Samira (10/5): Liebevoll restauriertes Hotel in Toplage mit tollem Service. - Es hat uns total gut gefallen im Linden Centre bei Brian, den wir sogar persönlich kennenlernen konnten, zu übernachten. Es ist wirklich beeindruckend mit wie viel Liebe er die Unterkunft im alten Stil renoviert hat und mit wie viel Engagement er die lokale Gemeinschaft unterstützt. Auch das Personal im Linden Centre ist extrem hilfsbereit und spricht gutes Englisch. Xizhou ist zwar mittlerweile etwas kommerzialisiert, jedoch immer noch eine tolle Lage, um den Erhai See und die Umgebung von Dali zu erkunden. Brian hat uns außerdem noch eine Wanderung in Shaxi empfohlen und wir haben das Linden Centre dort angeschaut. Eine eindrucksvolle Architektur mitten in der Natur, eine Übernachtung lohnt sich sicherlich. Es hat alles rundherum gepasst und der etwas höhere Preis ist unserer Ansicht nach vertretbar.

Rachel (10/5): Amazing hotel for a stay near Dali. - Great location - just a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of Xizhou. Good food, nice ambiance, cool bar area and relaxing tatami room. Great terrace overlooking the fields. Brian and Jeanne Linden were on hand. Very charismatic and passionate about their string of Linden Centre projects. So much so that when we left en route to Lijiang we called in for lunch at another Linden centre hotel near Shaxi which was stunning- if I came back to Yunnan - will definitely stay here. Like all Chinese towns Xizhou is overrun by tourists - but in the evenings or early morning it is simply delightful to walk around the town. We also hired bikes near the lake and had a fun afternoon cycling around. There are two sites in Xizhou and my son was able to access the fantastic gym and we saw people were taking part in the cooking school. Thoroughly recommend the Linden Centre. Nothing - it was all quite lovely.
Armin (10/5): Aussergewöhnliche schöne Unterkunft - Wunderschöne Oase der Ruhe in einem historischen Gebäude. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Die Gastgeberfamilie Linden nimmt sich persönlich Zeit für ihre Besucher. Die Gassen in der Altstadt sind nachmittags stark frequentiert.

Catherine (10/5): Hôtel beau comme un musée, comme figé dans le temps. Et environnement nature au top ! - Cet hôtel n'est pas à Dali mais à une trentaine de kilomètre, à Xizhou et ça fait toute la différence. dali est bruyante et un peu surfaite. Xizhou c'est au milieu des rizières, plus calme et pourtant attrayant, avec ses petites boutiques, ses restos. Et son louer de super VTT pour partir à l'assaut du lac Erhai, le longer, voir les villages et comment les habitants y font la fête tout le week-end.
Zu Xian (10/5): Great team, fantastic hospitality - Beautiful place in a traditional Bai courtyard house. The service is impeccable, and the team there is fantastic. Our stay came with a free afternoon tea set and a tour around Xizhou in the morning. Xizhou is also 2km from the shores of Lake Erhai, which I highly recommend over staying in Dali Old Town.

Christopher (10/5): - Perfect stay! Staff were incredibly helpful, especially DanDan, who gave us a free market tour and tour of the building- having that time with her meant we learnt so much we wouldn't have otherwise. Breakfast was delicious, as was the welcome drink, which we took as a tea set on the terrace- a perfect way to spend the afternoon after a morning of sightseeing. The location is perfect- in Xizhou town- a beautiful spot surrounded by rice fields- out of the hustle and bustle of Dali, but close enough for easy sightseeing. Beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. I wish I was back there now! Nothing!

Leonard (10/5): Pleasant and well rested. - Clean, rustic and quiet. Staff is very friendly and attended to our needs. Hotel owner is also very friendly. He greeted us in the morning, helped his staff to serve breakfast and chatted with us. The hotel is located in Xizhou ancient town. It’s a short car ride from erhai lake where we took a boat ride to Shuanglang ancient town. I believe the hotel room rates are more expensive compared to other hotels or accommodations in the vicinity. However, the comfort and privacy more than compensated for the elevated prices.

Pan (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great experience for me and my family. The location is great, and meeting Brian was the highlight for my kids. It was truly a privilege to be able to step back in time and spent a few nights here. Everything was great!
