Excellent facilities in a stunning setting.

- Louise (10/5): Highly recommend Sassafras Treehouse, our family were super WOWED about the accommodation, we would highly recommend - The host was great to deal with. The treehouse was charming & in a fantastic location. The kitchen was very well appointed, and the bed/bathrooms had excellent linen.
We were very comfortable and the Sassafras Treehouse is highly recommended by our family. Thanks Lorena for letting us stay and enjoy your beautiful & unusual home
- Bilee (9/5): Fantastic treehouse in the Dandenongs - Great little tree house in the Dandenongs close to Puffing Billy. I unfortunately broke my leg less than two weeks before this trip so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as possible. Hopefully we can come back one day!
- Natalie (10/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Dandenong! - Excellent Location, short stroll to Sassafras village. Thoughtfully furnished and well-stocked. Very comfortable. Perfect for our stay.
- Suryani (9/5): - Great location and lots of light. The treehouse is very comfortable and the host made a great effort to make us feel welcome. We feel connected to nature even when sitting in the lounge room. We saw beautiful Lorikeets on the trees. Nothing. The room is not too big but it's just the right size for us.
- Krissi (10/5): Amazing place- serene and beautifully appointed. Amazing location in the trees😊 - Beautifully presented and welcoming space. Relaxation as soon as I turned the key in the door. Nothing.

- Chloe (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful, there was jazz playing and an essential oil diffuser upon arrival. - Cosy and beautiful scenery! Driveway can be a little hard to navigate for a sedan, but we got there in the end!
- Ashleigh (10/5): The perfect place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful weekend - Thoughtful touches from the coffee to the fire built and waiting for us, the only thing for us to do on arrival was get comfortable and enjoy the gorgeous home and beautiful forest views. All 3 of us slept so comfortably and had a wonderful stay. Thank you so much 🙏 Our car was a little low for the driveway 🤣 but not an issue!
- Lynette (10/5): Would stay again gladly. - Gorgeous decor, house is surrounded by tall trees & beautiful outlook.
Very comfortable beds. Absolutely loved it.
- rebecca (10/5): Absolutely beautiful and relaxing stay! - The house was just beautiful! The aroma walking in was so lovely. The views out if all of the windows were just beautiful especially being so high up in the trees in the main bedroom! We were 5 minutes walk to the town for dinner and breakfast. The fire was so good. The bathrooms were beautiful. Just everything was perfect! It was so relaxing, the swivel couch and the big long couch were perfect 👌 would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend 👌 Lol nothing

- Michael (9/5): The perfect place for an autumn holiday in the mountains - Gorgeous multi-level house amongst the trees, beautiful views, cosy, warm and comfortable with lots of windows and lots of light. We used it as a base to explore Sassafras, Olinda and other towns in the area. The host was informative and welcoming. We visited in late autumn and the reverse cycle heating kept the place very warm - the wood heater also worked really well, and there were blankets provided as well as very comfy couches. So many cafes and restaurants around that we hardly used the kitchen, but it was spacious and well equipped.
- Malek (9/5): Very comfortable, unique home where the host foresees your every litlte need. - Location was a 4 minute walk to town of Sassafras, which seemed like the first sizeable community on the Dandenong Tourist Road coming from Melbourne. Olina was a few more kms away.
- Mia (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous location, comfortable, clean
- Armando (10/5): Perfect getaway in the enchanted forest... will come back anytime! - Location is one of the best if you want to explore the Dandenong range, there is an excellent bakehouse only 1 km away, plus all the businesses from Sassafras in a short walk distance. Nature surrounds the house completely, and you feel like waking up in an enchanted forest, with plenty of natural light and birds whistling outside. Decoration and equipment at the house are fantastic, not a single detail is spared! Access road is not easy to spot when you come for the first time, but that's part of its charm and I wouldn't consider it a problem... quite the opposite as it increases the privacy sensation. Perhaps I would advise a higher temperature set up on the heating for chilly nights, but the electric blankets at the bed were fantastic, and the fireplace very easy to use!
