• Karen (6/5): Good stay but could have been better. - Welcome pack of water, coffee and biscuits in apartment along with hand wash in bathroom and a bar of soap. 297 LE electricity on the meter and lasted for 10 days. Full details given for key pick up at reception. Apartment has fully equipped kitchen although the addition of a toaster and a microwave would be good. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the TV is small. It’s a 32 inch TV but has lots of foreign language channels but is not a smart TV. WiFi payable at Reception and worked quite well for the time we stayed. Beware though, power cuts knock out the WiFi too. Small shop by Reception for basic shopping. We did our main shop at Bestway Supermarket in Sahl Hasheesh. Reception arranged the free shuttle bus to take us there and collect us. Irina, the managing agent, was helpful and very responsive via WhatsApp at all times. We ate at the restaurant La Rocca a few times where the food is excellent. We had lunch at Al Mastaba Cafe which was good. We also used both restaurants for dinner deliveries. Our second time at Azzura which we think is a perfect location if you want a relaxing holiday. We booked the apartment mainly because we wanted to use the amazing sun terrace. We prefer total privacy and did not want to use the pool or beach. Unfortunately the two sun loungers on the terrace were damaged and unusable. Irina tried her best to get them replaced quickly and we had one new one delivered after four days. She tried to get another from Azzura but it didn’t materialise. For anyone with mobility issues there are lots of steps to access the apartment. 17 steps up from the road and then around 42 steps from the entrance to the apartment. There is a lot of building work going on at the moment so very noisy during the day. Also the sun terrace is overlooked by apartment behind. We also couldn’t find the hot water heater switch on arrival. It is at the bottom of the cupboard where the water heater is housed behind all the cleaning equipment. A note about where the switch is would have avoided us contacting Irina late at night.
