• Jane (7/5): Good if you need a car park - Location okay if you are happy to walk to old Town and castle - takes about 20mins. Close to markets and bakery. It was clean and car parking easy in square outside. No hot water in basin Tiny cramped shower

The town is adorable, and the apartment is just hidden enough that it's not in the bustling center, but at the same time it's close to a store, amazing bakeries, cute cafés, and restaurants. We started each morning with fresh bread from one of the bakeries :) The bed is very comfortable! And this was the only place we stayed at during our Albania trip where the shower is more a separate unit in the bathroom than 'just a drain somewhere on the floor' type, which made this bathroom the most European-friendly in our eyes. Having to collect our trash in a random plastic bag seemed to be a common thing during our entire Albania trip—no difference here either, no trash can to be seen anywhere (except for a small one in the bathroom). Is this a cultural thing in Albania? We didn't have the chance to figure out. Other than that, the only improvement I can think of that would make this apartment amazing is a smart tv. The apartment only has a tv with channels now, which is generally no problem—after all, you don't travel to a different country to watch tv—but if you're unlucky, you get one or more entire days of constant thunderstormy rain (as happened on our trip), when you can do nothing else but watch tv in the cute little studio called Meg's apartment. If this happens, a Netflix account would be a nice addition to the day! Overall, Meg's apartment is an amazing place to stay in Gjirokaster, and well worth your money!

• Said (10/5): Great Room for family trip. If you go to Gjirokastra this must be your stay - The room was clean and with all services that a guest home must have. Felt like home :) The house was near the main street and in a good position. Its was all good. Nothing to complain there.
