Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): Thank you so much for allowing us to stay. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely be back ve - We were met by Stephane who showed us through the property and answered all of our questions. Nothing. The house is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need for a great weekend away.
- Ross (10/5): Relaxing weekend in a quiet sanctuary. Close to wineries yet a perfect home for our group of 6 adults to relax and enjoy - Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful and the home well equipped with thoughtful additions throughout.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dee (9/5): Relaxing, gorgeous, comfortable - The house is beautiful, well stocked for wood for fireplace. Truely peaceful and relaxing. Just gorgeous Advertised 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms… assumed would be ensuite for each room, but there is 2 bathrooms and one bedroom downstairs, and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs…. Could be made clearer, it’s not ensuites but shared bathrooms
- Jeni (9/5): Perfect spot to catch up with friends and family and make the most of the beautiful Hunter Valley! - This is stunning heritage style property set in very well-tended and designed gardens. The surrounding land is beautiful and it's obvious a lot of care and attention has gone into the property. Stephan was there to meet us and take us through the property and talk about the history, which was fascinating. Great location for getting supplies from Cessnock and in easy reach of many of the hunter's wineries and cellar doors. A fantastic location! The house has pretty much everything you'd need for a weekend or week stay. I really liked that there were enough bathrooms that basically every couple/room had their own. Nothing - our stay was excellent.
- Kelly (10/5): Would highly recommend this property and will be back again for another stay! - Everything the house was amazing and the gardens were great. Stephan was very accommodating & showed us around when we arrived. Nothing.
- Warrick (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (10/5): Beautiful characterful house in amazing grounds and within walking distance of several vineyards in the Hunter Valley. - We loved the characterful use of reclaimed timbers, stones and other features of the beautiful house, the magnificent gardens with kangaroos coming to graze, outside meals under the grapevine bower and relaxing by the pool. Everything was just perfect
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - The house was so accommodating. We loved there was no TV set up downstairs. It was all about relaxing, connecting, and enjoying the time there. Nothing
- Colleen (9/5): Superb - The house was everything we asked for. Location. Fire, inside and out. Super comfy beds. Clean and welcoming.
- Amber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thea (9/5): Hunter Haven - Beautiful character-filled home, gorgeous gardens and convenient location. Hosts were really welcoming and the home was thoughtfully appointed with the items required for a comfortable stay. No negatives
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Adelle (10/5): cozy and beautiful - everything! the beds were all so comfortable and warm! the main meeting area with the fire place was so cozy at night. the hosts had plenty of board games for us to play. This accomodation is great for large groups as there is heaps of space to move around and it is such a stunning property with heaps to see! Stephan and Karen were amazing hosts and there if you needed anything. the accomodation is about 5 Cessnock town centre which had shops and grocers so really convenient and only about 5-10mins from the hunter alley gardens. I highly recommend booking this accommodation! I can’t forget to mention bluey the dog who greeted us as we arrived for cuddles and pats ! I will definitely be staying here again!
- Patricia (8/5): Great family getaway - Private and well-appointed with beautiful surroundings - Beautiful and unique home = well equipped and comfortable - nice and private surrounds Booking.com description insinuates that each bedroom has its own ensuite hence I decided to book here instead of Villa Legato- false advertising - 3 couples but 2 of the bedrooms upstairs have to share one bathroom. 3rd bathroom is downstairs in laundry room. Privacy in main bedroom downstairs is an issue as everyone from upstairs walks past the master bedroom door that is see-through due to coloured glass - also anyone in the kitchen can peer in - hard to feel at ease without privacy (perhaps a retractable blind inside coloured glass area?) ... also, the stairs are very narrow with hand rail on the left coming down .... quite unsafe and both sons with big feet had a fall coming downstairs - one ended up at Cessnock Hospital Emergency for X-Rays - all 4 people upstairs complained they felt unsafe coming down those stairs - the hot water system was inadequate for 6 people ... when showers taken together, the upstairs bathroom had no hot water - very unpleasant and uncomfortable and simply unacceptable for a property of this caliber and what is charged. More TVs would be a good idea perhaps one in each bedroom and a large one in the lounge room near fireplace
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely loved the accomodation, every piece of furniture has a story behind it which makes the place have a very special feel. The highlight for us was sitting by the fireplace with some whine and having breakfast under the vines.
Stephan was a lovely host and very quick to answer any of our questions. He gave us a tour of the house upon arrival and was very kind to leave us some south african wine as a gift for the weekend.
The property is absolutely gorgeous and the best way to enjoy some relaxing time with family and friends! I would 100% recommend the property and would absolutely come back!
