Guest Reviews
- Stephen (9/5): Peaceful Bush stay - Beautiful location and surrounds, secluded and peaceful.
Huge house with plenty of space.
Great place to spend a few days or a week.
Julia the host was great. Nothing
- Julie and Peter (10/5): - The property was well presented and equipped. We loved the tranquility of being in the forest. We would have liked to stay longer, hopefully we will return.
We would recommend this property.
- van Voorst (8/5): - I liked that you were right in the middle of the forest. Close to nature. Their wasn't much is didn't like except the TV reception was really bad. Maybe they could have supplied some DVD movie.
- Mitchel (10/5): This is a great hidden gem in the forest a short drive from Manjimup, you will not be disappointed. - This property was in a stunning location surrounded by forest, the photo's did not do it justice, the house was amazing with great views and a wrap around verandah. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a nice quiet getaway and will be looking to take my family to stay there in the near future.
- bright (10/5): The most peaceful place ever!! - Pretty much everything, perfect for our family The driveway, its a little hard to drive up but totally worth it

- Iva (1/5): Creepy place and owner - part 2 - The nature. This is the rest of the previous review that couldn’t fit in the designated box.
The house in general was dirty and unkept, the sheets stank of old, stale and moldy, all the chests of drawers and wardrobe in the master bedroom were full of her stuff and unusable. There was a wheelchair in the master bedroom wardrobe that added to the overall creepy feeling.
The kitchen was dirty, it had a fair amount of utensils, pots and plates but everything had to be washed before usage.
The TV in the lounge room is smaller than an average monitor and completely useless, not a smart tv and you can’t cast from your phone. Also there is a sound system that is connecting to her phone, so we listened to some spiritual healing at 1 am before we figured out what was going on - creepy again!
This place is absolutely overrated and cannot justify the rate she is charging per night, especially the price she charged us for the last two nights with the excuse it was a weekend rate and now when we checked the weekend rates in the fufure are the same as the original price we paid. The online photos definitely don’t represent the current state of the house!
- Iva (1/5): Creepy place with a very creepy owner - The nature around the house was nice but the house is very isolated, no neighbours around, very quiet. 1. We booked the accomodation and got the confirmation but no check-in instructions and no options to call or use internet because there is no reception in the area
2. We arrived at the house and nobody was there, after walking around the porch, we noticed the beds were not made and then we knocked on the door and after a couple of minutes the lady appeared and asked us how she could help acting like she had no idea we were coming
3. She told us to wait outside until she makes our beds and she asked how many bedrooms we needed despite the fact we paid for 4x3 accomodation
4. She said she had COVID and that she can’t finish cleaning because she’s not feeling well and that she’ll continue cleaning the next day which never happened
5. The next day she showed up on the porch and spent 15 mins hanging the wet towels that had been sitting in the bucket from previous day clearly disrupting our privacy
6. On Wednesday she left and said that her husband Bill is downstairs battling Covid and that he will be very quiet, we could only hear the TV from downstairs if he will be watching
7. We believed that Bill was downstairs because she left the lights on and when we wanted to extend our stay for another two days she had accused her husband Bill for increasing the prices to weekend prices
8. The house had a very creepy vibe, like someone is watching you all the time, very unsertling and even our dog was very restless
9. We found Bill’s obituary online, he passed away in August 2023! The vibe and energy in the house became even creepier after that
10. Julia came back on Sunday exactly at the time of check-out and when we mentioned Bill she just continued talking about him as he really was alive and living downstairs.
This has been the creepiest experience ever and we are really well travelled! I would avoid this place at all costs, it looks shabby, definitely not worth the money we paid and we feel super scammed because Julia shamelessly increased the price for two extra days!
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Chand (7/5): Good - Location and views were great.
Appreciated that the heater was turned on before our arrival and there was milk and breakfast items for us to use for next day. Lots of books and board games were great for use. Loved the outside seating area and outdoor dining space. Maybe having a ceilleing heater installed there can go a long way for families like us to enjoy the space in evenings Needs better maintenance on the porch outside, overgrown plants not tidy, some faded furniture. Washed laundry hanging while we tried to walk around which was not that exciting. All the wardrobes in the rooms were unusable due to stuff in there. Kitchen had way too much stuff and cluttered especially all the things that are kept on top of the overhead cupboards. Also pantry could have been more organised.
One of the bedrooms fire alarm was due for battery change which kept beeping on the last evening/night keeping my kids awake until we moved them in our room.
Overall a little disappointed especially given we paid over $400 per night.
- Julie (10/5): great location for holidays or Bibbulmun Track hikers - location in the forest, relaxing on verandah, fully contained bedrooms, kitchen, living areas, several rooms with own ensuites, laundry
- Carol (8/5): A very lovely rural stay for a large groups. - Peaceful and relaxing country property with very large rooms and shared spaces to cater for 5 singles. Very clean. Friendly but not intrusive host who lives downstairs. Provided lovely fresh flowers for our Christmas table. Property is pet friendly. Considering the property can sleep around 10 people it lacked sufficient crockery cutlery and cooking containers. Conversely it has some advanced kitchen equipment if you know how to use it. Decks and external areas are definitely showing wear and age but shouldn’t be a deterrent.
