• Claudia (10/5): - Die Lage des Quiet Gate Guesthouse mitten in den Feldern der Westbank von Luxor mit fantastischem Rundumblick vor allem von der Dachterrasse aus, hat mir äußerst gut gefallen. Man verlebt dort sehr ruhige und erholsame Tage und Nächte. Der Blick auf die Berge mit den beleuchteten Gräbern der Noblen ist vor allem bei Dunkelheit atemberaubend. Das Personal und der Besitzer sind ausgesprochen freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank! Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Da ich auf Grund von Rücken- und Hüftgelenksproblemen nicht mehr sehr beweglich bin, gab es für mich einen kleinen Wermutstropfen: ich hätte so gern täglich den Pool benutzt, aber habe mich nicht getraut, einzusteigen, da die Leiter für mich zu wenig tief in den Pool hineinging. Ich hatte Angst, nicht mehr aussteigen zu können. Anderen jüngeren Gästen bereitete dieses jedoch keine Probleme. Aber eventuell könnte ja eine zusätzliche längeren Leiter zum Einsteigen angebracht werden für die ältere Generation.

• Cátia (6/5): Limpeza deixa muito a desejar - O alojamento fica muito bem localizado numa zona de prados verdejantes e vista desafogada. Pela manhã é possível ver os balões de ar quente passar enquanto tomamos o pequeno almoço no topo do edifício. A piscina é óptima para os dias de maior calor. A comida é maravilhosa e foi das melhores que comemos em todo o Egipto, tanto que acabamos por fazer todas as refeições no alojamento. Para ir e vir do cais do ferry em Luxor basta apanhar um tuk tuk por 50egp cada trajeto. O uber não funciona nessa zona pois estão sempre a tentar extorquir mais dinheiro (comum nos egipcios sempre a tentar enganar os turistas pois para eles somos carteiras abertas com dinheiro) com mensagens privadas mas o In Drive é uma excelente alternativa (em todo o Egipto na verdade). A propriedade disponibiliza passeios a todas as atrações na localidade mas confirmem bem os preços pois encontrámos sempre mais barato noutros locais. Penso que eles inflacionam bastante os preços. No primeiro dia chegamos bastante cedo ao alojamento, deixamos as mochilas e fomos diretos fazer passeios. Quando chegámos, exaustos pelas 16h só queríamos tomar um banho. Deram-nos um quarto no andar cá em baixo junto da piscina, absolutamente horrível. Cheirava a tabaco, o colchão afundava no meio sendo impossível de dormir nele, o chuveiro estava estragado e o quarto parecia um buraco sem luz. Horrível. Ainda tivemos de esperar 1h para que o proprietário arranjasse o chuveiro - teve o dia todo para o fazer mas ainda assim tivemos de esperar - e quando fomos para tomar banho não havia água quente pois o proprietário se esqueceu de ligar o botão da caldeira. Tivemos de esperar ainda mais meia hora por um banho quente. Tivemos uma noite horrível naquele colchão que afundava com lençóis a cheirar a tabaco que culminou com sermos acordados às 5h da manhã por outros hóspedes que achavam que ali era a recepção. Depois ainda ficaram todos a conversar ali o que tornou impossível dormir. Foi horrível ter ficado naquele quarto. Evitem o quarto duplo com casa de banho do rés-do-chão. No dia seguinte depois de nos queixarmos o proprietário passou-nos para um quarto dois andares acima, com janelas grandes e colchões como deve ser, mas uma vez mais sentimos que a limpeza deixava muito a desejar. Acho que o alojamento tem imenso potencial pela localização, boa comida, terraço no andar de cima e piscina mas realmente faz falta bastante limpeza. Não vimos ninguém passar um pano numa mesa, uma vassoura no chão das escadas ou até uma esfregona. Foi o sítio mais sujo onde ficamos em todo o Egipto, o que é uma pena.

I went up and it was occupied by a couple. They left the same sheets on the bed. The terrace area was extremely dirty. Uber service doesn't operate in the area.

• Julien (10/5): - Superbe séjour au Quiet Gates Guest House. Si l’hôtel ne paye pas de mine à première vue, mais il s’est agréablement découvert au fur et à mesure de notre séjour tant il accumule les à côté positifs. Pour commencer, la vue dont on jouïe depuis le rooftop sur les montagnes abritant la vallée des rois est tout bonnement à couper le souffle. Et quand s’élève les montgolfières au petit matin pour survoler ce paysage, on a vraiment le sentiment de vivre un moment magique La nourriture (spécialement les petits déjeuners dont on a largement profité mais également les autres repas), était un véritable régale Par ailleurs, l’hôte se coupe vraiment en quatre pour organiser nos excursions (voiture et guide le cas échéant) en fonction de nos besoins, à des prix parfaitement raisonnables, ce qui a été un véritable confort pendant notre séjour Enfin en ce qui concerne la localisation, je craignais que l’hôtel ne soit trop excentré mais il n’en est rien. Si effectivement rejoindre la Est Bank coûte un petit billet compte tenu de la distance, nous sommes en revanche à proximité des principales attractions de la West Bank. À noter que l’hôtel est également à 5 min à pied d’un petit village où se trouve plusieurs excellents restaurants ainsi que les colosses de Memmon !

