Divina (5/5): We enjoyed staying at the place close to skytrain station. People are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed eating at cafeter - Property is accessible to shopping centers and train station. Staff are friendly. Air condition is good. Fair sanitation , found some stains on blankets and pillows, slippers has smell . We can’t find somebody at the reception during our check out. We need to call The owners number who took time to answer too.

Mary Abigail (4/5): Would not going back to this place. - The price is unmatched but would not go back even though the price is really low. Can easily make a deal to a late check out without any fee because they messed up. The place was gross and dirty. The building was so sketchy, at 1 or 2 AM, people were up and trying to hustle. I felt so vulnerable in this place, like anytime someone can go inside my room. I have messaged the host that we are arriving at 1 in the morning expecting that we are still going to get 2 twin beds in one room but we were given 1 small bed in a very small room even though I payed a "late check in fee". The caretaker states "because we were late" but I showed him the messaged that the host is "OK" with it but still argued that no one checks in to a hotel/place at 1 in the morning.

It cost me £220~ for a 6 night stay, there are cheaper options for far better. - Air conditioned room Good location to take star ferry and reach the train station Very unclean room with cockroaches and mouldy shower. Toilet is located in the shower making it always wet. Building smells of smoke. Lift is very slow and requires queueing to use. Many people on the ground floor and street constantly trying to sell me other accomodation in the same building. You can't go anywhere without being called out to or people trying to stop you.

Rama Rao (1/5): simply horrible and waste of money - They moved us to another property strawberry guest house. It's horrible and many Cockroches (50+). Booked for 4 days, but family could not stay and children were in trauma. So next day took imperial Hotel for another 3 days. Utter waste of money, but staff gave their excuses. Corridor is horribly smell. It's a big scam and booking.com didn't allow me to cancel. Given different property which is 1 star. Cockroaches every where and no water for flush and no proper hot water

mgwlkp (1/5): - Don't book a room here. The room and the entire building are terrible! If you plan to live with bugs, cockroaches and rats, this is the property for you. The room is so small that there is nowhere to even put a suitcase! Queues for the elevator were at least 20 minutes long, only 1 elevator was working. The shower is above the toilet, after the shower everything is flooded.

Not as described, I booked a suite expecting that it will be a private suite with two bedrooms as per what is written in the description. What we got were two separate standard rooms and the ammenities mentioned are no where near what was described. Photo’s of the rooms were also fraudulent. Only good thing about it was the location.

Christopher (5/5): Did not get to stay at Shangri-La - check-in was fraught; pleasant host, well-maintained property. - First, this isn't a review of Shangri-La GH bec we did not stay there. We were assigned a different GH called Om, which is on a lower floor (9th as opposed to 15th). It is quiet and has a common fridge, microwave, hot/cold water dispenser & Lipton teabags. Manager/owner was nice and hospitable - gave us extra cup & hangers and a small table. Small box-type aircon a little noisy but wall-mounted fan is quiet and effective (great for the environmentally-conscious!). Bathroom clean with quick-dry tiles and modern fixtures. Hot water boiler but we did not use it as it was summer. We stayed in room 4 which has windows looking out onto nearby buildings and Nathan Road - this is a treat as many Chungking Mansion rooms have no windows! 1. At check-in we were told the room wasn't ready, despite our having given notice via booking.com that we would check-in between 5-6pm (normal check-in time 2pm). As it was nearly 6pm and we were tired, we accepted the owner's offer of a room in another GH he owns called Om, but it was in another block in Chungking Mansion so we had to carry our backpacks back down block B (where Shangri-La is), walk halfway round CKM to block D (where Om GH is), and wait for another lift. This practice of checking guests into GHs/motels which they did not book seems rampant in HK, especially at the lower end of the market. 2. Cockroaches. The lower the floor, the larger the cockcroaches, and the more there are. There are many restaurants in CKM. 3. Neighbours who smoke. Somehow the smoke gets in even if you don't open your door or windows!
