Guest Reviews
- Lauren (9/5): Perfect Hobart stay - The place is perfect for being able to walk to most places around Hobart, great layout - the place is huge! It is looks to be freshly renovated as well. Parking was great to have options both offsite, and on the street out the front. It was also nice and warm inside too. Two pretty small points; floor being noisy, but we were already prewarned about with this from other comments from people who stayed. But it definitely did not harm our stay at all.
Secondly, the carpark out the back being somewhat difficult to get in and out of but not impossible.
- George (10/5): - Lots of room, great appliances, and comfortable beds. Very homey. Bathrooms were very nice. No dislikes.
- huaying (8/5): Overall, this is a nice place and definitely worth a stay. If the issue with the ants can be resolved, it would make the - It’s very close to the CBD and within easy walking distance, which is really convenient. The interior design is beautiful.I especially loved the kitchen, which is modern, well-equipped, and fully stocked with a wide range of condiments. The upstairs bedroom is spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom is also excellent. The downstairs room where my parents stayed was a little less bright and the bathroom was on the smaller side. However, having separate toilets and bathrooms upstairs and downstairs was very convenient, and it really shows the host’s thoughtful design. However, I noticed something that I’m not sure about. There seemed to be ants in the living room, around the sofa area. My husband was sitting on the sofa for two consecutive nights and was bitten by ants both times. It doesn’t seem like a one-off issue, as the ants appear to be consistently present in that area. This did affect our overall experience and was not very pleasant.

- Wendy (10/5): We had a wonderful stay, apartment is convenient, well appointed and comfortable. - Great location in easy walking distance of Salamanca, the wharf and shopping.
Beautifully renovated and appointed apartment with all amenities . It would be helpful if the instructions stated to enter the fenced courtyard to find the lock box.
- greg (1/5): Very disappointing. - Leaving Floor creaks really badly, for 2 couples it was terrible.
- Tan (10/5): -
- Cath (7/5): - Very modern house and great location to food and shopping The washing machine was broken and some of the floor boards were not safe to walk on
- Lyn (10/5): Exceptional two-story apartment with comfortable and above average fittings and furnishings. - There was no breakfast per se, but there was a larder with items (we assume) left by previous guests. It was really a great idea as there were items like various teas, coffee, herbs, oil and other essentials ingredients if you want to cook. The place is very comfortable, relatively spacious with a well stocked library. A home away from home!! The place was located close to the city centre and Salamanca. Excellent location and generally you could walk instead of driving. The upstair bedroom has floor boards which can be very noisy when stepped on. it didnt worry us, but our friends who had the downstair bedroom complained that the noise was quite loud and disturbing at times. By testing various floor boards we would step on only those which didnt move. Problem solved.
- Christine (7/5): Enjoyable but not perfect - Noise factor of people in a
Art ent abovewas issue as was noise within the property.
- Torie (8/5): - Great location, close to many restaurants and the CBD. Rooms were good size to share. Property had good amenities, loved the heated flooring in the bathroom. Stacked bedrooms separated only by floorboards. Heating the bottom room made the top bedroom hot & not recommended if people like to sleep at different temps. Parking was really tight for a larger car.
- Rebecca (8/5): Great property. Had a lovely time. - Great facilities - everything needed for a short stay.
Beautiful building and property. Could hear neighbours - not soundproof at all.
Probably too many messages from host - just need check in and check out instructions day before stay - all other messages were distracting while we were trying to enjoy our stay in Hobart.
- Ellie (10/5): Would recommend to anyone! Such a treat - My partner and I had a very comfortable 5 night stay at this wonderful property in Hobart! Such a gorgeous place, very thoughtfully designed and filled with tasteful pieces. Fully equipped with everything you might need for a long term stay, large kitchen and European laundry. Ideal space to share between two couples :-) however we enjoyed the extra space to ourselves. The location is perfect, only a short stroll to the CBD and Salamanca place. A handful of cafes and organic grocers are at your doorstep. Off street parking is great, would recommend for a small car as the driveway is quite tight. Heated floors in the upstairs bathroom were a treat. Would love to come back and stay soon!
- Colleen (10/5): Exceptional - Well-appointed home with great kitchen and cosy lounge. Easy walk to CBD and harbour. Would stay again when next in Hobart.
- Greg (10/5): Great period historic building nicely refurbished and fitted out with all required facilities in great location - Location. Layout. Facilities design Address and access directions. Specific address 42A not 42. Advice driveway pedestrian gate unlocked and keypad near big sliding door - better description. Internal timber steps could do with more contrast between steps especially kitchen ones
- Daniel (9/5): Epic property. It is a ‘Grand Design’ property. Location is great. The Italian restaurant - Ottimo was excellent. - This is a high class property. It is perfect for 2 couples with a car, because there is parking on the property. It has a quirky thing where the occasional squeaky floor boards start singing. We couldn’t get free to air TV. But we believe this could be our fault, because all three of us were well over 50.
- Susan (7/5): Lovely apartment but there is no sound insulation between floors so very noisy between floors and also the adjacent apar - The lack of sound insulation
- Aitkenhead (7/5): Good -
- Connie (8/5): Was lovely and would stay again - Gorgeous property and central Floors creaking upstairs badly
Lack of kitchen utensils and wine and champagne glasses
- Denise (8/5): Very good - A very shaky start to getting access to property. Was at the point we were about to go and find accommodation elsewhere. It was sorted but very stressful
- Karen (9/5): All in all we loved this place. We were a couple with a friend from overseas. We each had our own space in private bedro - Great space. Tastefully decorated and designed. Lots of natural light. Clean and spacious. If there are guests in the apartment above, you could hear their footsteps, their talking and the toilet flushing.
You can pretty much hear everything from everywhere from both in the apartment and the apartment above.
- Charlie (7/5): Good - The location was great, modern clean place. It was too noisy inside for us. You could hear everything internally and also the neighbours.
It's great to have parking, but it doesn't help when people park in the wrong spots.
- Hanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mcaree (10/5): It is a beautifully restored building, lovely linen, comfortable beds. Central to everything I would definitely stay aga - Beautifully appointed & very luxe. It is very noisy between apartments, could probably have a Perspex floor ( so you can still see the beautiful rough hewed Huon pine flooring)to deaden the transference of noise & maybe some jute runners to deaden the walking noise. Also, need a few extra blankets.