- Colla (10/5): Treehouse Love - the home was beautifully furnished, clean and in a great location that we could not explore the treeline behind the house
- Asha (10/5): Highly recommended hideaway in the forest - Spectacular location, very clean and comfortable home.
- Jean (9/5): Loved the Treehouse - Communication was excellent. The Treehouse met all our expectations. Our daughters loved the round swivel chair for reading. The bed linen was beautiful. Central heating was amazing not that we needed it on as we had lovely easter weather. We love the Dandenongs so much to see and do. We will definitely come back to the Treehouse. The outside lighting on the steps to the house were not working but we managed ok.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was awesome, it was a lot more than i expected and the best part was we were able to bring the fur babies and they enjoyed their stay too.
- Deborah (10/5): Tranquil Tree House - Beautiful, clean amazing house. All the amenities you will need for your stay.
A tranquil view from the back deck and main bedroom. Location to the shops for a cuppa and scones is just a short stroll down the road. Owner was great to communicate with. We had a lovely time and would definately return.
- Kezah (10/5): What a pleasant, relaxing stay at the sassafras treehouse.will definitley be back! - Everything! Location, amenities and ambience. Nothing. Loved everything about it.
- Marie (8/5): Very good - Great location. Wonderful outlook from rear deck.
Clean, comfy, warm with lots of natural light Driveway a little tricky.
Lots if steps which not suitable for young children or elderly
- Tracey (10/5): A Unique Beautiful Space. - Stunning location with quirky touches that made it unique. It was spacious for four adults and well equipped for our (all to short) stay. Tricky turning into Treehouse from the road.
The stay was too short!
- Peter (10/5): Terrific Treehouse Stay - Awesome Treehouse. Right amongst tree tops
3 levels , all with different aspects. Great kitchen, all amenities. Great lounge room, outside deck, undercover parking
Great little village of Sassafrass just down the road. Olinda just a little further We coped easily, but stairs could be an issue if mobility is a problem.
- Kisten (9/5): The perfect tranquil place for my nervous daughter to get ready for her wedding. Thankyou Lorenna☺️ - Beautifully located, serene and the decor was lovely. I loved how the treehouse was set on three open levels with plenty of big windows to see the magnificent Sassafrass forest🧘🏻🍃🍂 Nothing. It was really nice. One small thing though: the front door knob was broken and came off when we attempted to open the door.
- Craig (9/5): We had a great and relaxing time. - In a quiet location with easy access to local shops. Very clean and comfortable accommodation.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - The locality.
Its a special place.
The lady who owns the place was a delight to engage with.
Recommended. Nothing
- Parvinder (7/5): Decent for a short stay - Good size house for a short stay. Can accommodate up to 5 people with 2 double and 1 single bed spread across 3 rooms. Clean kitchen and bathrooms. Close to most sights in the Dandenong Ranges. The sofas, cushions, rugs and dining chairs could do with a deep clean. Their use is visible. A deep clean would brighten them up and make guests appreciate the cleanliness. Despite being able to sleep 5 people, the hot water ran out one evening when 2 people were showering, meaning the 3rd in our party had to wait a while before they showered.
- Maria (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would sincerely love to go back without the family for some me- time - A very intriguing place, nestled into the hillside - I truly thought I was in a treehouse!! Spacious, well- appointed and generous with amenities. I appreciate that they are probably high-end sheets but the linen sheets are not vey nice to sleep on. Much prefer a high thread count cotton sheet.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Mat (9/5): I'll be coming back soon! - Everything about the property was great. The comfort and cosiness - but also a little bit classy and really nice.
- Jannine (9/5): Lovely atmosphere set amongst the trees. We stayed during a very hot period.. one air conditioner in kitchen.. one older - Beautiful environment set amongst the trees Lack of fans as it was very hot.
