• Alison (2/5): Give it a miss - Location Cheapest fit out of an apartment I have ever seen. One wine glass only. Everything from Kmart. Oven broken - so had a airfryer instead. Cheap furniture and cheap appliances. Dryer door broken. Old stained towels. Worst pillows I have slept on. Needs a very deep cleanse. 2nd bedroom smelt like old cigarettes and blinds filthy. Aircon set to boiling with no instructions. Weird back lane key access. Best thing about it was location and cafe downstairs. Had to pay an extra $300 for a deposit. Pool or gym not available and lifts being repaired. So disappointing.

• Matthew (8/5): Great little apartment that's close to everything - It was a lovely stay, the layout is good and clean and comfortable. The main bathroom needed an extra blind above the sink though. Beds are comfy, the kitchen functional. It would be nice to have some normal sharp kitchen knives, but I know that is always an issue with accommodation. The toilet seat needs tightening, and it would be nice to have a clothes airer if you don't want to use the dryer.
• Courtney (6/5): A good option for 2 separate individuals. A bit depressing - For 2x single people needing their own room and bathroom/space- this was pretty good value. Im sure overall we saved money not staying a fancy hotel paying for 2 separate rooms so that’s what you get! I I hope that was fair. The rooms and ensuites were a great size and comfortable The atmosphere was a bit “bleak” (no character, felt unwelcoming) and was pretty unclean. The toilets and dryer didn’t function properly (dryer door just fell off) and it was very noisey and bright during the day with thin blinds. There was no outdoor furniture to sit on and it was a big drama to find the lockbox on arrival. They could throw in some extra bedding (2 pillows per bed was a bit sad). And maybe a few extra towels since we were there for 5 days.

• Corrine (10/5): 2 x bedroom apartment - Booked a 2 x bedroom apartment. We were there for University purposes. There was only 1 key and Fob. When asked if we could get another one considering there were two of us who still needed to do different things, we were told that we needed to put down another $200 deposit on top of the $300 deposit. As a student, that just was not in the budget. Locating the key on the fence in the bushes out the back was interesting, but manageable.

Interesting - 2 bedroom, kitchen, washing machine Picking up keys on a fence at the back of tha accommodation under long itchy grass, high pitch noise from the water pipes, when using the water, cloth dryer extremely noisy and did not dry well, specially when it was raining when I stayed there. Paying extra bond on top of paying accommodation fee. Then gave to waiting 7 days for return money (if any not 7 days yet we will see) was extremely unimpressed from turning up to leaving thank goodness it was only 3 nights.
• Fran (10/5): Great for a Brisbane getaway. - Close to everything we wanted. Well presented. Well appointed. 2 lift tags would have been useful as we weren't a couple. Could do with a little maintenance e.g. marks on walls, some chipped paint.
• Karen (5/5): Disappointed - The location. Firstly as we were three adults staying in this two bedroom apartment it was very disappointing that there was only one key to access the building and apartment. On contacting Serain Residences I was told that I would have to pay another $200 security deposit after already having paid a $300 security deposit. I did this reluctantly and did not receive the extra key until the following morning. Also, having cleaned air bnb's in the past I did not think that the apartment had been cleaned to the standard it should have been, especially one of the toilets. The ensuite bathroom had a large window above the vanity with no blind so the apartment above could see into the bathroom. There was no lamp in the living area which would have given some ambience and was shown in the photos. The apartment had a large balcony but I was most surprised that there was not a table and chairs on the balcony.

• Melissa (8/5): Very good - Room was clean and modern as pictured. Key lock box was chained to a fence in grass making it difficult to find in the dark and would be terrible in wet weather. Kitchen facilities were great but very few pots, bowls ect making it difficult to cook in the apartment which was one of the reasons we selected this accommodation,

The lockbox situation in the bushes is a nightmare. Could not speak to anyone who was at the property for help when we couldnt find it or find lockboxes. No furniture on balcony. Limited utensils in kitchen.

• Lani (3/5): Would not stay again - Good location The unit was not clean on arrival, no beds made and had to wait until 5 pm for the cleaner to finish and thus we were late to our function. No hot water one night. Had to have a cold shower. Were not offered a discount and had to demand it.

• Emma (2/5): The accommodation part of our stay and how Serrain Residences handled THEIR error was atrocious. - Location was OK. I had organised AND paid to have access to 2 sets of keys (we were attending different events and were unable to make access to the unit work for everyone with only one set of keys), when we arrived the code to the lock box didn't work so we had to phone and a new code was given. This worked , however there was only one set of keys. When I told the person on the phone there was only one set of keys they told me the other set would be in the unit. The other keys WERE NOT in the unit. I phoned AGAIN and was told I couldn't have 2 sets of keys even though I had paid $200 dollars, the person I spoke to said he was a manager and his manner was rude and abrupt. Eventually he said he would organise a key but I couldn't access it until the following morning and that was the best he could do. We had to completely change our plans as the time we needed to have access to 2 sets of keys they were not available. It put a real dampener on our trip as we had had everything organised, tickets for events purchased and a timetable planned so we could fit everything planned in. I was then inundated with numerous emails and phone calls (more than 10) telling me how important it was that I returned both sets of keys as these were the only ones. It was supposed to be a fun weekend away that should have run smoothly given that I had organised the keys beforehand, I just felt hassled and was spoken to so rudely by 'the manager'. Revolting service!

• Gregory (2/5): Would not recommend this place to anyone - Not a lot, location was good Was not cleaned very well, finger marks on fridge and a lot of surfaces, thick layer of dust on bed head, fan was very dirty, there was a balcony but no furniture on it at all so not very usable, there was only one key for a two bedroom apartment - made it difficult with 3 people and when we asked for a second key it was a huge hassle to get it we had to threaten to cancel cc payment before they would agree to give us one then give $200 as a deposit and to wait till midnight to get the key - unbelievable how difficult they made it

We were walking around trying to find the the building that said serain. The shower kept falling down on me. You need to let us know that it’s called something other than Serain. Maybe a photo of the building for key collection. I’d rather some someone check me in than key collection.

• Bruce (9/5): Great apartment; great communication. - It was a great apartment, with lots of space and all the equipment I could need. Communication was exceptional - the best I've had from a serviced apartment. Instructions were clear and replies were prompt and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again. I never like sheets and blankets. I much prefer a doona/duvet. But that is personal preference. The TV was too small for the room.

• Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Honestly everything was great. Location, cleanliness and comfort was 10/10! We loved the roof top pool so nice it was heated and great views. They even organised a porter cot for us free of charge which was so helpful. The only thing I will mention as I wish we had have known is that you will only get one set of keys. This may not matter to some however it meant we had to wake my in-laws up at 1:30am to let us in when we got home from the wedding we were attending.

It was difficult to work out where the building was located as the name of the building was not included in the original advertisement on Booking.com. There was no patio/balcony furniture.

• Patricia (8/5): Mostly pleasant once we found the keys. - Very clean and spacious The key collection was ridiculous. Key locks were hard to find and in amongst weeds. They need to be on a wall and accessible. Difficult to contact owner. Could not use balcony as was locked with no explanation.

• Kathy (7/5): Our stay would have been better if the apartment was clean on our arrival - No breakfast Location was close to hospital which is why we stayed The apartment wasn’t cleaned when we arrived at 3pm. Dirty towels sheets etc bin not emptied dishwasher not emptied floors dirty. We called the number on the text message we received and that number wasn’t connected. We called the number on the email and a man in Sydney organised a cleaner who came an hour later. Very stressful when undergoing surgery
