Guest Reviews
- Ewa (10/5): Pobyt bardzo udany. Przy kolejnej wizycie skorzystałabym ponownie z tego apartamentu . - Klimatyczny apartament , łączący piękno konstrukcyjne z funkcjonalnością. Ładnie urządzony i wyposażony. Położenie jest jego dodatkowym atutem . Pobliski park daje wytchnienie po dniu pełnym wrażeń . Widok na dachy i wody laguny dodatkowo zachęca na picie kawy przy otwartym oknie .

- Avotina (8/5): - Good location. Everything walkable. Very warm rooms. Washing machine didn't work, not big deal as we stayed only 2 nights, but it was leaking, paddle on floor all the time. Bathroom had bad smell, from pipes. Bed wasn't very comfortable.

- Edyta (8/5): Great apartment! - Great apartment! Clean and very well equipped. Communication with the owner was fantastic. Is located close to restaurants and shops. Bathroom shower needs more attention to clean.
- Marc Quinol (10/5): - L'appartement est situé dans un environnement comportant toutes les commodités. Il est agréable et chaleureux.
- Rylee (5/5): It was a relaxing home to come back to each time. - Everything about this place was beautiful and I would’ve definitely recommend it to people because of the view and look of the place itself. The beds had stains on them the first night we got there, the sheets weren’t changed and I woke up with a new bite on me every day, you had bed bugs and I’m currently in a lot of pain because they’re all itchy and red. Maybe just clean your sheets a bit yeah?

