Guest Reviews
- Ellen (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Very attentive. Breakfast was very good. Very small room. No hooks on the walls for towels or for clothing. No place to hang anything.
- Patricia A (1/5): They canceled a week before due to construction needs - They canceled due to construction not being complete. I was notified a week in advance They canceled due to construction needs.

- brian (2/5): Nice placebit - Lovely staff The noise from the street was unbelievable, i couldn't sleep
- Reinhard (8/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Helpful owners addressed my concerns and helped me settle in - Location Nothing
- Mark (1/5): Sleepless in Santiago - Nothing. The place is running a scam. We booked a room with a 3 star rating months before our trip. Then we get notified while we are walking the Camino with limited resources. They say they set us up with another room but they never let us know where. Oh they said it was comparable to their establishment.
My wife and I had just finished a 13 day 200 mile hike through Portugal and Spain we wanted a nice place to stay after such a tiring journey. What we got was trash. I've stayed in better fleebags motels for half the cost.
When.we got to where we' were booked by them they didn't know who we were. They spoke no English only Spanish. She takes us two blocks away and gives us some room that isn't even in a hotel. It was like somebodies spare bedroom. Then she says she wants 65 euro. No credit card only cash. Then we don't get a receipt or anything. The TV didn't work. The shower spray handle wouldn't stay up. It would just lower all the way down so it was pointed at your feet.
There were plenty of other places that we could have stayed at but I'm sure this place would charge us a no show fee when they were the ones that couldn't provide service to us. It was such a scam.
Plus a last minute of reserving a room on a major national holiday would cost us triple.
And why didn't they cancel the room confirmation.? Why are you asking me about staying there when we didn't. The place they said they set me up with would not return any of my messages. I'm in a country I don't know where things are, don't know the language and have limited internet access and no phone capabilities. So yes I'm not happy.
Your booking.com go look at all the messages I sent them.
So yes I am not happy with the room or my experience for the second time
Oh yeah i forgot to tell you about whoever lives in the place made a giant racket at 4 am so along with a crap room .that was a real nice

- Alan (2/5): Un satisfactory - The room was small, no room for a chair, wardrobe 2 coat hangers.
I have a wardrobe at home bigger than the Shower/Toilet, no room to turn round,
The light was on a sensor which switched off after 20 seconds, This meant showering in darkness or waving an arm above the shower door every few seconds.
Breakfast, poor selection , serve yourself from small selection of pre wrapped goods.
This is supposed to be a pilgrims hotel/hostal and at 90 euros it is a rip off.
My advice go elsewhere.
- Arthur (8/5): Very pleasant - Location and staff Separate bathrooms toilet seats were broken
- Leo (10/5): -
- Murray (8/5): Charming pensione in a lovely medieval city - The staff was exceptional. Felipe was very pleasant and helpful. He went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us with our luggage up that hill. No air conditioning. It was very hot the two days we were there.
- Penny (8/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Charles (3/5): Fabulous website, great idea, wonderful goal, but it is not there yet. - I really enjoyed an Anglican / Church of Ireland priest John Cottingham Friendly,m welcoming I was expecting a library, opportunities for fellowship, maybe a religious service. Theplace does not live up to its website. If it does, I will return and donate books and funding.
- Tetiana (9/5): -

- gregori (10/5): - L'hospitalitat
- Tanya (10/5): - The location, staff and communal breakfast were really lovely, we really enjoyed our stay
- Daniela (8/5): -
- Margo (8/5): Great hospitality and location. - The location is ideal - close to the Cathedral but very quiet. We loved how welcome we felt. It really felt like family even though we knew no one when we arrived. The staff made us feel very special and this was definitely the biggest highlight of the place. There were people from all over the world sharing the big dining room table. Very enjoyable. At first we thoght the place could use some upgrading but honestly we overlooked that once we met the staff and other guests.
- Daniel (10/5): Great stay in Santiago! - Great location, few minutes walk from Cathedral. 24h access to kitchen with a free tea / coffee / hot water! Thank you Casa Anglicana! Nothing.
- Eliot Escalante (10/5): Muy bien sitio.
- Mar (10/5): -
- IRENE (10/5): -
- Robinson (6/5): A clean place to be, great cooking facilities and outdoor courtyards. - Kitchen facilities, and breakfast included. The outdoor dining area The floor boards moved when someone in the next room walked around, was unnerving (ghost) ha ha. Staff didn’t speak English.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): This albergue is a very nice addition to our list of alternatives. We were pleased to stay there. - Location was great and breakfast was fine. We had to miss the first day as we had to catch an early train. Consequently we paid for something we did not need or use. We requested a double room and received a triple on the 3rd floor, which was inconvenient for us (age 77 and 81), and more expensive. On our second stay we were in the double room with bath, which actually became a record holder for us for being the smallest and most crowded shower, sink and toilet in one space we’d ever seen. Not sure how the limited space could be improved. I imagine the design was the best they could do.