- Armaiti (10/5): Cosy comfortable and just what I needed! - The host communicated beautifully and it was easy to retrieve the keys. The home was done up tastefully and had little warm touches like music playing softly when we entered and a lovely aroma diffuser working to keep the home smelling good. Beds were super comfy and the birds around the property were lovely to watch. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful cabin in the trees. - Lovely situation overlooking a beautiful, treed valley with tons of birdsong and a beautiful 'vibe'. The house was so comfy and well-appointed. We were able to bring our fur friend and human friends. It was a short walk to the village and a short drive to other attractions while remaining private and quiet. We had a small snafu with a bedroom door locking unexpectedly but we were able to resolve it while chatting with the owner on the phone. It was very clearly an unusual event and we all just got busy honing our lock picking skills (and it worked!)
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - This was an amazing stay. Will definitely be coming back The driveway was a bit step for my car.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning location nestled amongst the trees. We had a wonderful two night stay and cooked fresh salmon and rainbow trout caught nearby.
Everything was comfortable and a great location to venture out to see local sights.
- Nicole (9/5): We had a fantastic time, the place was so clean and we loved the fireplace with lots of firewood. - Thanks we had a great time. We made our own dinner one night and relaxed in front of the wood fireplace. Itt was great to have plenty of wood and kindling etc to get the fire lit and better still it was already to set up ready to light. We enjoyed exploring locally and had a walk around the botanic gardens which was really good. We had a wedding the next night. It was great to have a checkout time of 11am so we did not need to rush in the morning. We would certainly recommend to others and use again. Loved the electric blankets. If possible another new frying pan would be useful for those wishing to cook in.
Also another occasional chair in the living area would be great but I realise that may be too expensive.
- Brooke (10/5): Charming home with tranquil views - Such a tranquil location. A natural light filled home with views that make you feel calm instantly. A charming home with everything to make my stay a relaxing one. The wood fire was a lovely addition on the rainy nights.
- Nicky (10/5): Tranquility at its best! - Sassafras Treehouse is nestled amongst the tranquil forest with only a 5 minute walk into Sassafras Village offering many boutique shops and cafes. The accommodation was warm, cosy, comfortable and clean. An ideal place to come and relax!
- Karina (10/5): Definitely will come back to this property and recommend to family and friends.Lorenna was the perfect host always in co - It was clean, cosy and very peaceful.
Very well decorated and the fire made it super warm.
Beautiful views and loved how the pets were allowed too.
- Sonya (10/5): Fantastic stay with my daughters in the trees in beautiful Sassafras - The treehouse is so beautifully set up and really does look out to the treetops It wears all good, except that the fire was very hard to light due to lack of kindling and smaller logs
- Brooke (10/5): What a beautiful place to stop and relax. - The ambience of the house was wonderful and perfect for a quick getaway with friends.
- Crouch (10/5): The most serene peaceful inviting haven - thank you for providing a recharge for our tired souls 🙏 - Such a special place - a real haven amongst the treetops. The view from the rear of the property is stunning! So clean and beautifully presented. Will definitely be back for some more cleansing of the soul. Just a suggestion….to have kindling available to use to help start the fire. Some people aren’t comfortable using an axe to chop/split wood - we luckily had someone who was able to do it.
Plus tissues perhaps could be offered?
- Maillard (10/5): Exceptional - Treehouse experience. Beautifully designed. Comfortable and relaxing Not much not to dislike.

- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Comfort. Location. Friendly host Difficult to locste the address
- Jenny (10/5): Great place for getaway and detoxing from your phone. Fantastic experience and would like to go back again. - Beautifully designed and maintained tree house, the view is divine as hidden from the main road and surrounded by high trees and all natural beauty. These is no dislike about the place. Just be aware during summertime small creatures like ants, flies, moths and mozzies maybe around.
- Smiti (9/5): nice and relaxing, set up in natural surroundings - Location was the best, very relaxing, and some special things like music and nice kitchen Parking was a bit tricky,as our car was low and not 4 wheel
- Jan (10/5): 2 couples staying .family getaway. - Location was great. A short walk to local cafes /shops. Space in property was lovely.we had plenty of room to sit together and eat/watch tv.but also room to have our own time. (2 couples.) Can't add anything here .the stay was perfect.
