Breakfasts were very good and the location was exceptional, just inside the old walls of the city. Good private parking and a peaceful garden to enjoy. A lot of restaurants and possibility to explore the old town within easy walking distance.

It really is a beautiful place, inside the Guerande city walls with parking for the car in the garden. Good breakfast in the conservatory, with the gardens outside. This really is one of the best stays that we've had in France over many years, and first one I've given a "10" to. Reviews like this, we'll never be able to get a reservation in future!

• Dan (10/5): This MUST be the best place to stay in Guérande! - This beautiful 19th building is in a quiet and peaceful location, just inside the town walls. Our "room" was amazing! We had "Chambre Rouge" on the second floor (called the first floor in France), which consisted of a large bedroom, a large separate bathroom with tub and a sink on each side of the room, a separate room with toilet and a large sitting room with tv at the other end of the floor. In other words, our living area spanned the whole width of the house, with the bedroom window facing the garden/parking area, and sitting room window facing the main street. The breakfast was fantastic and well worth the money. Camille even surprised us with French toast (along with everything else), on our second day. The free private parking on the property was perfect for entering and leaving the walled town, although we spent our first day just strolling the streets. Camille gave us perfect dinner recommendations for both nights. If you are ever in Guérande, you must have dinner at La P'tite Franquette! Thank you Camille and Philippe! Everything was great!

If we were being picky we’d say the bath was very difficult to get in and out of due to a beautiful original wooden beam restricting access. There was no privacy when using the toilet as the door was mainly wire with a curtain overlay.

Our hosts could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Excellent location, right in the centre of Guerande within easy walking distance of all that the beautiful Town has to offer. Not a lot of sound proofing between our bedroom (the jeaune room) and the toilet, so perhaps not the best room to choose if you want to preserve your modesty on the loo! But, otherwise, a beautiful room!

Unfortunately our visit coincided with a heat wave (30+). The lack of air conditioning was very marked, so too was the fact that the duvet was still of winter quality. In normal circumstances these are minor issues but should be noted.

The optional breakfast is very good- breads, cheese, ham, conserves, cake, fromage frais, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice and a choice of hot drinks. The public areas are very comfortable and the garden is available to guests. There is a good WiFi service.

The room was reasonably sized, had a tasteful décor, very clean and had great views. Service was exceptional and very accommodating (could communicate French and English) throughout the stay. Cannot stress enough how beautiful the whole building (and its décor throughout) is and what amazing atmosphere it has! No negatives that I could think of. Maybe a heads-up that my room had bathtub shower arrangement and not a conventional "standing shower" space, meaning it's slightly different (not a negative really!).
