• Aulona (10/5): - Everything was exceptional. We received excellent service and the staff was incredibly responsive to all our needs. The location is superb, offering a front-row seat to the history of the city. The breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy. ​The highlight of our stay was the fairy-tale peace and quiet; the singing of the birds at night, right in front of the Argjiro Castle, added a truly magical touch to the entire experience. It was an unforgettable stay.

• Heide (10/5): Hospitable - The owners were welcoming and attentive. The craftsmanship of the hotel is stunning, specifically the ceilings. The rain shower provided a relaxing shower. I would like to give extra gratitude to the owner for being beyond helpful when he noticed my flat tire. He went above and beyond to help us get it repaired. What a gentleman! Was not a problem for us but it’s worth mentioning that the bazaar is a quick walk down a hill. Coming back up may pose a problem for some as it is a steep walk up.

• anonymous (8/5): - Great location! Wonderful view of castle. Very nice and spacious room well decorated. Huge bathroom. Breakfast on the terrace facing the castle. Owners help you with the tricky parking of the car. Breakfast is only served directly to the plate. So no real choice. Actually if you want something like coffee, you should ask it, because this is not served systematically. For stays longer than one night, it seems that your room is not done each day.
• Laura (10/5): Espectacular - Ubicación espectacular, al lado del castillo y con unas vistas preciosas, y a solo un paseo del centro del pueblo. Habitación muy amplia, con baño nuevísimo. La pareja que lo lleva es encantadora. Todo estaba perfecto.

• Dushibregu (10/5): - Μου άρεσε πολύ το καταλημα ήταν σε κεντρικό σημείο ακριβώς κάτω από το κάστρο. Το δωμάτιο πολύ όμορφο και καθαρό. Το πρωινό ήταν ακριβώς πανό από το καταλημα με θέα το κάστρο. Οι οικοδεσπότες πολύ καλή άνθρωποι. Το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα.
• Abrar (10/5): - This family was one of the sweetest family we met in our trip in Albania. It’s a family run Business they have a very cute kid. Also they’re very friendly people very polite respectful the rooms are absolutely fantastic, very big. Breakfast also 10/10.

• Michael (9/5): They live up to the expectations: a very comfortable anf friendly hotel with spectacular view - The spacious, clean and in style decorated room with beautiful view of the old city and the castle. Excellent beds, a huge well equiped bathroom, free parking and especially the friendly and helpful family who runs the hotel. The difficulty to find the hotel. On booking they're registered as 'Hotel with Castle View' but when you ask, nobody knows where it is situated. 'Hotel Castle' (not Castle Hotel!) might ring a bell sooner. Avoid getting there via the old city of Gjirokaster as it is a steep narrow cobble-stoned road. Better is to follow the SH4 and take the exit to the Castle. It's a paved road up and let's you enter the city near the hotel.

Granny is amazing and her cooking is outstanding. We arrived and had late lunch - so tasty. Her little baby grandson entertained us with his smile. Beautiful place with stunning views. Hard to find location and took some time to find place. You need to make sure you travel behind castle and not centre of town.
• Desiree (10/5): This place has it all! - Location was amazing! Just where you wannabe. The patio at the roof of the building has a pretty view on Gjirokaster castle. Rooms are spacious and clean, free parking, good wifi, homemade breakfast and a friendly family that runs this place.

• Charles (10/5): Exceptional - This is one of those places that deserves an 11, not a 10. We booked one night and stayed another and wished we had more days. The location is perfect, right near the castle and high up the hill. There are several restaurants in the old town down the hill but also several good places closer just around the property and up. Breakfast on the terrace with that awesome view, what a wonderful start to the day. We had a triple room and it was very spacious with great beds. It's a family hotel and everyone we interacted with was so very friendly. It was a nice bonus to have a place to park the car. So many nice things about this place, it was a perfect choice. All perfect!
• Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious beautiful room in small hotel with spectacular views over Gjirokastra and beyond. The family are so friendly and welcoming and the grandmother cooked up some delicious breakfast treats. Breakfasts on the terrace were one of the highlights of our Albania trip

Easily accessible through the newly build road that enables you to reach the property without having to go through the narrow city streets. Once you park the car, the castle and the main city attractions are within a 5 minute walk. The owner was most helpful and accommodating.
• Mentor (10/5): Everything exellent. - Very good location, close to old town with beautiful view from terrace. Huge traditonal room and modern bathroom. Clean, quiet and renovated room. Very good breakfast. Lovely staff.
• Patricia (9/5): Superb - Probably the best place we stayed in Albania. The family room was very spacious and very comfortable. The owners of the hotel were extremely friendly with us and with our small daughter. The hotel is a bit difficult to find, but the owner was very happy to pick us up from the point in which we were. Be careful if you follow GPS or Google maps because it brings you through the old town (with very narrow streets) and to a street with stairs that you cannot circulate with car. There is a new road that goes from the beginning of the city, all the way behind the castle. Follow that till the end. From there it is easier to find the hotel or ask someone around. There is free parking next to the hotel. Breakfast was very nice too, upstairs in the terrace with views to the castle. We were served among others freshly made "Petullas" .
• Kirsty (8/5): Recommended - Very spacious and recently renovated room, clean, great views of castle and valley especially from outdoor terrace, breakfast, friendly staff. Quiet. Close to old town but an uphill walk to return. Ran out of hot water one morning but ok the next.
• Anonymous (10/5): The staff we’re extremely helpful and kind, we had an excellent breakfast and they were very accommodating with our wish - Clean, spacious and recently decorated, modern ensuite with excellent shower. The room was very comfortable and had plenty of light and fresh air. We ended up with the room across the corridor due to a mistake by me, and the staffs were very accommodating and generous by allowing us the other room. I don’t drink coffee (unlike the rest of all the Albanians!) and would’ve really liked somewhere to make tea.

Quiet at night, no busy road nearby. View to the castle, not far from city center (5min walk) Breakfast could be a little bit more diverse (e.g. different fruits, toasted bread)

They seem to be newly renovated and the pictures just don’t do it justice. Staff are incredible - we had car trouble coming in and Albi stayed on WhatsApp video to ensure we reached safely. The family that hosts you are amazing, Albi helped us with the orientation and park the car. Spacious room , clean and very comfortable, everything was new in the room. I would suggest staying in this hotel.
