Guest Reviews
- Mohamed (10/5): Great - Location
- nems (10/5): Ein besonderer Ort!
- Armelle R. (10/5): - Beautiful hotel, full of history, perfect location, good breakfast and great host/staff. No towels included.
- Simon (10/5): -
Incroyable! Rien. Tout était super!
- Charlotte (10/5): Beautifully restored traditional house in perfect location. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Quseir Hotel, a beautifully restored traditional house overlooking the beach. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. We had a shared bathroom but we were happy with that. The location , just opposite the main beach and a short walk from the historic centre and castle, was excellent. The owner and friendly staff were on hand to give information and advice. We would definitely book again.

- Kira (8/5): Excellent overall - Incredible historic hotel! Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Amazing views of the sea. It was a great stay. Light sleepers should probably look elsewhere or book a room without a sea view. The road traffic can be loud at night because it is old, original architecture.
- Carla (9/5): -
- Edek_z_Gdanska (10/5): - Lokalizacja, bardzo uczynny personel. Wszystko było OK
- Muhammad (9/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): - Alles echt gut. Personal besonders toll
- Cosmo muccino (10/5): Assolutamente consigliato! - Tutto perfetto!
- Francesca (10/5): Amazing stay! - What a wonderful jam! It's such a peaceful and cozy stay with an amazing sea view! Absolutely recommend it! The loud noise during the nights - better use earplugs!
- Anzelika (10/5): - Nice, old fashioned hotel, amazing view, nice guy on the reception!💛
- MERLO (10/5): - Amazing stay, clean, peaceful, helpful and kind staff and perfect location
- Sven (7/5): -
- Radwan (8/5): - Step
- Silvia (9/5): Worth it - Was a beautiful egyptian stile, with historical pieces and documentation. Owner and staff were amazing! They helped us with our transfer issue totally. They were really kind Too much dust.
- Wayne (9/5): Absolutely what we expected, great. Many thanks - Absolutely as advertised. Beautiful building, great breakfast. It’s hard to fault the place. Just don’t think of going swimming or on the beach (littered +++) but that’s not the property’s issue, it’s an Egypt thing.
- aristea (10/5): - Very nice people,real hospitality
An old stone building traveling you in the past
- Yingjialang (10/5): - Nice decoration. Quite like the vibe over there.
It's like a hidden treasure. 120 years old history. The sea view is amazing Nothing really for me, nothing can be complained about. Well down boys
- Sharaby (9/5): -
- Lena (8/5): - Very charming and nice view A bit uncomfortable and a lot of noise from the traffic
- Robert (10/5): Superb old hotel, with comfort, character and great value. - The hotel has charm, history, and great comfort. Mustafa, the manager, is grandson of the man who built the building as a private home in 1910. The hotel has character with stone walls, high ceilings, and photos of its history. The shared bathrooms are impeccable, with hot water and sparkling cleanliness. Breakfast was superb, with omelets, breads, veggies, beans. An excellent fish restaurant is right down the street. The only thing between the hotel and the beach is a road. The town is thoroughly untouristic, and gives a real taste of Egypt. Mustafa and his staff are superb folk, helpful, informative. Mustafe speaks excellent English. We would return!!
- nada (10/5): Super well located, very kind staff and very charming place to stay in charming and authentic town -
- Duncan (9/5): - Hotel is very nice, basic clean rooms, i had a sea facing room with great view.
Shared bathrooms clean with plenty of hot water.
Basic but nice breakfast served by very friendly and helpfull staff , who speak English.
I found a one night stay was enough to see old town and fort as arrived early in the morning.
Beach itself could be alot cleaner but looks nice for pictuers
Local fish resturant 100 meters away serves fresh fish meals in evening which was very good.
- Lea (9/5): Real Egypt! - We had a great stay at the Hotel el quseir:-). It's an old historical building: absolutely amazing! In a great location if you want to immerse yourself in “authentic Egypt”. In the middle of the old town with a view of the sea. The staff of the family business are very helpful and had helped us organize various transports. They also gave us great tips for restaurants and snorkeling spots. The breakfast was prepared with love and was very tasty (no buffet). We would definitely book this hotel again!!!!! We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a longer trip to Egypt. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. The hotel has simple facilities (shared bathroom on the floor, not in the room). In the evening it can get a bit noisy outside (street and people outside on the beach), but we didn't mind as we are not at all sensitive to noise.
