• Maria (10/5): - Amazing value for money. The location is great if you are travelling by car. You stay in your own house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms in a nice, quiet condo, just a 5-minute drive from La Fortuna.
• 74ef9ca3de067168e898698bca94ed7f (9/5): The best rental we experienced in Costa Rica - We really enjoyed Holly House, which is in a quiet location in a "gated" community (the gate was never locked, and the security guard was generally off patrolling), a little outside of the main town. The bedrooms (and beds) were large, there was ample space in the main bedroom closet to store one's clothes, and the showers were the best we encountered in Costa Rica (spacious with plentiful hot water and lots of water pressure and flow). The living room furniture was comfortable, and there was some exercise equipment and (importantly) space to use it. Diego (the host's representative) was responsive and helpful, and we appreciated having a washer/dryer (plus soap!). The full kitchen was small but functional. We appreciated that there were multiple AC units across the house (including both bedrooms). For those who need to work, there are multiple desks and a desk chair in an alcove off the kitchen. And we had the BEST animal viewing of our entire trip in Costa Rica (for free!) in a tree across the street from the house: a 2-toed sloth that was munching leaves on a low hanging branch. So cute! We included these to encourage improvement (or note something that could be an issue for some), but the property was our favorite in CR (where you have to temper your expectations, especially around a hot shower). It would have been nice not to have to wait for the security guard to show up at the gate for the final directions to the property. Although it's self-check in, you do have to meet up at some point with the host's representative for payment (cash only). It would have been helpful to have more information about appliances and amenities, like user manuals for the oven contraption, dehumidifier, and spa and the hours and location of the community pool. (Hopefully, this will be done soon and push the property into a solid 10.) Good ventilation--and humidity--can be an issue if you don't run the dehumidifier (there was no instruction manual). There are no fans in the bathrooms and only screens on 2 little windows, so you can't get good airflow without insects (including mosquitoes). The kitchen has most amenities anyone would want (including a full size refrigerator and free ground coffee), but the very limited counterspace in the kitchen can be frustrating. (We used the desks in the nearby alcove to store our non-perishables.) We had a car, so it wasn't an issue to stay a little out of town (opposite the side of where most tourist attractions are located), and we enjoyed the quieter, more residential location. But this distance could pose an inconvenience for those without a car.
• Esteban (10/5): El mejor lugar en la Fortuna - Lugar espacioso, limpio, organizado. Facil de llegar al lugar. Las fotos no le hacen justicia a la maravilla de lugar, Te sientes rodeado de naturaleza. Lo unico que no me gusto' fue que no lo encontre facilmente en Waze, podrian agregarlo en waze y google maps.
• Bárbara (10/5): Excelente experiencia - La casa está ubicada dentro de un condominio con seguridad 24 hs lo cual la hace segura y tranquila, sin ruido. Desde el patio solo se escucha el sonido de la naturaleza (incluido un arroyo cercano). La casa es amplia, cuenta con 2 habitaciones y 2 baños (uno en suite) y esta muy bien equipada, no tuvimos que comprar nada para el hogar, eso es un plus. Tiene aire acondicionado en todos los ambientes, es muy cómoda y recomendable. También ante cualquier duda tuvimos presente a Diego, el gerente, quien siempre se mostró bien predispuesto a ayudarnos. Nada para criticar, es una hermosa casa ubicada a minutos en auto del centro de la Fortuna
• Kevin (1/5): Dark, Dank, Musty. - Not much. The showers had hot water and the TV had apps available. The concierge decided to lecture me (in a semi-literate rant) on not being from Costa Rica, and that we should accept local standards. We stayed in 8 different rentals in 25 days - CR standards are high - this was by far the worst accomodation we encountered. I had asked for it to be re-cleaned (that was refused) as the villa had dirty bathrooms. The whole place smelt damp and the stupid “it’s a rainforest” response is just lazy. It was gloomy with uncomfortable furniture - good luck getting out of the reclining armchair! The kitchen sink had no hot water feed - why ? The bathroom doors are bowed out of shape and don’t close. There are no window/door nets so if it ever did stop raining, you couldn’t open the doors unless you wanted a bug invasion in this damp little corner. The strip window by the front door has no blind so you can be observed from outside during darkness without knowing. Gate security was laughable; we found it open/unattended; closed but you let yourself in/out, and one time, we had to wake the guard up - no comfort in that. The nearest two local walkable restaurants - Lusito and Delicias Tablada are really good; Mistico Park with Guide was brilliant; and the La Fortuna Waterfall was good cardio! CR was fantastic as a whole - just don’t take it down by staying here.

• David (10/5): Excellent choice in La Fortuna — helpful staff, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, nice jacuzzi - An excellent choice for La Fortuna. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the jacuzzi is a great plus. Everything was fine

Once we figured that out it was great! Maybe could use a few more dishes & another frying pan
• Julia (10/5): perfect house - Perfect house. Everything you need and even more, you feel like the host was thinking about tenants. Even yoga and fitness stuff were inside the house. Hot-tube is a good additional and cherry on the cake of this house the only thing it is 2 km from downtown, if you don't have a car- you have to carry food by taxi
