- Tobiki (3/5): Great view, really bad apartment. - Great spot 1st line at the beach, great view.
This review really has to be split in 2 parts:
1) The positive: we originally had booked a different flat, but a storm broke a balcony window at 7pm. Since the original agency had no different flat available, we booked a hotel room for the night & this flat for entry next day. The agency because of the unfortunate situation provided us with early access at no extra charge that day. The flat itself is located in a convenient spot and 1st row at the beach, so far, so great! 2) The negative: The flat its in REALLY bad shape:
overall not very clean, rather old equipment and not well taken care of by the owners.
Room by room letdowns:
- bathroom: window broken, can't be closed, and this for rather some time now. closely look at the advertisement's photos: behind the curtain you can spot the string used to keep the remaining window panels to fall apart. Shower very greasy, shower hose leaking. Toilet is not properly screwed to the floor.
- guest toilet: water hoses leak and carry some mm's of rust/sulfate crystals(?), so are leaking for rather years than just weeks or months.
- kitchen: hot water knob comes off, has to literally be screwed on by the user (like the crown on a diver's watch) after use. Cutlery is in bad shape, partly carries rust(!)
- bedrooms: mattresses are worn & of cheapest quality, really a challenge for 10 days.
- dirty: we travelled with a dog, so were aware we have to ourselves will have to take the broom each day, but we did not expect to for multiple days brush out really some old dirt..
- no Wifi available
Windows are not well insulated/ sealed (which is not too uncommon, but also here overall shape of the apartment not being taken care of shows well), so the flat became a quite chilly place around this easter. The heater provided was not working, here I have to say the agency was fast and provided an alternative heater within an hour, thanks for this.
Overall this flat has great potential. When it was new, it certainly was a gem! Spacious, well cut layout, great location, but now really in bad shape.
It was our only alternative due to the described situation, so we stayed, but is far worth from the €145/ night we paid.