You can't go swimming and snorkeling directly on the local beaches, you have to go a bit outside (the hotel staff can help with the organization!). But if you really want to immerse yourself in everyday Egyptian life, this is the place for you!!!
- Hossam (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - ligging
- Mattia (9/5): - Those who choose the al-Quseir Hotel do so because they are looking for something more than just a place to sleep. The hotel is housed in a late Ottoman building that was renovated about twenty years ago. The renovation preserved the original spaces, materials, and aesthetic of the building, which stands directly in front of the seafront promenade. Unlike the soulless, ugly resorts in the area, this hotel has real character to spare. Furthermore, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is excellent.
That said, there are some issues. The street is noisy, and the windows are not sufficient to ensure quiet rooms. There is one shared bathroom per floor, which is perfectly acceptable if one embraces the fact of staying in a place that has preserved the original layout of the house; however, the bathroom could be better maintained and more fully functional.
Al-Quseir is well worth a visit for many reasons. Unfortunately, the town is still in need of significant restoration efforts and better-developed tourist routes, but between the castle, the remains of the Italian phosphate factory, a few historic houses, and the seafront, it is a place that is worth a thousand bland and monotonous resorts.
- Geraldine (10/5): Excellent hotel - Very easygoing town, calm and tranquil historic guesthouse overlooking the beach and in the centre of the old town.
- Soad (9/5): Very comfortable, friendly and nice location. - This is the 5th time i stay in this hotel and everytime with different friends, we all just love it. This time is even better with some style changing and little cafe infront of the building. It just amazing.
- Soha (8/5): - everything is beautiful as usual but since the hotel is on the main street on the town, the cars where running so long in the night which made it hard to sleep. But everything else was amazing!
- Almira (3/5): - Die Lage, sonnst nichts!
- martin (10/5): - Hotel má své kouzlo ocení DOBRODRUZI a Cestovatele ocení když vám majitel zajistí levnější transfer a domluva platila na 100%🤝 Hned kousek luxusní fisch restaurace 😋
- Liila (10/5): - Im in love with this very old and special Hotel
Most amazing place to stay in El Quseir
The atmosphere is kind of magic, is like floating through time and space
Thank you Mustafa 🙏
- Morgese Luca (6/5): - Scenic building, nice location, kind and helpful staff, good breakfast. Bedsheets were very old, and had quite a number of hairs on them. Room sink was leaking. Shells for cigarettes were full of used cigarettes. Overall felt like, for the cost of the hotel, it could have been better maintained.
Niente
- Nicholas (10/5): It’s a home from home experience to stay at the El Quesir ; you are welcomed and looked after as one of the family. - A delightful original building dating back to 1910. The owners have maintained the originality which provides a wonderful nostalgic, comfortable atmosphere. The location is a delight also, I can’t say there was anything I disliked about the property.
- Dr. Mohamed Osman (8/5): Great Heritage Hotel - A piece of history to stay at and listen to the story of a great town, located in front of the sea, vintage furniture, 3amer are helpful and cooperates well, sure value for money and exceeds my expectations for the price, the view is great from my room, the room are wide and air-conditioned but no bathroom inside, the noise from the street nice in evening but when to sleep it's a problem, the breakfast was lovely specially the the eggs, if you are there you need to stay 2 days to discover the place and area bathroom outside the room, noise around
- Agnese (7/5): Beautiful view, house. Great communication. Noisy. - Communication was great! Beautiful house, wooden windows, history pictures on the wall, nice. Nice beach, boys went snorkelling- too big of waives were there but more beautiful corals and shells than in Hurghada. Noisy because the street is right beside. Dirty surrounding on street because..well Egypt I guess. Nothing to do with a room and host.
- Kenny (8/5): It’s really worth it! Cute abs cheap. But would have to take the things like the bathroom and the noise in account - The breakfast was really good and the personal war extremely nice. It was a nice old building, very “antique”. Espcially the bathroom was not quite clean, it’s very decayed and the toilet wouldn’t flush very well.
