Norbert (10/5): THE accomodation for your trips to explore the nature of Perija Mountains! - Very nice accomodation. Good site to explore Paramo. In easy 40 minutes drive you are close to access to Paramo - you need 4x4 for the next 40 minutes to reach the top (or hike 1 hour). We enjoyed a modern hut with view into the garden and many birds on eye-level. This is the place for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The owner is very helpful with information and offeres assistance - even involving translating efforts. Quiet, but avoid weekends -also because of traffic on narrow road up. Highly recommended! You don´t need to stay in the cold higher up... Restaurant was not available, but senior in charge showed us a good and local one at Manaure. There is also a small supermarket to stock up. We got up very early and enjoyed a small kitchen with refrigerator and coffee mashine with very good Colombian coffee supplied.
