Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): Wonderful Egyptian decor very attentive staff always willing to assist - This is a beautiful property with lovely rooms a fantastic pool area on the roof and very good food in the 3 restaurants There was very little hot water in our room. Also the free WiFi was poor but reception changed our settings and it then worked great

- Dennis (10/5): Outstanding staff and facilities! - I want to thank the management and team for making my time at the Temple Hotel so memorable. Everything from the breakfast, rooftop bar, Italian restaurant, and spa was amazing. The hotel’s amenities are first class and so much appreciated when traveling in a foreign country. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Thant (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Friendly front desk team. Excellent customer service. Great location and facilities. Nothing to fault
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Chengrun (9/5): Superb - The location is great, a bit distance from the tourists while being close to the local neighbourhoods. Quite a nice way to explore how local people live. Love the conveniency of having many supermarkets around. Only complaint is the Internet quality, pretty much no WIFI connection at all.

- Barry (7/5): Worth a look - Large, comfortable rooms with good beds/linen, good Aircon and plenty of wardrobe space. Rooftop bar and pool area is a nice place to relax after the hectic nature of the town with Nile views. Staff are mostly friendly and attentive. Cleanliness and maintenance overall was very good. Laundry / dry cleaning service was good. Food in the restaurants and breakfast left a bit to be desired- I ended up eating at the Steigenberger more than my own hotel. Staff also don't listen to you if you say your room is fine and you just want clean towels- I think the cleaners have some pressure from management to do a full clean, even if you repeatedly tell them not to. And sort out your own taxi as they will charge 4x the top rate that you'd pay. And staff who are clocked off will follow you when you leave, attempting to sell you taxis, tours, hash etc and again- just won't listen when you tell them you're not interested. I had 2 guys who wouldn't leave me alone until I got pretty stern with them. But that's everyone in Luxor once you leave the hotel.
- Θωμασ (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurent (6/5): Pleasant - The rooftop
The staff The breakfast boxes
The ambiance music
The environment around the hotel, lots of works, very noisy at night too
- Dionysios (1/5): Very very worrying - Good size rooms, clean and relatively OK condition. Rooftop pool is available with some good views. Our main issue is the harassment from some of the staff to get money from us. The room rate did not include breakfast and while attending breakfast staff approached us to pay them in cash as the “card machine was broken” at least ten times in 5 minutes. Obviously they wanted to pocket the money without telling the management we had breakfast. We of course paid by card at the reception. We also used the billiard pool and after some time the same people approached as again asking for a crazy amount of money. Of course management said this is not true. Fortunately on our last day management were kind enough to allow us a very late check out with no charge.
Area is a bit dodgy. The second you step your foot outside the hotel you will have people calling you, asking you for money etc etc.
To top all that I received at least 20 phising emails from the hotel with a direct payment link. Management suggested they have been hacked.
- Rebecca (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. We were made very welcome. It was a shame we couldn't stay longer.
Only issue was the Internet connectivity, but I'm sure they were sorting that out.
- Koji (6/5): Pleasant - Very nice roof top, nice room, etc Wi-Fi was sooo slow.
After checking in, a staff came to my room saying that they need a confirmation id for booking.com and took a photo of my booking.com screen on smartphone, which not only displays confirmation ID but also a PIN code. Not sure if he intended or not, but I’ve also found a similar comment from the google map review. Please be careful not to share PIN code with them.
- Zoran (10/5): Exceptional - Water pressure is good, A/C is working , staff great, breakfast ok.
Overall, everything was good. Nothing to complain about.
- Anapa (8/5): Very good - A man selling tours tried to rip us off when we asked for a fare to go to Aswan by car.
Also we asked in advance about the spa rates but we were told that we could see the menu at the check-in. Afterwards when we asked for a spa experience we were told it has to be booked in advance. But we asked for it in advance... In the end we went to another hotel for the spa.
- Domingo (10/5): Exceptional - Very good hotel, all was perfect. Well located, 10 minutes walking to the Luxor Temple and Nile river.
Hotel staff are very kind and always willing to help.
The rooftop with bar and swimming pool is amazing to relax after a day of cultural visits.
