Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Warm, cozy, comfortable, beautiful cottage stay in Leura - We liked the clean, modern and beautiful setting of the Bryn-Y-Mor cottage, we also loved its loaction! The host was very communicative and prompt to reply. The kitchen was very well equipped for simple meal in. The fireplace was not working but we had plenty of other heater options (bathroom floor heater was fantastic and the air conditioner was sufficient for heating the whole cottage, the bedroom heater was working well) so it was not a problem during the stay.
- Carolyn (9/5): Private and quaint cottage, short drive to all attractions. - Sun room is delightful
- Mowle (10/5): Beautiful place! - Absolutely loved the place, was just the peace and quiet we needed. Bed was comfy, facilities were great, everything was clean. Would defo stay here again! Instructions were clear and smooth. Nothing too much, a sofa would have been nice for us as a couple but that’s just me being picky! Was great
- Simone (9/5): Beautiful place for a short escape - Beautiful cottage. Great styling and decorating. Very stylish for a few nights away. Very nicely done. Loved the underfloor heating for cool mornings. Bathroom is lovely. We had warm weather which rendered the sunroom so what unusable through the middle of the day. Not a drama though.
Ideally tissues would be provided, body lotion is also a usual inclusion on most short break accommodation venues.
It was really lovely. Thank you.
- Cindylee (9/5): Quiet, relaxing and the fires were lovely. - Location was incredible, close to everything.
Property was cosy. Had a bit of key issues opening door.
Fridge was not working all the time.
Would have loved a small couch instead of singular chairs.
- Paula (9/5): We had a great and realxed time and we would recommend it to anybody. - We liked to have breakfast in the conservatory. The lounge room was very warm and cosy with the fireplace. The bedroom was warm and nice. The bathroom was very clean and almost new. All in all a beautiful dream cottage. We liked everything - just that it isn’t ours - Suggestion: The conservatory could have some ceiling blinds, because in the afternoon it gets too glary.

- Liliana (5/5): - The cottage was very cute, lovely & cosy on a coolish night. The bathroom & bedroom were modern, and kitchen facilities were just ok. The lounge & patio was also ok, aesthetically..We were luck enough to be allowed an earlier check-in which we were very grateful for on a hot day! That was a big bonus for us as we were buggered. While the property is located in beautiful town of Leura, our stay was unfortunately marred by several significant issues that did not align with the 'luxury' description.
The Property: Despite being advertised as luxury with air conditioning, the unit was non-functional during our stay. This was particularly problematic in the sunroom, which reached sauna-like temperatures and made the rest of the home stifling and uncomfortable.
The Location: Prospective guests should note it is a 20-minute strenuous walk to the train station. While a walk can be nice, we found the listing slightly misleading regarding ease of access, especially without clear local transport information.
The Service: We were very disappointed by the lack of communication from the rental agent. When we reached out specifically for information on the closest bus lines, our request was ignored. No information regarding local buses or transport was provided in the home.
Overall, the lack of basic climate control and poor communication made this a stressful experience rather than the luxury retreat we booked.
Would we stay here again? No.
Would we recommend the home to anyone? Based on all of the above, probably not.
- Anne (10/5): -
- Domster (9/5): Brilliant, met our expectations. - I twas clean and well styled Lack of bench space in the kitchen
- Mary (7/5): Very pleasant. - Nicely decorated. Thoughtful touches. No natural ventilation. Bed is to soft. Dining chairs are saggy. They are very bad for someone who wants to do some computer work during a very rainy weekend. No freezer section to the fridge - therefore no ice.
- Nicole (9/5): Great location, and a very cosy stay - Lovely, clean and cosy cottage. Loved the fireplace. Bath tub plug doesn’t work well
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Liezl (7/5): It was just okay - It had all the facilities listed on Booking.com. The pre-check-in admin was unnecessarily onerous. The pre-checks, validations, and high reserve fee will make me choose a different property when I return to Leura. They sent documentation a few days before check-in (and the link to the OneDrive folder did not work). The cleanliness was okay. The stove was not clean.
The windows look lovely. None of them opens.
Before checking out, I received another reminder to leave the property according to the documentation they sent. I assumed that emptying the two bins on the last day would be part of the service, but according to their rules, I had to do it myself. It is a small thing to do, but since it is such a small activity, they should do it - like all other accommodation Everything was okay, but I will try other similarly rated accommodation next time.
- Norah (9/5): Relaxing - Quiet. Comfortable and immaculate. Small fridge with no freezer compartment. Therefore no ice for my gin and tonic!!!
- Vicki (10/5): -
- Eva (9/5): Wonderful stay - the cottage is beautiful and was very clean and comfortable. Lovely hosts. -
- Kathrin (10/5): Uneingeschränkt 👍👍👍 - Traumhaft gelegen, wunderschön eingerichtet!
