Guest Reviews
- Heiner (9/5): -
- Kenia (9/5): -
- Ronette (10/5): perfect - Excellent all across the board. From the Spa, hot springs, room and activities across the street at adventure go (or something) all inclusive food was excellent!!! going back for sure!!!! everything
- Emilia (10/5): -
- Edwin (10/5): Excelent - Good food Massage and sauna should’ve been included in the all inclusive plan for more customer attraction and hotel profits
- Apu (8/5): Bien!
Gracias!
Les deseo suerte!
- Erin (9/5): - Location was fantastic for exploring all things La Fortuna. The staff were wonderful. The facility was nice, with everything on a smaller scale (you are not staying at a huge beach resort.) We also enjoyed the food! Book the excursions! Highly recommend the Twilight Safari Float, we saw so many amazing animals! The kitchen is very slow. Everyone was wonderful and the food was delicious, but they need more staff. So get to the restaurant early and order right away! Also, confirm what all inclusive you have when you arrive. There are different "levels" and options depending on the days of the week you are there (for us, the buffet was included on the weekends but during the week we were able to order from the full restaurant menu and it was included.)
- JONATHAN (5/5): Old property very expensive not good value for money - Very old property really in need of some renovation and very old and dirty rooms the all inclusive is not really worth it. Jorje was very nice and helpful and very kind
- Giovanni (8/5): - La atención del personal. Muy amables Un todo incluido con restricciones. Amenidades muy pocas
- Katarzyna (8/5): - The hotel is located on a large area. Beautiful views. Even though we visited in the middle of the season, it didn’t feel crowded. There are hot springs, and you can take part in free walks (nighttime observation of wildlife or morning birdwatching).
- Andrea (9/5): -
- Dirk (8/5): -
- Celia (9/5): Love nature and Montana de Fuego has a lot green areas+ the view of the Arenal volcan - Clean, spacious, comfortable.
- Kimberly (8/5): This place had a very convenient location, beautiful grounds, and I felt safe here - The landscaping was beautiful, the mineral baths were warm and nice More dinner selections
- Mariano (7/5): -
- Jose Pablo (10/5): -
- Marline (7/5): - I love the location and concept overall very peaceful. Staff sucks there with exception of the bell service guy who helped with location and brought the welcome drink. FD staff was just mehhhh. No excitement no warm welcome. When I paid over 300 dollar for one night in this place.
- Hilary (9/5): -
- Flores (10/5): -
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Lovely lava pool, Costa Rican adventure - Lovely bar, staff and pools Dining room a bit tired
- Saskia (7/5): Perfect location for daytrips - Location is excellent. The garden is a jungle and very interesting to explore. They really need to renovate… especially the big restaurant.
They recently opened a new small pizza restaurant next to the big one. But since they don’t tell you, no one knows…
- Paul (7/5): - The grounds were nice, including the mineral pools. The buffet food was marginal at best. Also, I didn’t like being next to the main road. If you’re seeking an eco lodge type experience, this isn’t the place.
- alkasab (6/5): Staff is nice, otherwise overpriced for what they offer. - Location was good Property set up. One restaurant, one menu. All inclusive isn't the right description for what they offer. They charge additional " obligatory" $60 per child for Christmas dinner even if you don't want to attend.
- Suki (10/5): -
- Ash (8/5): -
- Jairo (10/5): -
- Guest (7/5): Esperaba mas calidad - Desayuno excelente variedad calidad y sabor.
He visitado otros hoteles mas baratos y tienen mejor mobiliario
- Christian Omar (8/5): -
- Purvi (10/5): Beaut - Beautiful property, location and views. Breakfast is fresh and nice. Hot springs, mud bath was unique experience. Our reservation was messed up and were offered a smaller room than we originally booked. After over an hour, the manager resolved it by offering an upgraded room.
Room Lockers do not work.
No tengo ninguna queja.
- Diana (9/5): -
- Petr (8/5): - Lokalita a areál hotelu i kuchyně Vana
- Alejandro (9/5): -
- Alejandro (9/5): -
- Andreina (10/5): - Las instalaciones
- MCh.
Y Jorge hace caminatas nocturnas super entretenidas.
- Rosibel (10/5): maravilloso - desayuno excelente
- Jorge (9/5): -
- Marcos (7/5): -
- Vanessa (5/5): For what the room had, the price could have been a little lower. - The location of the hotel was good. Beds and pillows were comfy, Food was alright The washroom had a jacuzzi tub under the shower head and no shower curtain. Shower head didn't put out a lot of water. Didn't look very clean, style was dated. wifi only worked in 1 room, we had 2
- Jeanine (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was amazing!! WiFi does not work in the room.
- Cristi (10/5): Amazing view - The rooms look are really comfortable and the staff is amazing. The pool area is not too attractive and there are no spring waters in the hotel at all.
What they have as spring waters in the hotel is more like a pond.
- Yaron (4/5): Disappointing - jacuzy dirty no jets no internet.
- Diamond (5/5): Passable - I loved the location on the property I’m feel like the pictures looked better then then the actual place
- Gaurav (1/5): PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. - Location Everything else was horrible. The solar lights outside worked sometimes. So you had to walk in the dark. There is no phone in the room and they expect you to WhatsApp them with any requests. But our room didn’t have any WiFi. So we have to walk to reception for 3 days with requests. They kept saying that it will be fixed but it wasn’t. So we were without internet for 3 days. The rooms were really badly designed. With almost no lights so we have to use phone lights in the room to access the closet. The coffee maker wire was 1 ft long and would not reach the plug unless it was kept on the floor which was a challenge with a 18 month old.
