Guest Reviews
- Richard (7/5): Besides our gripes , our stay was relaxing - The greenery There was a smell of dampness. Steps to go anywher was difficult. The river bank was hard to get to to swim. No swimming. Hard to fish Thera re coackroaches in the kitchen
- Janelle (3/5): Convenience of location to Wisemans where we needed ti go for an event however very disappointed with the things mention - The location and outlook Difficult to access which isn’t mentioned until the codes are supplied. The internal spiral staircase is very steep. No fly screens on windows or doors meaning no fresh air as too many mozzies and flys. Ceiling leak in living area. The need to wash everything before using due to a bug infestation which was in the kitchen and living areas. Symbols on oven worn off for cooking options resulting in a guessing game. Generally poorly maintained.

- Kat (4/5): - It was a nice home, well furnished and decorated. Very cosy and quiet with a nice view of the river The water was a major issue, it was quite discoloured, smelly and unpleasant so we had to buy bottled water for cooking, cleaning and washing throughout our stay. There were also a number of bugs but was manageable. The driveway was steep with potholes that we got stuck in so we had to park on the street
- Kati (7/5): Cute house amongst a natural setting. - Was a lovely outlook with river and beautiful trees. Lovely king parrots visiting the verandah. House decor was great. Could not use the tap water, as it was discoloured smelly tank water.
- Lilian (8/5): - Nice house, but a lot of bugs around the kids. We know it's a country house next to the river and we needed to adapt. The kitchen needs some stuff like paper towels, some tissues or napkins will be excellent. Even foil and grapp paper will be pretty useful.
- Megan (7/5): Cute holiday rental in a lovely spot - Great lounge room kitchen and outdoor areas, lovely decor Wasn't particularly clean - the towels were in a pile on the bathroom floor, all the bins were full. Wifi didn't work during our stay. And would have been nice to have milk in the fridge for coffee in the morning as shops are so far away.
- Samantha (6/5): - Very quiet, serene location. Easy to check in. The property smelt very musty inside and we came across several cockroaches in the kitchen.
Biggest issue was the wifi not working (we were particularly reliant on having wifi as there was no phone signal).
Would not recommend staying with little kids or those with mobility issues due to steep stairs to access property and steep stairs internally within the property.
- Irena (3/5): Disappointed stay due to cockroaches infestation - Nice scenery, beautiful location! This was our second stay at this property, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience this time. We discovered a cockroach infestation during our stay and immediately reported it to the owner, who apologised stating that they had pest control done 3 weeks ago and offered a partial refund without us asking. The infestation was pretty bad , we sent videos to owner who did offer to send someone to spray during our stay but we declined such. This was not a case of one or two cockroaches rooming this was infestation of 30-50 of them crawling on the kitchen countertop . Simple spray which we went to shop to buy did nothing as they kept on coming .
Because of the infestation, we couldn’t use the kitchen and felt very uncomfortable throughout our visit. Still, we decided to stay since we had already paid nearly $700 for two nights and it was my partner’s birthday getaway.
At first, we didn’t plan to leave a negative review, as we appreciated the owner’s apology. However, when we later saw that the issue was reported to Booking.com only as an “insect issue,” we felt this was misleading and that future guests should be aware of the actual situation.
We received just a $67.50 refund, which felt more like an insult than fair compensation. We hope the owner properly addresses the pest problem using professional pest control to prevent this from happening to other guests.
- serafina (9/5): Beautiful get away, in a peaceful location. Had a very restful time with the family. Thank you to our hosts. - Very clean great location We loved the property maybe a bbq would have been good but the rest was perfect.
- Irving (7/5): - The location and view from the house and veranda were lovely. Very peaceful place to stay. Coffee machine ready to go. Lots of small cockroaches in the kitchen. Dishwasher didn't work. No tissues/ paper towel.

- Rahi (1/5): - The beds and blankets smell so bad. We booked it for two nights to celebrate my husband's birthday, but we couldn't even sleep one night there. We left the property after a few hours.
- Jimbo (9/5): great place for a family stay - The location was great had lunch at the pub very nice Wiesmans has every thing you need as far as groceries and i recommend a drive to st Albans it has river views from the balcony, the house was very comfortable. will come back again the weather
- Kelly Arnold (10/5): Serinty at is finest. - We are 2 friends who booked a little get away for us both to relax & get away for a couple of days. We honestly could not fault our stay here. It was lovely. Everything was lovely & clean, the house was honestly a little hidden gem. We are about to book it again for October as we enjoyed it so much. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home, we appreciate it.
- Mustakima (7/5): Good -
- Nicole (8/5): Perfect for a quiet weekend away -
- Julian (8/5): Very good - Really cute house and had most of what we needed. Thought the kitchen could have done with some updated pots and pans and other kitchen utensils...a peeler etc
- Irena (8/5): Beautiful , peaceful place with stunning scenery - Very cute and cosy property, with stunning scenery. Very beautiful and peaceful, we are definitely coming back. The hosts were good in their communication, promptly answered to all of our questions .
- Beau (10/5): Beautiful and tranquil - Had a fantastic time in this beautiful house wish we didn’t have to leave it is a true little gem, we travelled to the area for a wedding and were so happy that we picked this property
- Nerida (10/5): Brilliant home great place to stay - It was comfortable and clean
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Plenty of room for 4 adults, well equipped kitchen
- Lisa (4/5): Will not be back and wouldn’t recommend. - Location was lovely. The living room couches very stained and overall not very clean. Cockroaches everywhere in kitchen. Coffee machine water reservoir so slimy and water filter very soiled, luckily there was one replacement filter left and machine was flashing clean. I googled how to use the machine and spent a fair bit of my time cleaning it. Ice cube tray stained yellow in freezer it needed a good wash. Towels very rough and old along with bed linen. I’ve got to say I have not left a review before but I just had to have my say about this property. Possums at 2am were trying to chew their way indoors making a huge noise.
- Beverly (9/5): Superb -
- Matrisse (8/5): Pretty good would go back if in that part of the world again. - Beds were nice and cosy. Good kitchen and beautiful view. Bit steep to carry things down and up. Would be safer with better stairs.
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant location, good for kids and relaxing in general. - The location on the river was very pleasant. TV operated on internet and constantly dropped in and out.
Finding the house at nighttime was not easy. Google maps was not accurate, no street lighting. Maybe some more information on exactly how to get there (what to look out for etc.) would help.
A folder with instructions for use of TV, coffee machines would also be good.
- Margit (9/5): Superb - Nice location. Well-equipped. Good communication from owner. Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Overall we had an amazing time in a very lovely peaceful area in a cosy house. Thank you - The house was beautiful, very cosy with a beautiful view of the river. Lovely facilities and furniture with plenty of entertainment from board games to netflix It would be nice if there were flyscreens on the doors so we could leave the door open and not worry about insects and if there was a local guide book on things we could do and places we could eat.