Bequem, sauber, romantisch, großzügig!!! Alles perfekt
- Estelle (10/5): Stunning cottage with beautiful furnishings and stunning garden views. - Beautifully furnished unit with a gorgeous garden to look out over. Very comfortable and glamorous. The gorgeous sun room is stunning, but can get rather hot.
- Duane (10/5): - EVERYTHING. Spare towels are needed. Also a freezer would be good.
- Reiner (9/5): Excellent and well maintained property in a very good and also quiet location. We really enjoyed it. - N/A Have the instructions for use of the property in a folder at the property.
Gaining access to this info online proved to be somewhat difficult.
- Christine (9/5): - It was the perfect peaceful country retreat, but a short drive to the pretty town of Leura.
It was beautifully furnished, and well equipped with everything we needed.
- James (9/5): Very enjoyable and a great location. - Property was very clean and cosy for two people.
Location was great for us as we wanted to try different walking routes. Conservatory was excellent for an afternoon drink. The two chairs in the living room could be a little more comfortable.
- Mary (10/5): It was a fabulous four days. - Very cosy and comfortable. It needed a sofa in the lounge area.
- Melinda (10/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Jaime (9/5): -
- Corina (9/5): - The cottage was so beautifully decorated. The sunroom was especially lovely and the gas fire in the lounge made the cottage feel very cosy. The bathroom has heated towel rails and flooring which was appreciated for our winter stay. We loved it.
- Christine (9/5): -
- Tracy (7/5): Cottage was lovely, location great, emails from host did not make us feel overly welcome. - Location very convenirny Correspondence with host made us feel like we were not trusted to take care of the property.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Beautifully warm inside during a very cold period. The sunroom is magnificent to come home to.
- Rob (9/5): Had a lovely couple of days, kept us warm on a few cold and wet days. Beautiful setting - Loved the cottage, bed was great. Nice and clean and couple or essentials ie salt pepper and oil. Have often stayed at places with none and had to purchase. The heating was amazing, spent a lot of time in the “winter garden” as it was bitter outside we still managed to stay warm. It is in a great location, and not knowing the area a great map provided us with direction. A lovely setting, imaculate garden, just a shame we couldn’t wander outside Great stay Advertised as Romantic, but we didn’t pick up on that as no ice, or facilities to make any. No champagne glasses, there were a couple of larger glasses that had to suffice. And no cosy couch, nowhere for 2 people to be close. Inundated with text, possibly from the booking agent.
- Melanie (8/5): Relaxing - A nice quiet and relaxing place with close access to walks and shops. The hold in account seemed a bit excessive at $500 and was not clear when booked. The external booking requirements were a bit rushed.
The text message sent a link which at first made me wonder if it was a scam and I had to cross check using the app but it all worked out okay.
- Caroline (9/5): Perfect, private, great off street parking -
- Madelin (9/5): Great place to stay in Leura - It was cozy, clean, and close to the town. All the amenities were included.
- Margaret (10/5): We know where we want to stay next time we are in the blue Mountains - BRYN-Y-COTTAGE! - We took our own food. However, the owner had thought of everything. We were able to cook as the kitchen was well equipped. Personally, I would like to keep BRYN-Y-MOR COTTAGE a secret. However, very happy to share our wonderful experience. It is beautiful inside and outside. It’s like a lovely English cottage. The location was great with incredible homes and amazing gardens all around. It was an easy for us to walk to the town, the Everglades Gardens and the Cascades and we are in our 70’s. Absolutely nothing to dislike about BRYN-Y-MOR COTTAGE.
- Allan (9/5): Comfortable cottage in superb location - Large, comfy bed. A soak in the bath after long day hiking was a bonus.
We loved the location. Cottage tucked away at back of property, with outlook onto beautiful gardens, in fabulous and peaceful village of Leura. Could have some softer pillows.
- Harris (6/5): Money making enterprise - all interaction is at arms length. - Pleasant cottage - though not exceptionally so. Requested A$500 / security deposit after booking.
Delusions of grandeur implied in the description of the property failed to be met in reality.
- Vesna (10/5): Weekend in the Mountains - Gorgeous cottage with beautiful gardens. We sat outside having a glass a wine and it was so peaceful. A short drive into town. We enjoyed dinners at both Mr Collins and Polar Bear. We also hiked the Grand Clifftop walk. Challenging however spectacular! Wonderful weekend away. The correspondence was easy and we were informed on check in and check out procedures which were simple. Everything was lovely
- Maria (7/5): Lovely garden setting - The accommodation was in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens. The decor was tasteful, and the place was clean. A great place to stay if you plan on eating out for every meal. Good range of coffee pods were provided. The towels were large and lovely. is a short drive into Leura, but would take about 25 minutes to walk there. Lovely area to walk in with lookouts on the way to Sublime Point. We enjoyed our stay there. The kitchen has little bench space, so the draining rack has to sit over one of the sinks. The lounge room has two single armchairs spaced 1.5m apart on either side of the kitchen doorway. The only table and chairs for meals are out on the enclosed verandah which we found too hot to sit in during the day. It would be worse in summer. If you drink anything other than English Breakfast tea, bring your own. There were no welcome biscuits, so again, bring your own.