Also the rooms we got were at the side of the principal street (to the entrance of the hotel) and was extremely noisy because of the cars, so we couldn’t see well.
- Claudia Isabelle (10/5): - Das Personal und die Atmosphäre im Hotel.
- Sophie (10/5): - Very authentic place. It feels very good inside.
Ancient atmosphere with vintage decoration.
You can walk easily down the seaside and there are little camps you can go to snorkel around.
The owner is very helpful to help you organize your trips. Thanks to him, I got to watch hundred of dolphins and a dugong !
- Sara (10/5): My number one stay in Qusier💪🥰🙏 - The style of rooms, the cleanness, the vie, the location, but most of all the hospitality. The room made me feel like I am in the mountains in Switzerland and then I looked out of the window and there was the sea and the palm trees🥰 Mustafa was always ready to help, advise and meet my special requirements. Amer made me feel like I am visiting old friends, he showed me around and was making my stay so much more special. It was a wonderful time, and it will for sure be my go to location every time I visit Qusier. Thank you🙏🥰🙏
- Clermont (10/5): -
- Carole (8/5): -
- Toninio Groland (10/5): -
- Doaa (10/5): -
- Mamdouh (10/5): Comforting and authentic - It’s the best hotel in town and the staff are very friendly and helpful I might as well come again just to stay at this place and relax also it got a breath taking view during the sunrise. The vibes are ineffable
- Soha (10/5): Exceptional! - I loved the interior of the hotel so much, it is a home of a family and they turned it into a boutique hotel. They've put amazing details of interior that shows a lot of love and care towards the place and the visitors. They have names for each room and they've perserved the orginial building and its style and the wooden stairs and doors. I felt like I've changed the time and the location and the country. A real travel in time and place. The amount of details can keep you excited for more than a couple of days and it makes you excited to wake up in the morning. To be honest I've never seen something like this before in Egypt. Even the breakfast, they serve a different Egyptian breakfast every day which is super nice and considerate of them. They help you with any questions you have and make sure that you get where you want and come back safe :) They make Quseer accessible, knowing that its not a touristic city by default on the contrary.. receiving this hospitality makes me want to go back again for a longer period. Specially that Quseer has amazing streets and water activities and you can even cycle for long distances :) which makes it a real hidden Gem. On and they leave you a handmade Eygptian soap bar made of olive oil in your room :))
- Khaled (10/5): excellent stay - the space is very nice and cosy, the staff and the owner
are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located right in front of the sea and in the center of the city. Room space is convenient and bathroom is very clean
- Nicholas (10/5): Perfect. I have recommended to family and friends ; will be staying again this Summer with family. - A delightful , charming family hotel , it is undoubtedly the best hotel - in my opinion - on the Red Sea Coast in this area of Egypt ( Saffaga , El Quesir and Marsa Alam ).
- Elena (10/5): A real gem in the Red Sea out from the craze of the busiest parts of Egypt. If you want to sea an authentic corner of Eg - The property is right in front of the Red Sea. It’s a gem. It’s a family home turned into a beautiful boutique hotel. The interior design is entirely cured by the owner of the place, Moustafa. He’s of great hospitality and helps so much. 150% available to give advice for local best tips (from beaches to restaurants, including the talented women handmade shop he’s supporting by upskilling them to create the their own handcraft businesses). Hard to tell. Just so peaceful and quiet. It was what we were looking for!
- Tomás (10/5): The hotel and Mostafa and the team just makes you feel at home with family - Everything. I was just perfect All just perfect
- S (8/5): Correct -
- Gianluca (10/5): Exceptional - Sea front, a fascinating old building, super helpful staff (e.g. SIM card was there when I arrived!) and the largest breakfast I had in my trip around Egypt. The small road that divides the hotel from the beach can be noisy; however quiet in the night
- Daria (9/5): Superb -
- Riccardo (10/5): Amazing stay in a local well kept house - Incredibly beautiful hotel. It is a typical well kept local house. We loved our stay here and Mustafa and his team were fantastic hosts. Must stay place in El Quseir
- Riccardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marammohamed (10/5): Authentic and Nostalgic .. LOVE IT - It was an exceptional stay!! I loved every corner of the hotel. It was very authentic and nostalgic to be around for the three days of my stay. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see the REAL Quseir. At the time of my visit, the weather was very humid, but the room had AC. The location is perfect. It has shared bathrooms, but they're always super clean. Breakfast was so homey and delicious. The staff was amazing and helpful. Shoutout to Amer and Mohamed. You made our trip :)
- Anthony (10/5): Séjour relaxant et très agréable - Here’s the translation:
We had a wonderful stay at El Quseir Hotel! A huge thank you to Mustafa for his warm welcome and kindness. He was an exceptional host, always ready to share valuable tips to explore the city. The place is beautiful, with a unique charm, and there’s a peaceful atmosphere that invites relaxation. Thank you for this great experience, we’ll be happy to come back!