100% recommended
- Berkan (10/5): Exceptional - The room and hotel was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend. All was good
- Konstantina (9/5): Superb - The hotel was super comfortable and fancy, the price-to-quality ratio was incredible! The hotel staff was really polite and helpful. The room was really big and the beds were very comfortable. I really liked that we had a small balcony. The room was very clean. I only have 1 minor complaint about this hotel. At certain times during the day, for example around 13.00 - 18.00, there was not a lot of hot water, so I had to take a lukewarm shower. There was plenty of hot water in the evening. I guess there are not enough water heaters and when a lot of guests try to take a shower at the same time the hot water runs out. It was not too uncomfortable, but it can be improved.
- Yaling (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (2/5): STAY SOMEPLACE ELSE IF YOU ARE A WESTERNER!!!! - Property is pretty clean and well maintained. The daytime manager and supervisor at this hotel DO NOT know how to deal with WESTERNERS. They are obviously used to pushing around their own countrymen but think they can treat others the same way if things don't go exactly the way they want. They created a hostile interaction that could have been handled so differently if they simply remembered that I was on vacation and there to have a pleasant experience. The nighttime manager was amazing though and really made me feel a little better when I was leaving. The daytime manager has A LOT to learn from him! The people of Egypt are a beautiful people with a rich culture and history. Our trip would have been a perfect experience if not for this hostile daytime manager and supervisor that seem to forget you are actually on vacation trying to have a positive experience! They probably could not even recognize their HOSTILITY in how they chose to handle things. It's not just about the end result but HOW you choose to get there. This is what they don't understand about customer service and why they should not be dealing with Westerners. They wasted a perfect opportunity to show outstanding customer service and differentiate themselves from competitors but instead chose to create a negative experience. DO NOT STAY HERE if you like to be treated properly and want a great vacation experience!!! With so many choices, why take the chance of ruining your experience that you are spending so much money on? You've been warned!!! If the owners of this property want more detail on what happened and how it made me feel as a customer, I'm happy to have a call!
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were great. As an elderly traveller, they looked after me well ensuring I was happy and had all I needed.
I enjoyed sitting on the sun terrace and chatting with staff and other guests.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the waiting staff were very helpful.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were fantastic. They were very helpful and keen to sort out any issues we might have and to ensure we had a lovely stay.
The roof terrace was a wonderful space to sit in the sun and take in the view of the Nile whilst sipping a fresh fruit juice or a beer.
The beds were really comfy and the rooms cleaned daily.
We were able to book excursions with the hotel staff which made things easy for us. We were in a city view room which could be a little noisy in the evenings, but that is the nature of Luxor, especially during Ramadan.
The hotel facilities could do with better signage to enable guests to make the most of them.

- Ludovit (9/5): Superb - The hotel met our expectations, and we experienced no issues whatsoever. The surroundings are not very nice, as it is not really in a tourist area.
- Duarte (8/5): Small issue with water - There was a problem with the water, which was beyond Hotel's responsibilities, but the way the problem was manager left some frustration. Despite of that, the staff was always extremely welcoming.
As another small note, me and my wife left the Hotel with the feeling that the staff is a bit much servile, not staff's fault, this is likely the directives from management.

- Nathalie (7/5): Good value, clean and central location - Great location to explore the town and temples on foot.
Great ordinary shopping streets and street food just a few corners away. Felt like a very safe and friendly area.
Hotel seems new, clean and had good breakfast .
- Horden (3/5): Value for money has a price. - Location was good, gym was quite well fitted out, rooftop bar & swimming pool was lovely. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. WiFi was unbelievably slow, something that shouldn't be an issue in any hotel, they just haven't paid for appropriate bandwidth.
Patio style doors on balcony weren't completely shut, even though catch engaged. Problematic with parties, car horns and bustle going on outside until 1am every night. Then starting again at 6am with the balloon runs.
Bed was a mattress on a plywood box, with a plastic mattress cover on, making for a sweaty night.
Paid for breakfast at the start of our stay, asked for it to be logged on the system. Got told by the same waiting staff we needed to pay for breakfast every morning for 4 days.
Male staff continually asking if my companion was my wife, girlfriend, saying I was a lucky man was unprofessional and inappropriate. I get it out on the street, but when they're working in a hotel aimed at Western clients it shouldn't be happening.