- Ivelina (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay the last night of our Camino. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the staff, the closeness to the Cathedral. I hope to come back again.
- Jennifer (10/5): - I was made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay there again! I really appreciated the breakfast and round the clock access to coffee and tea.
- John (9/5): - Lovely staff. Bus 6 (NOT 6A which goes to the airport.) from the train/bus station to Rua de San Roque at Pracina das Penas for 1 euro will save you and your luggage a lot of walking uphill to get there. I stayed in room 105 which is on the back and faces the quiet patio. The shower is very small, so chubby checkers be advised. Bring ear plugs because the neighbors can be noisy on the stairs.
- Kathy (8/5): -
- Anne (10/5): It was an excellent choice and I would recommend it to anyone. - The comfortable, well-appointed bed and bathroom facilities.
The breakfast set up and variety of food.
Use of washing machine and dryer.
Incredibly helpful host who was attentive to my requests.
Great location, particularly with the 6A bus to the airport. I enjoyed my stay immensely.
- Raquel (10/5): - Ubicación Subir escaleras
- Josef (9/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): Nice breakfast and nice breakfast company!!! Peaceful place - apart from the Halloween weekend! :/ - It was so nice to have communal breakfast and chat with people from different parts of the world! It was cold in the bathroom!
- joaquin (7/5): -
- Frank&Tricia (10/5): - Great location. Excellent host.
Great communal space.
Very relaxed. Leaving
- Piper (10/5): - It's a home away from home.
- Debra (10/5): - Communal eating/kitchen area
- Mari (10/5): -
- Bottes Et Vélo (10/5): -
- Christiane (9/5): - Tolles Frühstück., super nettes Personal, internationales Flair, Begegnung der Kulturen
- Kirsten (10/5): -
- Katherine Toh (7/5): - Great Location , walking distance to church, great hots bathroom and noise at night , because our window facing main road
- Dayana (10/5): - Me encanto Todo bien
- Catherine (8/5): - Convenient position. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the breakfast was excellent
- Jhony (10/5): - Friendly staff N/A
- Kim (10/5): Fabulous way to end our Camiño! - This place is fantastic. It has such a warm and welcoming vibe thanks to a kind and helpful host.
Great location a few minutes walk from the cathedral yet still quiet.
Communal kitchen with complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cake.
Lovely outdoor terrace.
Free washer and drier.
And our room was great too - lovely view out the back, comfortable bed and ensuite.

- Phil (8/5): A pilgrims hostel with Anglican roots and pastoral care on tap … - A lovely ‘pension’ in the heart of the old city. Near to all the action. Caters particularly well for pilgrims on the Camino. Most of whom have reached the end of their journey and are seeking to unwind Not a lot to dislike. Bathrooms were not en-suite but there were sufficient
Could have done with a city map. But staff very helpful
- Nicole (10/5): - Sehr nettes Personal.
- Jhony (10/5): -
- Isabell (8/5): -
- Rossanne (10/5): Memorable stay - Very welcoming staff. Free coffee and snacks. Nothing was too much for the staff. They went above and beyond. Loved that there was a chaplain that hung around for a chat about our Camino experience. Excellent location. Great breakfast!! Nothing it was great
- Cristina (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): - The English poetry bookcase in my room.
Wonderful breakfast, very friendly communal area.
- Maria Elizabeth (9/5): I will definately be back and recommend to my friends. Thank you! - The location cannot be better and the atmosphere is one off authentic camino hospitality. Liked the simplicity of my room and even though the bathrooms are shared, it was convenient and clean. The self service breakfast and availability of coffee and teas are great extras! Everything was great!