The managing agent sent several repetitive and ill-timed messages between our booking and departure. One message mentioned that we might get early check-in which was pointless as I had said we wouldn't arrive until after 7pm. At 1pm I got a message saying we could check-in at 1pm to which I again replied we wouldn't be there until after 7pm. On our way there, I got a message at 6pm asking if everything at the accommodation was as it should be, so again I replied that we hadn't arrived yet! Several messages outlined the "rules" and the "check out process" to be OBEYED. We were due to check out on Sunday morning, but received a message at 7:30am that morning that started off as "Tomorrow is your check-out day and the time for check-out is 10:00am unless you have received a confirmation email from Blackbird Property Management confirming an alternative time" so they couldn't even get the day right! As the managing agent, they should know if we had been offered a later check-out. When making the booking you are told "there will be a "hold" on your credit card in case of extra cleaning and/or damage, so make sure there are sufficient funds on the card". Nowhere in any of the numerous emails were we told how much the hold amount would be. I only knew when I looked at the bank account that it was $500.
- Laurie (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raf (10/5): Nicely decorated, quiet and in a good location. Superbly clean. -
- Jules (6/5): A bit disappointing. - The gas fireplace was cosy, and a great kitchen and bathroom. There is no comfy lounge to relax on only 2 uncomfortable straight backed lounge chairs and no air con in the bedroom.
- Irwin (10/5): Beautiful stay. Keen to go back - The location was great! Super close to Leura!
The place was very nice, homely and comfortable.
- Cherie (10/5): Beautiful location, lovely facility, we really enjoyed our stay. - Fireplace was amazing, and the accommodation was impeccable. Beautiful design and really close to attractions in the Blue Mountains.
- Caroline (6/5): Pleasant -
- Wiwin (10/5): Little Gateaway - The fireplace The dining room was too cold. Mini fireplace didn't make any differrence at all to warm up the space. Might be good idea to install another heater.
- Deb (10/5): We had a truly beautiful stay. - Everything A comfy lounge for us would have been excellent.
- Jeanette (10/5): Stunning cottage, would definitely stay here again. - Beautifully presented cottage. Had everything you could want. Stunning sunroom. Warm cozy gas fire in the lounge room. Comfortable bed. Handy kitchen. Lovely bathroom.
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (8/5): Great cottage & location - frustrating admin - Great location, lovely property - historic charm with modern renovation - lovely bathroom, pretty garden view. Verification process, additional deposit, extensive rules - didn’t make for a warm welcome.
- Christena (10/5): Exceptional - The most beautiful little cottage set amongst incredible manicured gardens. The attion to detail and soft furnishings finished the cottage off nicely and made for a wonderful quite place to spend time. It was just so beautiful nothing was overlooked. It was so fresh clean and tidy. We will definitely be back.
- Amanda (10/5): Secluded cottage with private parking, excellent amenities and all you could need for a stay of a night or more!! - Very well setup, private and in a peaceful setting. I can’t think of anything against this property for a couple who want to get away.
- Pete (8/5): Very good -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect for a quiet break. Private and secluded. The only sour note was being asked to put the three bins out in the road before departure down a 30 meter gravel drive. Being seniors we refused to do this and to their credit the management company took care of it.
- Beverley (9/5): Superb - Lovely quirky cottage with great outdoor space. Nice little lounge area and a comfy bed. Owners, although very efficient, we're not very friendly. Received multiple emails regarding check in/ out requirements. Lots of info about the bin collection day. Although in the garden of a property I assume is the owner, no contact from them what so ever. Still a nice place though.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good -
- Luke (10/5): Beautiful cottage, easy to get to and close to everything in town - Beautiful little cottage, very pretty, very well presented, really nice updated bathroom. Really enjoyed the stay
- Hutchins (10/5): Felt like we were in a world of our own. So beautiful - It was so beautiful and peaceful. The gardens were astounding. Excellent communication by the host. A perfect way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary Nil
- Pippin (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - It was quiet and well located.
- Daneev (9/5): Bryn-y-Mor is a gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful location. Ideal for a little getaway in Leura - The location is ideal. Only 3 minutes drive to the town centre.
Cottage is gorgeous. Everything you need in the kitchen to self-cater is there.
The bathroom and underfloor heating was beautiful.
The gas fireplace was heaven. Perfect for the cold evening.
We highly recommend this property and will stay again in the future. The seats in the lounge area are a little stiff and uncomfortable, not for lounging.
