend in the noisy evenings. The breakfast was okay. The fruit provided is not generous, but presented nicely and tasted fine. The two mini croissants per person were nice enough. The consistency in the omelettes varied - eg one day they were clearly short of eggs as they were half the size of the other days. They still tasted nice and the coffee was decent and plentiful. Choice felt very limited. This was the final destination in our Colombian honeymoon - we didn’t use enjoy it but felt misled and that’s a shame. There was a strange feeling about the place …a kinda half-lived in feeling that we couldn’t quite put our finger on. The bar - completely empty save one lonely champagne bottle placed in the middle. It was more of a staff meeting area than anything else. The restaurant - if you can call it that - non-existent in terms of meals other than breakfast. The photos and description give the impression of meals being available in the courtyard area and their Happy Wine section being a haven of social activity. The truth is that there are no meals or snacks available outwith breakfast. And the Happy Wine area has two tables laid for breakfast if you can’t cope with the incredible heat in their courtyard area. The public areas around the place felt almost abandoned at times. We were advised on arrival of a refreshment table containing a glass flask of cold water, glasses, a hot water flask, some teas and biscuits as well as a few pieces of fruit. How excellent, we thought. This area is beautiful and overlooked the courtyard. Strangely, as each day passed, the offerings reduced - until on the third and fourth evenings there was no cold water provided at all and only biscuit crumbs on the tray. When we enquired about this we were told that staff are asked to remove the water it in the early evening. Why? It just felt very mean and not hospitable. We didn’t use the pool as there was a layer of scum at the surface of the water that remained for our full stay. Whilst checking out, we were incredulous when trying to pay for one bottle of water we used from the minibar - they had absolutely no cash with which to give us change. In the end, we used a card for an amount of around £1. It seemed they over-promised and under-delivered. There’s no doubt it’s a special house, and if the photos are to be believed, was once a beautifully cared for hotel. I’ve read some responses to recent reviews suggesting a renovation - there was zero evidence of this during our stay.
• Josué (5/5): Lots of potential, decent accommodations, but it seems poorly managed or under renovation. - Location was great! Breakfast was decent; not memorable, basic I'll say. Staff was nice and attentive. The place appears to be under maintenance. The internal patio was messy and dirty, paint washed away from the walls, the room door wouldn’t close easily, the shower door had no handle, and the shower sprayed water everywhere. They didn’t have Coca-Cola or cinnamon for my wife’s cappuccino. They seemed to offer only the basics.

There were no facilities, e.g. the bar area was closed as seemingly the restaurant Breakfast was sparse and not very good. A few dry pieces of bread and thinly sliced fruit. Totally unimpressive for alleged caliber of boutique hotel. Overall, the cost of hotel was high for the services provided. The manager did change us to a sister hotel, however no difference in price was offered, just a "free" massage

Loved the historic building Our first room was very small and we asked for a bigger room which they gave us for the same price. Our second room was much bigger. We don't know if many of the rooms were small but it's best to look at the room online if you can just make sure you have enough space. The shower in our room would fill up with a lot of water and Escape into the main bathroom a little bit.

• Anand (10/5): A great Boutique hotel with fantastic staff! - This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Located in old town and on a nice quiet street but within 3 minute walking to all the main attractions. Also within a5 minute area are some amazing restaurants. The most amazing part of this hotel is their staff. Right from arriving Ricardo at the reception, Isabella at the restaurant serving us breakfast, the lady (Eileen) at the bar and the lady who cleaned the room. We loved the warmth showed by the team. Everything was spot on including the 4 AM taxi to the airport. This is a great hotel and has lots of history and character. The hotel also has a boutique wine store that does amazing tapas and wine. We did a lunch at the Happy Wine store and it was totally worth it. We look forward to staying here the next time in Cartagena.
• Brent (10/5): Fantastic property that I would absolutely visit again - There was a lot to like! The historic building that houses the hotel is interesting and charming, the staff was extraordinary and very attentive, the restaurant and bar were both excellent, the hotel's location is perfect, and it was a surprisingly good value too The hot water in my suite didn't work the first day, which was resolved. With no formal front desk it wasn't clear at first that the bar staff doubles as hotel staff. Also the building was built in the 1700's so no elevator, of course.

• George (9/5): A quant place in the center of what Cartagena has to offer. - Friendly, attentive and helpful. Especially the woman assisting us with check in /out. Played the role of tour guide and local expert. Great experience! Check in times could improve with less WiFi and connectivity's issues.
• Brad (10/5): A great hotel with personalized service and located close to everything you could need. - We love that the location was in the historic district and was centrally located to everything we needed, shopping, food, experience. Personally, the fact that there were three air conditioners in the space was absolutely great to have during the hot days. The only thing I could complain about is that the Wi-Fi is not that great in the room we were staying, probably because we were farther away from the router. That said, it wasn’t an issue. We spent time together and enjoyed an amazing experience at this hotel. We will definitely look here first in our next trip to Cartagena.

• Erin (6/5): Pleasant - Air conditioning in the room was great. Slow breakfast service. Rooms close proximity to the dining area meant the live music was loud but often stopped by 10:00 or 10:30 pm. The open dining area had biting bugs- I left covered in bug bites.

• Andrea (4/5): We left as we saw our room - the property itself is beautiful and has kept its original charm. it’s not an hotel with a restaurant but more a restaurant with rooms. the rooms are extremely dark and not private. we have been out at the ground floor and had people walking outside our door to go to the restaurant toilet. we cancelled our stay before time and changed the hotel.
