Guest Reviews
- Gayle (10/5): Sweet Cabin in the woods - The cabin is very unique and nicely designed. We liked the woodstove, which added to the cozy mountain feel. The beds were fine and all the snuggly blankets felt good, for a change in Costa Rica. The kitchen was well equipped and the front porch overlooking the grounds was a sweet spot to sip coffee (bring some!!) in the morning. We thought it works be nice if there was a canister of ground coffee there to go with the coffee maker!! Most people want coffee in the morning.

- Melanie (8/5): - The property was beautiful and well maintained. The fireplace was a nice bonus. The shower had hot water. There was sufficient amenities in the kitchen to use. There needs to be more attention to cleanliness. Dusting the spider webs regularly.

- Mucho verde. Silencioso. Cocina bien equipada. Pablo respondió a casi todas las necesidades. Acceso bueno.

- Pamela (9/5): Superb - Amazing place to stay! A cute weekend to disconnect from the city
- Tracey (10/5): Secluded and unique accommodation - What a unique and special experience! If you love being close to nature and enjoy the rustic experience, then don’t hesitate to book this magical place. It was so tranquil and the hosts are super friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. So glad we stayed here!
- Julie (8/5): Quiet and private unique cabins at a good price close to Volcan Poas. - The cabins are very cute and comfortable. Each one is unique and some are of sculpted cement and others of wood. The garden is large and immaculately kept. My cabin had a literal waterfall shower. The furnishings are a little dated but just fine.
- Katy (9/5): Peaceful and beautiful - Beautiful location, a little further out from the noisy touristy center
The garden around the cabin is lovely and peaceful
Loved the cabin - very cute and comfortable Dogs barking a lot of night wasn't ideal
- George (8/5): Beautiful well-kept grounds, adequate comfort - The cabanas were located on a beautifully maintained property containing lots of shade flowers, and grassy areas. The lodges were occupied were close to each other allowing easy visits. The main lodge had a nice kitchen and a dining area with a fireplace which we used every night as it became chilly after sundown. There were many birds in the trees, but it was otherwise quiet. The bath and shower area was large and comfortable, and well contained so water did not spray outside the shower area. The on-demand hot water for the showers were not easy to use. The lighting in all of the rooms and the kitchen was rather dim. The beds, while large, were very soft, and not very comfortable to our taste. We had to drive to go to groceries or eat at restaurants. The town was close, but required a car to get to.
- Jana (10/5): Amazing value for money - Beautiful location in a beautiful forest, nice interior, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. It was a bit chilly at night because the windows weren’t sealed very well.
- Nora (9/5): Superb - Very special night there, we moved it, very nice and helpful hosts!
- Thomas (2/5): Very dirty, smelly and damp, with no hot water. - Beautiful area, and the cabins could have a lot of potential. We rented two cabins and both cabins were unacceptably dirty!! They smelt very bad, and were visibly not cleaned: even Blood on the sheets!! Both showers had no hot water, and one was electrocuting when you turned it on. One of the cabins smelt like sewage.
- Gjiménez (10/5): Perfect escape! - This property is a 10 of 10!
Beautiful landscape, very effective communication with the host, Pablo (the guy in charge) was super helpful and very polite. We decided to stay one more night and definitely we will be back!
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (10/5): Peaceful, delightful place to stay while exploring the Poas area. - Beautiful grounds, alot of attention to detail in the plantings, walkways, etc. Quaint cabins. The caretaker brought us firewood and built a fire for us in the fireplace. Quite a nice touch.
- Mercedes (9/5): Quiet stay in a beautiful place. - Nice, quiet and clean. Beautiful surroundings. A little bit small for 6 people.
- Chantale (10/5): Exceptional - Such a cute spot! The owners were absolutely fantastic and accommodating. We didn’t think we would use the fireplace but it got quite chilly at night!
- Michael (4/5): Watch your step - dog poop everywhere. - The fireplace. Falling apart, half the light bulbs missing, super uncomfortable pillows, dog all over the property defecating everywhere for you to step in.
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (9/5): Quiet, peaceful retreat near Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall - Location was wonderful. Grounds are beautiful. Plenty of room for children to run. Staff response is immediate. Refrigerator did not work. There was a beautiful hot tub area but it was not working. That would be an added value to your stay.
- Johnson (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Daniela (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice quiet location, just a few cabins in a well-maintained garden. Authentic and cosy cabin. The host was very nice and attentive.
We went for a dinner to a nearby La Hilda restaurant and we liked it very much.
- Jeanne (5/5): Passable - Beautiful nature, very quiet Water was too cold to shower, beds only had a fitted bedsheet (no top sheets and some pillow cases missing), kitchen lacked basic supplies so we could not use. The whole property is also a bit strange (seemed like off-season, although we visited during peak time)
- Joanna (9/5): Superb - Very nice area, houses surrounded by nature. Close to Poas National Park. House well equipped, there is everything you need for staying few days and relax. Good contact with owner
- Michael (10/5): Lots of love and fun put into this location! - This property is just plain fun. The proprietor has put a lot of work into creating a very unique place to relax and unwind. Our cabin was very comfortable with lots of little touches that added some real personality and joy to the room. He provided wood for the fireplace in the corner, which we used both nights we were there. The area surrounding the cabin is beautifully manicured, with a garden, some statues and small gazebos scattered around. A joy to be there. There are some very friendly dogs on the property. I loved hanging out with them a little bit. That said, they are early risers. A pair of earplugs was nice to have on hand to try and avoid the early morning wake-up call.