- John (9/5): The perfect apartment to enjoy the Biennale like a local - The Design District Apartment is a great space: it’s luminous, cozy, well furnished and with good appliances. It’s a full apartment that works great for a solo traveler or even for a small group of friends or a family. There’s a nice view and plenty of light, and it’s situated in a quiet courtyard so very calm.
The apartment has 3 open bedrooms (1 queen bed on the ground floor + 2 single beds on the upper mezzanine).
In terms of location, it’s absolutely perfect if you’re coming to Venice to focus on the Biennale, since it’s a 5mn walk to the Giardini exhibition space, and 10mn to the Arsenale one. It’s also a quieter / more local area of Venice, and great to access the less frequented gems like Santa Elena, San Giorgio Maggiore or the Lido. But it’s on the far east side of town, so it may be less practical if you want to be closer to the city center, like Rialto. Personally, I was glad to experience a new neighborhood. There are lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby (La Serra, Trattoria Dai Fioi).
The property manager was very kind, responsive and helpful! Perhaps I misunderstood when I booked but the apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevator and steep stairs, so not an easy climb with a big suitcase. It also means it’s not accessible for people with mobility issues or in a wheelchair.
Also, since the apartment is under the building roof, it’s very luminous but unfortunately the velux / skylight windows had automatic blinds that didn’t work, so the bedroom was very bright at first sign of dawn.
- Karolinf (9/5): Superb - Great property and location Check in was a bit complicated as someone has to meet you at the apartment to hand over the keys. Three different people contacted me to arrange this and to sell me tourist boat tours. It's a bit annoying that you have to specify an exact time for someone to meet you and they said they needed this at least two days in advance. Tricky when you don't know what traffic etc is going to be like. But once we had the keys everything was great
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (6/5): Not the best experience. Many defects, although the location was perfect. - The location was excellent. The weather was cold and there were no blankets just a thin sheet on the upstairs bed.
There was a small kitchen but no tea towel.
My daughter had brought along a few expensive wines and there were no wine glasses just thick glass tumblers
There was a smell from the bathroom area of sewage.
Paying for an extra night was extremely complicated and involved several text messages once I had made the transfer of money.
Three steep flights of very dirty stairs to reach the apartment. These should have been cleaned.
- Bianca (8/5): Very chic and bright apartment. The rest of the building (stairs) is dirty and disappointing. - I liked the spaces and all the services inside the apartment, the highness and the view. I didn't like the entrance of the palace, and the dirty stairs to reach the apartment. There is a mess in the small yard outside the palace, but above all the carpet along the last part of the stairs is very dirty. Another bad thing is that the walls of the apartment are very thin and during the night there were unpleasant noises from the apartment next to ours.
- Uri (8/5): Very nice place, perfect location. - A 2 minute walk from the water bus and the Biennale this is a superb location to explore the town. It has a wonderful view, enough space, and is quiet, but central. The kitchen could do with a few more basic amenities like a toaster, olive oil and tea. People complained about the stairs, which I didn’t mind at all, but for the elderly might be an issue.
- Justine (10/5): Relaxing Venice - The property is in a residential area, very peaceful, close to restaurants and shops, all a 5 minute walk. The Vaporetto, Giardi is a 5 minute walk. The apartment was very comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with a kettle, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a washing machine, we used the fridge and kettle. The bathroom was modern, the shower was fine once you got the temperature you wanted, there were plenty of towels. Shampoo and shower gel were complimentary, smelt lovely, conditioner would have been nice. The lounge had a table and chairs, a sofa and much to my Son's joy the TV had Netflix!! Beds were very comfortable, loved the dressing room off the main bedroom. Every morning at 8am the local Church bells sang out, it was a lovely way to wake up. It was about a 20 minute walk to San Marco, enroute you pass Arsenale, worth having a walk around, you pass The Bridge of Sighs, you have beautiful views of San Marco and San Maria Church, in the evening on this walk you can watch the sun go down, beautiful. Was a very relaxed trip, I think having no cars, traffic lights, e-scooters and bikes made it so. The 3 flights of stairs, I'm lazy, it was good exercise, it wouldn't stop me staying again though.
There is nothing to dislike.
- Alona (8/5): Cosy citybreak in brilliant location - Very stylish design apartment, enough space for 4 people. We found even coffee pot to make fresh coffee every morning. Location is brilliant, very close to vaporetto, supermarket and nearby restaurants. By the way we have got very good eating advices from the host. Upstairs 2 small separate rooms, each with bed, very good for people who like to sleep alone. Downstairs there is also wardrobe room to leave all your clothes and suitcases, iron also was there. The only thing we noticed is mold on the shower walls, for the rest we can't complaint
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (9/5): Will be booking this apartment again :) - Location is great. Very close to ferry stop and quiet streets. All good but maybe some carpets as the floors were cold.
- Sergiu (8/5): Good. - The flat was really nice. It was clean, quite spacious with good view, you could even see the sea. The beds were rather comfy. Kitchen is well equipped, everything you need was there. The location was good as well. Pretty close to all the main attractions, vaporetto stations, restaurants (cafe Majer serves great coffee and Nevodi PizzaLab makes amazing pizza to go) plus there’s a supermarket just around the corner. There were couple of things. First of all you need to take into consideration there are very steep stairs, it’s not a major concern, but be aware. Then we missed the ironing board, asked for it specifically but never got it, again not the big issue but if you stay for a week, you’d need to iron some of your clothes. The third and most disturbing thing was the bathroom. It was clean, comfortable and big enough, with white towels, but it was very stinky.
- Anna (9/5): we had a wonderful time. Nothing to fault - exceeded our expectations. - Great location and wonderful space for a family. Check in was very easy and the company accommodated all of our requests (organising water taxi and an extra day stay) quickly and easily. Nothing!
- Bernadette (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place and very nice man who met us there with the keys. Apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including all important air con! Lots of stairs which was fine for us but might not be for other people.
- Katherine (9/5): Superb - Location was great — steps away from restaurants and shops frequented by locals, but further away from the packed touristy areas If you have issues with stairs, then this place isn’t the best. You have to walk up a few flights.
- Milana (9/5): A gem of an apartment in a fantastic less-touristy area - Almost everything was perfect (see negatives for what was not). The location is superb -- close to the very touristy center, VERY close to the Bienale gardens and very close to the excellent and slightly less touristy Via Garibaldi (don't miss Nevody, the best pizza in Venice and their sister 'upscale-ish' restaurant with brilliant service and cuisine). The apartment is especially suitable for a couple with one or two kids -- the kids get their 'secret' mini-rooms upstairs and the parents get the excellent double bed. All the facilities are great (including the perfectly working A/C unit, which is not always the case in Italy). The host was just fantastic in meeting us there and explaining everything. One very important note: the apartment is located on the last floor of an old building without an elevator and with 3 flights of very steep stairs. This was not a problem for us at all, but if you can't climb the stairs - this is not an apartment for you. 1. During the day we've had a couple of waves of bad smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom. The smell was bearable but very strong. The host consulted someone and explained that the problem is probably with the sewage system and that the only workaround would be to use the air-freshener to try and neutralize the smell. We cannot say whether the problem is persistent or was due to the very hot summer, but it was definitely real, hence the rating of 9 and not 10+ as this property would otherwise deserve.
2. As mentioned before, you need to climb three flights of steep stairs -- not a problem for us but may be for others
- Trozzo (9/5): Cute place and perfect for four people. Really enjoyed our stay. - Very nice place. Clean, good air conditioning, good wifi reception. Close to restaurants, a grocery store and a nearby park. Walking distance to all the tourist spots. Also nice that it had a washing machine and they provided laundry soap and a drying rack. It was a very pleasant stay. There were a lot of stairs to get to the place, ok for us but might be a problem for some. We couldn’t get the tv to work but not a big deal.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - The location was good, the neighbourhood is excellent and the view over the sea is grat
- Joan (8/5): Very good - The apartment is lovely and comfortable. It’s location is outside the heavily visited tourist area, in garden district, and only steps to the vaporetto.
- Francesca (8/5): Very good -
- Sybrecht (2/5): Disappointing. - - Cold shower, no hot water in the shower!
- Dirty blankets.
- Too small for 3 people.
- Really noisy.
- Lots of stairs.
- Patricia (8/5): Very pleasant stay. - The location was excellent. Very central and close to Giardini vaporetto. I liked the extra space next to bedroom to hang clothes and store suitcases. The kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs. I was not aware until arrival that there are three steep sets of stairs to reach this top floor apartment. Fortunately I could manage but many other people of my age (78) might not have been able to. My daughter stayed in the upstairs bedroom but knocked her head a few times due to the sloping ceiling.
- Kate (7/5): Nice quieter location in the beautiful design district. - The location was great and easy to find. Nice to be slightly out of the hustle and bustle of Venice, but literally within 10 minutes walk really of the main centre. It was a good size apartment for myself and my husband and our 1 year old son. And the decor was tasteful and simple. Caterina met us with the keys and was super easy to communicate with. She WhatsApped on the day, and made sure to time her arrival at the apartment with when our Water taxi was due to arrive. She was waiting at the foot of the stairs when we arrived. Very smooth. It wasn't as clean as we would have liked. Both the rug on the floor in the living room, and the shower had hair left on them which was disappointing to find.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Climb
- Chinwendu (10/5): Castello is a great area away from the main tourist thoroughfare. Apartments was lovely & had everything we needed. - This is an excellent little gem very close to the Biennale.