- Eleftheria (9/5): Superb -
- Dr. (2/5): Nice hotel , but management completely scams you with reviews, - Hotel ok, nice terrace and staff. Be very careful, they are running a massive scam on their reviews. When I checked in, they asked me to take a picture of my booking, which I thought nothing of it, and I said, yes, of course, do it, not realizing that they later on would write a review on my behalf with exceptional 10.0 and no comments. I would only receive the email later saying I've submitted a review, which I never did. There are many reviews exactly like that. And then you can't change the review or do anything about it. I then called booking.com, explained the whole situation. They looked into it, sent me a new link so I can make actual review and write what happened here, just to warn everybody to not do that. I wasn't aware that once they have your booking number and the PIN, they can go and change and write a review for you. So be very, very careful. They are running quite a scam here, which is very unfortunate because the hotel itself is actually all right and the staff is nice, but the management, why would they do that? Also with the breakfast, booking said if I pay $8, I can have breakfast. They charged me more for that. I said on Booking that's the price , but the hotel said we charge more. I said, no, because I bought it under booking conditions for that price. So it went back and forth until they finally gave in, but it took half an hour of arguing with them. It's not about a few extra dollars. It's again another sign that they will scam you the way they can, which is very unfortunate for that place.
- Hatem (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (9/5): A really comfortable hotel with all the extras, at a great price - Excellent value at under £60/night including one weekend night.
The room was equipped with every comfort, including two bath mats and an impressive selection of toiletries, and everything was in working order.
The rooftop bar offered great views, from both sunny and shaded spots, and attentive and friendly drinks service. The pool was tempting, but sadly too chilly for swimming in late January, even in the mid-to-late afternoon.
The breakfast was excellent, for those who don't mind missing out on a few of the standard international dishes in favour of local cuisine, and appreciate French-style medium-strength filter coffee (freshly brewed!) over the usual Italian espresso-based options. The spread featured a huge variety of hot and cold dishes, some international and others Egyptian, including made-to-order eggs, delicious Om Ali (the local bread and butter pudding), fresh dates, and a refreshing fruit salad.
On our first evening, only the Italian restaurant was open, offering a limited menu beyond pizza and pasta, but our choice of secondi was impeccably cooked and diabetic-friendly. Very little to dislike. The hotel location was a dull and dusty modern area, with a tout, Abdullah, who will attempt to persuade you that he works for the hotel. He did fend off the other touts, and walked uptown with us as a pleasant low-key companion, but then joined us in our taxi to the West Bank. However, there is a cafe, supermarket and ATM within a few yards of the hotel, and it's a very short hassle-free walk via the back streets to the edge of the main town, a better option than the busy main road.
- H (9/5): Good - Good breakfast and staff. Nothing special to discuss
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hotel. Very clean. Arrived to find a bowl of fruit in our room which was a nice touch. We had a fridge and kettle too. Very comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Nice rooftop pool and sunbeds. Nothing.
- Silviu (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Really wonderful hotel! I was for one week there and I was delighted. Everything perfect, great location, comfortable, and the best of all, all the staff members are fantastic and so helpful! Thank you Sandra and everyone :)
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudette (10/5): Very good value for money and location - Very close to city centre and good food spots.
Room and bathroom clean and spacious. The food and breakfast inside the hotel isn’t great, only thing that was decent were the fries. The outdoor pool was not heated which was disappointing as it looked absolutely beautiful and inviting.
- Wei (7/5): Good -
- Weili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hina (8/5): Very nice - The desk manafer and other staff members. Location People/staff. Location.
- Jostam (10/5): Exceptional - Spotless and spacious rooms, comfortable beds.
The pool was amazing as well. Many members of the staff did not quite understand English, which made communication somewhat hard.
- Bruno (9/5): Superb -
- Qifan (10/5): After enduring a series of terrible situations in Luxor caused by the betrayal of a travel agency, this hotel offered us - for the room and services, they are absolutely impeccable. If you are visiting Luxor for the first time, staying here is a decision you won’t regret! nothing
- Fazeem (10/5): Exceptional - The Temple Hotel is a new property conveniently located close to the city center.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, and we were particularly impressed by the courteous and attentive Guest Relations Executive, Ms. Sandra. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was comfortable and kindly extended our late checkout, as our train to Cairo was scheduled for 8:00 PM.
The room was spacious and modern, as were the bathrooms, which were well-equipped with ample toiletries. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection of both continental and local dishes, making for a delightful start to the day.
I highly recommend The Temple Hotel and will certainly return next time with my family. I would suggest that the receptionists smile and be more friendly, as it creates a welcoming atmosphere when entering the hotel.
The mini fridge is a little noisy at times.
Also it would be good if they can add an iron and board for the convenience of the guests.
