Nik (3/5): - The location is easy access to all main areas. The balcony was a nice space. Pool area was very quiet. The key collection process is not as described, very time consuming and costly. If you don't have a car, you'll need to get three taxis. One to get to where you have to pay the security holding deposit. Then one to get to where the keys are located, then one back to the apartment. All in very different locations around Salou. It takes well over an hour to complete this process, please be aware. 50% of the lights and plug sockets didn't work at all. One of the showers hit you with an electric shock every time you had to touch the temp control, on / off switch and the shower head. The Kettle was unusable due to the amount of lime scale inside. Freezer was in very poor condition. Broken shutters for the balcony and left actually on the balcony in a pile, which was a hazard. There is a very horrible smell to the entire apartment, coming from the boiler area in the kitchen. There was power cut on the very first evening with no instructions where the fuse box was located. I had to ring the company managing the apartment and on the 4th occasion they answered. Luckily I found the fuse box and got the power working again. The very worst aspect about this apartment is the scam or feels like a scam, about returning your refundable 500 Euros security holding deposit. You cannot pay in cash so it has to be a card payment. They will only return the deposit 7 days after you have left the apartment. (In my case it took 9 days and I had to chase for it) but this is where they smash you with a 70 Euro hit on the exchange rate which means you only get back approximately 420 - 430 Euros, not the fully refundable security holding deposit. This apartment is not clean and very poorly maintained which is a real shame! There are no beds, chairs or anywhere to sit round the swimming pool. Not a single item. I very much doubt I would stay here again for this price.
Mike (8/5): Spacious apartment with a great location. - The apartment and location were very good. Everything was clean on arrival and very comfortable. The view from the balcony was great and the apartment itself was spacious and allowed a family of 5 adults to relax comfortably. Just before arrival, we were notified that the keys could not be collected any earlier than after 16:30 (previously notified that this had to be from the Vila-Seca office). We had hoped to collect these on the way from Reus airport but could not due to our arrival time. We then had to source additional travel to get to the office at a later time after arrival. Although staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the apartment had no instructions regarding emergency contacts or instructions to help in case of emergency. This was apparent when the apartment’s electricity trip switch went off and we could not locate the circuit board. We had to ask help from another resident who found the switch hidden behind a picture on the wall. We were able to ask for help as we could speak Spanish however for non- Spanish speakers, this might have been very difficult. One other slight issue was that there were no consumable amenities in the apartment such as washing up liquid, soap etc, although toilet rolls were available.