The bathrooms were always wet because the floor allowed for the water to be accumulated on the bathroom floor after a shower. I can go on for how bad this place is. Do your self a favor and avoid
- Javier (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - Great places to stay with family. We got a chance to meet Coco thi sloth 🦥
- Rivas (10/5): It was amazing couple’s trip especially since we wanted to go to a place that has activities while also relaxing. - I liked that it had a little bit of everything, from different outdoor activities, to the pools and facials. The water tubing was so much fun, as well as the horse ride, zip lining etc. The staff everywhere were so kind and accommodating. lt has nothing to do with the property but it’s a bit far from the airport that’s all.
- Niva (2/5): Stay away - family room was very inconvenient and extremely bare bones. - Food in the restaurant - tasty, convenient, great service, never had to wait. Pool bar - very nice, though limited hours. Gorgeous landscaping all over the facility. Room was terrible. We stayed in the 'family' room complex. 1 large room, 3 double beds (which is what we were expecting). However - only 1 overhead ceiling light that was extremely bright. No reading lights or bed lights - very tough when kids went to bed early. Not enough towels or pillows, and never supplied despite asking. Hairdryer broke. No parking available near the room. Terrible service regarding the room. Other rooms had slippers, robes, towels, and lights. Ours had none. Felt like an extremely rustic cabin, and not worth the price.
- Ana (8/5): Beautiful mountain resort with thermal baths and great activities - The hotel and the grounds are beautiful - complete with a spacious pool, a jacuzzi and 3 thermal pools. We booked the "superior" package, which included all of our meals and an activity for each night of our stay. We opted for the tubing and a 30 minute massage, both of which I can recommend. This package also includes drinks at the pool bar, where I highly recommend trying the mango-maracuya-orange smoothie. The live music at dinner was also fantastic, with some very talented local musicians. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is typical buffet food. I would have liked to see more local food on the menu for dinner.
- Mira (4/5): Bad - The staff working in restaurant were really nice and gave excellent service during all our meals. Didn’t like the room very dark
Bathroom was tiny
Room had bugs and mosquitoes
Asked them to change light bulb but was ignored.
Awful rooms compared to the price they ask for. Would not recommend anyone to go to this resort. The rooms are very outdated and doesn’t give you a feel of staying in resort.
- Yorky (9/5): Superb - View, food
- Hazel (7/5): Location and views was amazing , be prepared to pay extra for tours that is marketed as included. - Location and views They offer all inclusive premium packages, however you have to pay additional 170$ for a tour that was supposed to be included . They rather you pay for tours then give you what’s included.
- Nikole (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the food, the pools, the jacuzzi, the staff, the room. Everything was perfect! Everything was great!
- Oscar (4/5): Disappointing - Nice view. Beautiful roads for trekking Pool bar under construction. Noise and mess. Diagusting tub with no hot water at the room.
- Joanna (2/5): OVERALL, in my opinion the cost for this resort is not justifiable without access to a pool. Only a tiny bar with limite - Courteous staff (mostly); great views, but…..NO POOL!!! Read below THE PROPERTY:
We had initially had booked 2 days but decided to add an extra day to be able to enjoy more of the property and get in a few excursions. It is marketed well. I paid $2180 for 3.5 days of all inclusive. That being said, we were pretty disappointed with what was actually available at the property. The main pool with the swim up bar was under construction so aside from 3 tiny mineral baths, there is no way to cool off during the day. There’s no bar access to these tiny pools. There are only 3 lawn chairs on the premises. There are really no other activities or entertainment available to guests on the property. There are a variety of fun excursions available to purchase, but you’re basically stuck in your room afterwards. There’s really nothing to do.
Pros: everyone is friendly, like, really nice. There are plenty of excursions available to purchase (the river rafting was a lot of fun and worth the expense)
Cons: there is literally nothing to do on the property so you have to spend more money to purchase excursions. Also, WiFi doesn’t work.
ROOMS
The bungalows are really cute but the rooms are a bit dated. The room we received was not the family room that we booked. We did not receive the welcome drink advertised on the booking. Our first morning we woke up and could not use the bathroom as there was no running water for a couple of hours. There has been a strange fishy odor coming from the middle kitchenette section. Not sure what is causing it but it’s unpleasantly there.
Pros: great view of the volcano
Cons: Not enough blankets, water pressure ; fishy odor; not the room shown on my booking; no welcome drinks as promised and woke up to an invoice for a water bottle and soda from the fridge that we did not take! Also, we purchased an all inclusive package so the soda and water should’ve been covered!!
FOOD & BEVERAGE
There is only one restaurant with specific times for meals.
- Miguel (8/5): Very good -
- Gabriel (9/5): Superb -
- Katie (6/5): Overall, it was nice. Needs some improvements to make it a worth while all inclusive. - The location was amazing. What a view. One restaurant on the property. Pool bar closes at 6 pm with no food options.
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodie (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (9/5): Excellent all-inclusive spot in La Fortuna! - The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant was very good. The staff was wonderful!!
- Anonymous (10/5): Our trip was unforgettable!!!! - Not like a hotel, like we were staying in an exclusive little town Wi-Fi was terrible, get the international plan from your carrier
- Kelly (10/5): Magical place. A place to unwind, explore, with beautiful views. By far one of my favorite places I have being! - Exceptional staff. I was so well looked after. Thank you for an amazing stay! I will be back Nothing