There is no freezer. Unfortunately, I needed a freezer for my ice pack to take for walks etc and the drive home for my special dietary needs. My error in assuming there was one in the fridge.
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): Fantastic cottage! We will be back! - Fantastic location, well appointed and great fixtures and furnishings.
Very cosy and warm!
- Gomes (3/5): Poor - The whole process of booking accomodation was way too complex and very unprofessional. The property was ok although the bed was very uncomfortable, there was no freezer, two single seater couches on opposite ends of the living room which is quiet ironic considering it’s supposed to be a romantic couples retreat. The cottage is a fair amount of money and we were ok shock to find out we needed to take rubbish and bins out to main road you’d think this would be included in the cleaning of the facilites as that what we pay for . We found it bizarre that we had to pay an enormous bond to start off and we were mortified when my partner was informed he was charged for the replacement of bed sheets and towels due to stains they apparently couldn’t remove, which clearly shows they never washed them properly. They went and replaced them all with totally overpriced items and took it all off our bond . If they had trouble removing stains which was clearly a scam then before going on shooing spree with our money they should have take in them in to the dry cleaners and charged us the bill which would have been a hell lot cheaper and proven we were at fault . I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone , as it ended up costing us nearly doubled the high amount we had already paid and we would have been better off staying in a 5 stars resort.
- Dunia (10/5): Had an amazing time the cottage is very relaxing. Definitely coming back and highly recommen it. - It was clean, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and close to the main city streets. I loved everything about it.
- Rosie_89 (7/5): Lovely warm stay - The location was great and very close to multiple things in the blue moutains. Perfect little cottage for a couple. The sunroom was fabulous. The morning and afternoon sun hitting the room was just lovely. The electric fireplace was absolutely lovely to look at and also kept the cottage warm. The property is very well maintained, peaceful, and quiet. The carpet in the bedroom was dusty, I think perhaps it was missed. I am not sure if it was the power point or lamp and electric banket closest to the window, but it wasn't working. The lamp wouldn't turn on and the blanket was unusable.
The kitchen window wouldn't open, which made it difficult for us to cook due to the smell.
Overall, we still had a lovely stay.
- Hugh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Will be coming back regularly to enjoy the quaint cottage experience , great local food & shopping too! - Bryn -Y-Mor cottage is in a Quiet location, surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens. This is a truly gorgeous & beautifully decorated cottage with fabulous facilities, especially the fireplace & heated floors in bathroom ,which were greatly appreciated during our Autumn week visit. The cosy sun filled conservatory was an idyllic spot for lazy breakfasts and long lunches. The cottage is a short driving distance to Leura township with great shops to explore and eating experiences. The managing team of the property were very helpful and provided us with many excellent dining options and leisure experience for the Blue Mountains area during our stay!
- Thompson (8/5): Solo stay - Beautiful, quiet accommodation A sofa would've been nice instead of 2 chairs, a spa & freezer would be good
- Michael (9/5): Had a lovely couple of days with lots of walking, viewing and resting. - Beautiful setup in lovely corner of Leura. Facilities were first class. Would have liked a freezer for our cold packs and tissues in the bathroom.
- Helen (8/5): our stay was amazing and memorable - Great style, good quality appliances, exce heating and lovely setting. No table inside and very small fridge but that was in harmony with the small kitchen!
- Crouch (9/5): Superb - Every thing we needed was there. Very comfortable
- Chew (7/5): The security deposit was not a credit hold like I was told it would be. I was billed twice for it and had to follow up f - Private and comfortable
Mostly clean but don’t expect all drawers to be clean The patio with transparent roof was like a sauna on sunny days. The surrounding doors were stuck and cannot be opened for ventilation.
Experienced multiple problems with security deposit and property ended up more expensive than the price stated on Booking.com
- John (10/5): Excellent location, beautiful cottage, -
- Jolanta (9/5): Superb -
- Sean (8/5): A beautiful location, very quiet. The warm bathroom floor was very nice on the cold morning. - the location was ideal, and quiet. 1. the registration process was very confusing. I received multiple requests to register and verify even after completing this and received confirmation. 2. being asked to take the rubbish out and the bins to the road. I can do this at home, this was meant to be a break from home.
- Cath (8/5): we only stayed one night but it was so very quiet and peaceful beautiful location - so lovely and quiet kitchen had very little to no work bench area
- Heather (9/5): high end property for a few days away close to town and Scenic world only negative thing is the 13 emails about the prop - beautiful decor quiet location
all amenities nil
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beverly (9/5): we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return at another time. - the location was perfect and the surrounding area was very quiet it rained the entire time we were at the property and there was no cover between the property and where we parked the car.
- Warren (9/5): Superb - Upmarket feel, well appointed The fact that there was no freezer to have ice in my drinks (first world problem) and a proper ironing board would have been good as there was really nowhere to set up the small ironing board except on the cook top