La vue du toit terrasse est juste fantastique ! La famille est très sympa et a fait tout son possible pour répondre à nos attentes. Nous avons mangé sur place et c’était bon et avec un bon rapport qualité prix. L’établissement serait encore mieux avec quelques réparations mieux finies, notamment dans l’une des salles de bains. L’équipe est très à l’écoute pour améliorer l’expérience des clients et nous sommes certains que la gesthouse va monter en gamme.

• Matthew (10/5): A peaceful, welcoming stay on Luxor’s West Bank, combining beautiful rural surroundings with easy access to the main sit - We had a really lovely stay at this guesthouse and would gladly recommend it to anyone coming to Luxor who’s looking for something quiet and genuine. The hosts are kind, open, and sincere, and there’s an easy warmth to the place that makes you feel welcome right away. The rooftop was a real highlight, with beautiful views of the Theban Hills and the surrounding countryside. The guesthouse sits right at the edge of the village, where the houses fade into green fields, and being surrounded by farmland gives it a calm, rural feel that’s deeply relaxing. The location is excellent. It’s an easy walk to the Colossi of Memnon, and the walk toward the Valley of the Kings takes you through sugarcane fields, which is an experience in itself. You’re close to all the main West Bank sites, yet the area stays peaceful and free from traffic and crowds. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, including reliable hot water, and nothing felt lacking. Breakfast was excellent and clearly made with care, with a generous and varied spread each morning. Having it included in the room price was a real bonus. Overall, this guesthouse offers the best of both worlds: close to the sights you come to Luxor for, but peaceful, rural, and full of local character. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Gündüzleri balonlar hemen önünüzde oluyor ve yeşil alanın üzerinde çok güzel manzara oluyor. Çevre sakin ve sessiz kaostan uzak. Konumu krallar vadisi ve memnon heykellerine ve balonların kalkış alanına yakın. Binanın içinde bunaltıcı bir sıcak var her ne kadar odanızı klima ile serinletebilseniz de kertenkelelerden dolayı cam açamıyorsunuz ve havalandıramıyorsunuz. Binanın her yerinde kertenkeleler var. Zararsız olsalarda biraz korkutucu olabiliyor.

Having breakfast up there while watching the hot-air balloons come down in the morning is such a beautiful way to start the day. You even get a lovely view of the Temple of Hatshepsut. The location is perfect: very close to the Valley of the Kings, making it easy to get there, and there are several places to eat just around the corner. The staff were incredibly kind and caring. They really look after their guests, always available when you need something, yet never intrusive. Breakfast was also delicious. /

• Laura (10/5): Our Luxor experience - This is not your average 5 star hotel - it's much more. This is people opening their house and arms to have you as their guests and to go above and beyond. You are looked after so well, they will help you to organize everything you need, and the food is fantastic. The location of the house is so nice and quiet but also you get to see the balloons and some parts of local life. It's truly amazing. If you want to experience Luxor in a true way, this is the place.

He profides guiding services and offers the most competitive prices in Luxor for all touristic activities. Dare to pass the gate, you will experience a blink of the deep and real egyptian inner culture and traditional cuisine. A peaceful place to relax from the hectic, spinning and harassing Luxor. A touch of eternity on the rooftop with an impregnable and breathtaking view on « The King’s Valley ». Of course, it’s not a 5* hotel, but it’s by far a much more insightful and meaningful human experience that what most of the luxury mass touristic industry has to offer. Nothing, it was just great.

• Hannah (10/5): Literally a quiet place to stay. - Family operated guesthouse. The owner and the family are very thoughtful. If you need a place away from a busy day this place is good for you. The rooftop view is amazing specially early morning as you can view the balloons flying all over the place. At the moment still on going construction ‘I think’. So there’s a lot of room to improve. If you want to help small businesses then it would be great. For backpackers I think it’s okay. Mohammed the owner is really helpful. The location is not easy to access if you don’t have private transportations. (But if you do have, then no issues). The room that we avail, bedsheets and pillow covers seems not changed as we see hairs on the pillows and sheets… The door lock needs to be replaced. It helps the guests feel safer.

Mahmoud was very kind and went above and beyond for us. The views are absolutely stunning and I suggest waking up early in the morning to view the hot air balloons over the valley of the kings. Mahmoud kindly let us check out late as we had a flight to catch, I would highly recommend staying here. Room and facilities very neat and tidy. Pool was amazing to enjoy on a hot day. 100/100.

The terrace is very beautiful and big and makes the whole place feel very cozy. The highlight was definitely eating breakfast at sunrise while hundreds of balloons were flying in the background. Mahmoud, the manager of the place, was very kind and helpful. He even took us on a sunset boat ride across the Nile to banana island for just a few bucks, which was also amazing. Unfortunately the bathroom and the bed were not really that clean.
