Guest Reviews
- Alice (9/5): Hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Nice setting off the road with jungle feel. - Separate cabins. Nice to have a kitchen and screened in porch.
Fans were good, but if it were much hotter than high eighties an air conditioner would be very much appreciated.
Great recommendations for booking tour to Tikal. No air conditioning. But fans worked well.
Definitely can hear road noise occasionally.
- Julia (9/5): Worth the price in a great spot and GREAT for the enviroment - This spot was a break from the bustle of the Cayes in Belize. It was appreciated to have a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a screened sitting area to enjoy the sounds of the area. The guidebook provided was super helpful and catching a taxi was affordable and easy to get to downtown and to Cahal Pech. The temperature in the evening during rainy season coupled with 1 fan was all we needed to keep ourselves cool. I LOVED the emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability here. Check in and check out were super easy, and saying the address of the stay is all you need to get taxis to understand where to take you! GREAT food/grocery/cafe options around. We were extremely satisfied with price and location. This spot functions more as a long term stay for visitors, so not so much a historic/culture experience as expected. Additionally, it is off a main road in a curated garden, so don't expect 'jungle' eco-diversity, more so 'neighborhood' eco-diversity. Do be mindful that you are in an eco-stay. Keep all food in the fridge and if you can, double bag any food waste.
- Massimo (10/5): Bellissimo - Tutto
- Jochem (9/5): - Such a nice family and location to stay. Very good descriptions of things to do, with or without official tours.
- Rebecca (10/5): Rustic little cabin in a jungle oasis in San Ignacio, walking distance to town. - Quiet jungle setting, but close to town. The cabin is rustic ( no AC), but there were lots of fans and nice touches like a bidet toilet seat, local coffee, and a hummingbird feeder outside. Walking distance to a great breakfast stand (3 minutes) and grocery (3 minutes); maybe a mile to “downtown”. Loved listening to the birds and the rain. The screened porch area is lovely and has a table for breakfast or whatever. There was nothing we didn’t like. But some people who are used to having air conditioning all the time might find it warm. You need to keep your food sealed or in the fridge due to the tiny little bugs (like all tropical places). Again not a problem - just don’t leave open food around.
- Gardner (9/5): Superb -
- Brady (8/5): Great hosts made us feel comfortable, and helped us in our stay including doing laundry, and arranging a trip to the ATM - excellent value, wonderful hosts this is a family owned and run series of cabins, not a luxury spot, so if that is your desire go elsewhere.
