Guest Reviews

Garage Nothing
- Max (8/5): - The place was old, but well maintained without air conditioning. The service was okay.
- Isabella (8/5): Nice spot to be a couple nights before a flight and close to museums - free breakfast is nice to have. Is a big a house with rented rooms so it feels like a comfortable home instead of a hotel. They have parking to keep your car safe. There is always someone at the front desk. the location is not amazing, beware that all san jose looks like this though. But not a fun area to walk around, regardless, it is a great place to take an uber to the museums and the center of the city. It is close by the important places.
- Pellot (5/5): Passable -
- Florentina (8/5): Very good - Delicious breakfast included. Friendly staff. Relatively small rooms but works well for short stays.
- Tilmann (7/5): Good - The TUASA Bus Terminal was in good walking distance, about 10mins from the Hotel. Very friendly reception.
- Roque (8/5): Very good - The staff was very helpful The water heater took sometime to heat up
- Deborah (7/5): Nice place to stay.....quiet and close to central downtown with comfy bed and good breakfast. - I liked the courtyard and coziness of this small hotel. The staff was very cooperative and adept with using google translate. Breakfast was very nice. This is a quiet neighborhood and not far from the main area. The problem was with the bathroom.....the shower door is broken and does not really close and the faucets in the sink are loose. Also the lock on the door to the room is loose. These are minor, easy things to fix. There are very few choices of places to eat close to hotel. I did eat at one of the restaurants in the hotel nearby, had a good meal and had fun interacting with the ladies who worked there. We danced salsa together. No one spoke English, but were patient with my few words of Spanish and use of google translate.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Great location as only 20 mins from airport and 10 min walk to Bus Terminal 7-10. Great for a one night stay.
- Oleksandr (9/5): Good value - Very cheap room, friendly staff. Good atmosphere Facilities were old but that is fine for that price
- Eduardo (5/5): Passable - The neighbohood
And díd not get the room that were booked
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Lovely bed and breakfast - The breakfast and staff were wonderful. Nothing.

- Jeannette (9/5): We enjoy our stay at Srua. - The staff was accommodating. We will comeback to Sura, and we recommend the facility everything was good.
- Catherine (5/5): Functional. - It's a basic hotel but all the basic things are covered. It's a little dirty. The downstairs toilet in reception is smelly and the door is very grubby around the handle. This is an easy fix with a cleaner who can see dirt.
- Nadia (7/5): Good for one night - Comfortable beds, good shower, friendly staff The staff doesn’t speak English so we had a miscommunication about breakfast. We thought we could take it with us since we had an early bus but they didn’t have any take out containers.. The location is a bit shady.
- Moskaleva (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (8/5): Sura is one of the nicest places I stayed in Costa Rica, especially within the city. Good value. - I enjoyed the staff the most.
Helpful with traveling and what is good in town.
I enjoyed the breakfast too. Some of the best breakfast I ate in Costa Rica!
They have a cat that will greet you. The construction of houses and building in Central America is much different than in the States.
The walls are very thin and in turn it was difficult to cut off noise pollution from the next room and from the kitchen downstairs.
Some of the rooms face the street and can be noisy as well.
- Isabel (8/5): Very good - Everything. Good value for money. Central, basic but comfortable, nice breakfast and good and quiet bed My room had some cobwebs, could be a bit cleaner but in general it was ok
- Zam11 (10/5): Little México in Costa Rica lol - Late check-in
You can leave your luggage at check out.

Hot showers

- John (5/5): Fell short of expectations - The staff were pleasant Room was a lot smaller than expected. The property was tired & perhaps not in the best city location
- Kady (7/5): Good -
- Megan (9/5): Superb -
- Maia (8/5): Great layover :) - Good for a stay over in between buses. Lovely and helpful team who work there, both reception and breakfast. Cosy quiet room and nice free breakfast :) We got a taxi from the bus station as the area was a little off near the bus station but very close and cheap taxi to hotel and hotel felt very safe and nice :)
- Erica (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brooke (8/5): clean basic accommodation for a good price - Staff are very kind and accommodating and love the cats everywhere. clean and basic accommodation for a good price did see one cockroach in my bathroom, and it is not in the best area, kind of far from main attractions of San Jose
- Fritzi (9/5): Nice staff, clean and safe place - Very decent room in a quiet area in San José. Nice staff, safe and clean room, good breakfast (Gallo pinto, coffee/tea, fruits). I would recommend it to everyone who stays for a night or 2. There's a little terrace and bathroom attached to the room. Perfect for us. I would have liked a little kettle for tea/coffee inside the room
- Patrick (7/5): Good -
- Jacob (10/5): Would recommend to all - All was very helpful. Short and sweet
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Vincent (10/5): overall, a great place to stay. But quite far from city and downtown - breakfast was average. stay was very ciomfortable A staff that could speak English
