Guest Reviews
- Mary W (8/5): - Beautifully clean and very spacious. I particularly liked watching (and hearing) the birds just outside the bedroom windows. I also liked the fact that I could park in the driveway. Instructions for how to get the television to work would have been good.
- Sue (8/5): Very enjoyable but some warning is needed for the elderly/disabled that there are steps at the front and there is a - Spotlessly clean! Loved the bathroom roominess and how clean it was. The decor brought back memories and so interesting. Loved the fact I didn’t need to wash up. Good to park so close to the front door. Very cool and comfortable on a muggy weekend. Love the privacy, birds and little courtyard. I’ve got mobility issues, single and elderly so I’m giving this feedback from that perspective. Slanting driveway caused a bit of difficulty balancing. The three front steps were difficult to negotiate. I didn’t know the living area was sunken so I had to hold onto furniture to step down. Finally I had difficulty opening the key lock as it was too high and I have arthritic fingers, but I got it open in the end.
- Shaunna (10/5): -
- Pia (10/5): Nice walk to the beach. I n the evening better to drive or taxi back from town. - Quiet and spacious. Too hard pillows
- Raeleen (10/5): Relaxing and quiet - Easy to find quiet location central to kiama
- Louise (7/5): We roll with whatever we are presented with. It suited our purposes and me our need. Good price but - Nice funky place. Bit mixed up on retro style but was still cool..a sink would be really useful and dishwasher but not a deal breaker. Maybe consider it. Also a
Note on the private section of the house. Just to let us know you are next door..we wanted to be respectful to you. Cute place we'd come back to with more understanding what's there. Great location. Not having a seperate Sink. Less crackly towels. But overall it was a quickly and affordable place.
- Esther (10/5): - Very comfortable and homely with a fantastic shower and comfortable bed in a quiet street. Kitchenette is a microwave, fridge , toaster and kettle. The best aspect though is the wonderful host who is extremely kind and accommodating. Be aware that the property is situated a couple of km out of town and the train station. The host was kind enough to offer us a lift.
- Wolff (5/5): Kiama summer holiday - quiet area Need TV connection, need kitchenette when stay for a week. Very difficult using ensuite to get water to wash up and using lounge to clean dishes. Windows need locks for insurance. Prefer closer to beach so i don't need drive. Rick had ambulance on 1st day as severe bluebottles attacked him. Could not upload photos of his injury.
- Hendricus T (8/5): -
- M a n n y (8/5): Kitsch Charming Cool - The theme A water bubbler for drinking
Aircon for the bedroom
- Smith (9/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Relaxing and enjoyable. - Homely, comfortable and clean. No kitchen or sink.
- Daljit (7/5): -
- Laura (10/5): - The location was neat and tidy and met our needs perfectly. It was located very close to a wedding venue we were attending.
- Sally (3/5): Very dissapointing, too basic for the price paid. - The unit was clean. Very steep driveway. limited kitchen facilities, no sink. Coffee Pod machine took up a lot of space, kettle and toaster only just able to be placed next to it. No tv, phoned owner who stated bad reception there.
- GarryJSmith (8/5): - Quiet location. Going to sleep with birds singing in the bushes outside your window and then hear them again was very soothing
- Penny (10/5): Very comfy, nice and private with some lovely vintage retro pieces on display. - The Retro Place was really cute and a great location, just a short 2 min drive to downtown Kiama.
Very private and comfortable. Nothing to report, driveway was a little steep but there is ample safe and secure parking in the street.
- Farah (10/5): great place to stay, would revisit. -
- Musgrove (9/5): - Private and quiet and central. No sink to wash up in and bed was a bit hard.
- Colin (9/5): This was my second stay. We like it! - Quiet, clean, comfortable and roomier than a hotel room
- Bonnie (8/5): Nice stay in Kiama - Everything was great.
- Charleyne (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Good communication and information
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, love the retro theme. Very clean and comfortable. Nice quiet street with easy access. Will be back
- Minh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Ideal for a night. - Clean, good wifi, comfortable bed. Great host. A little out of town.
- Briana (8/5): Very good -
- Keryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (3/5): Poor - The rooms provided were all spacious pleasant and clean but unfortunately "the look" was the predominant feature, while comfort and convenience came a very poor second. Breakfasts, of course, were not provided but I expected this The location was some distance from Kiama but I knew that when I booked and I was prepared to drive.
Also, I don't know whether it was my ability to use the remote, but I couldn't get ordinary TV on the TV, ie ABC, SBS, etc etc. I wanted to catch up on some missed episodes but I could not do that. I ended up watching the news on Youtube. I do not subscribe to Netflix, etc. I did not like the bed, the mattress was the firmest I have ever felt and so were the pillows. I am a 79 year old lady with arthritic joints etc. and I need a mattress with at least a soft top that my poor old bones can sink into. I actually slept (or tried to sleep) two nights on the sofa. I did bring my own pillow.
I disliked the fact that to wash any used crockery, cutlery, etc. it had to be taken to the bathroom to be washed up and, even there, there was little to facilitate this. No where to put washed items as the vanity was small and there was no other appropriate surface.
I was also told in my pre-arrival communications that there would be someone called Zoe around, who I could approach for any assistance or questions, but Zoe was never seen during my stay and I was not supplied with any phone number by which I could contact her.
- Kerrie (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (7/5): Apart from the TV issue it met our expectations - The place was very clean and tidy. The retro style was fun. The bathroom was thankfully modern. Its a little out of town but quiet. We had trouble operating the TV. The screen just showed "program not available" on all channels. An instruction manual would have been useful. So a night without TV was somewhat more retro than what we had in mind
- Nob (10/5): Super roomy and had such a cool vibe, perfect place for a stay away! - Super clean and cool vibe! Was perfect
- Paula (8/5): Very good -
- Mia (10/5): A perfect stay!! - EXCELLENT. Loved our stay here. Everything from the quiet street, easy check in, great communication from the host, very very cute decor, comfy spaces, great shower, coffee and snacks!!, big tv… the list goes on. A really well thought out space. Thank you so much for having us!
- Cooper (8/5): We loved staying there, it was quiet and private. The view of greenery was lovely in the morning. - There was no breakfast. We brought our own. Toaster and kettle were provided, but I was worried about spilling water on the small wooden sideboard, or on the carpeted floor below it. The microwave was sufficient for one night to heat up our own prepared food. We lived the bird life in the morning right outside the bedroom window, the privacy and peace. The rooms were spacious, the decor was sweetly Retro We did enjoy it a lot. The nightly rate is too much to stay for longer, sadly. There was not sink. The only tap for getting water was the bathroom basin. There was no detergent for washing up there, so we rinsed the crockery etc and left it stacked by the microwave. Hope that was OK. There was no tea towel or handtowel, which was annoying.
- Christie (7/5): Good - I really liked the retro decoration, it was a great experience walking into a "70's feel" home I unfortunately never received an email with instructions for arrival, leaving check in to be a challenge. However, the owner was very helpful when they found out.
- Klause (10/5): Very nice, spotless house in a quiet cul-de-sac. - Very nice private residence in a very quiet neighbourhood. The house was spotless. N/A
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Loved it. Really comfortable, well appointed and well organised Nothing
- Dc (8/5): A good clean and tidy place. A good base for Kiama and the surrounds. - The property was clean and tidy and all that we needed for a night in Kiama It was on the outskirts of town