- Huw (9/5): Lovely couple of days at the end of our hectic holiday to chill and enjoy the Red Sea. - Lovely old building with sea views and excellent staff Nothing. It’s an old, house, nicely converted. Don’t expect ultra modern.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - The hotel is a beautiful historic building with a relaxed and laid-back vibe. The owner and staff were very helpful.
Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The hotel also offers a workspace on each floor with a beautiful view of the beach. The rooftop is accessible, perfect for enjoying sunrises or moonrises!
Traveling to El Qoseir is a great opportunity to experience and enjoy the authentic Egyptian Red Sea coast, rather than getting caught up in one of the large tourist complexes in Hurghada. Close to both the north and south ends of town, there are clean camps where you can enjoy scuba diving or snorkeling. I hope that in the near future, local authorities and private businesses in the town will support more initiatives to maintain clean beaches and seas. Snorkeling in the Red Sea has been one of the best experiences of my life; however, it's unfortunate that marine life has to share its natural habitat with too much plastic and waste.
- Sophie (9/5): Superb - The staff was amazing! We were on a day trip and did not arrive until the evening. They texted whether we were alright. We all thought that was very sweet. They drove us to restaurants and helped with whatever we wanted.
They were always ready to help.
It is a small old hotel. Located next to the beach. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms with AC were spacious. We totally recommend if you are looking for something else than an all inclusive. Nothing really!
- Lucien (9/5): Beautifull old hotel in the relaxing town of El Quseir - Beautifull hotel located in the perfect place in El Quseir. Very kind staff that will help you with anything. Breakfast is amazing!
- Tattoo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tattoo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmedmousa65 (3/5): Poor -
- Marwan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tattoo (10/5): Relaxing - Safe space
- Khaled (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramey (10/5): Exceptional - One of the coolest places I've stayed in Egypt. Awesome historical building right on the beach. Amazing reef right out the front. Mostafa the owner is a legend, very attentive, knowledgeable and so helpful. He helped us arrange all sorts of activities after we left Quseir. I will definitely stay here again whenever I'm in the area.
- Isabel (10/5): Beautiful hotel with wonderful atmosphere and delicious breakfast - The hotel is beautiful and unique. Its an old villa with an extraordinaire atmosphere. I love this house. The wooden ceilings are impressive and the rooms are so cosy and comfortable.
Everything is very clean and the aircondition is working well.
The breakfast is delicious and everything is fresh.
The service is friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed my stay and can highly recommand this place.
Thank you for being here and be happy to come again.
- Monica (10/5): Very Cool & Special Place in a Unique Seaside Town! - Super Special Hotel! Comfortable, Clean and Yes Very Unque! Mostafa ( owner/ hotel manager) is a Cool Guy! Sincerely happy to help and it comes from his good soul! He went beyond and Totally helped me out with my trip planning / and Replanning ! : )) Forever Grateful ! I was lucky to meet his brother as well who took me around the town - again, Good soul. Great People ! Honest, Kind and Awesome ! I Highly Recommend El Quesir Hotel ! :))) Until Next time :))
- Susan (9/5): Beautiful old house in fascinating town - Beautiful old house. We were left alone to explore and feel at home.
Fascinating ancient town with lots of information at the castle- really worth going No ensuite toilet
- Albert (10/5): Exceptional - The Staff are amazingly friendly, the place has a taste of history
- Paul (10/5): Wonderful authentic el quseir hospitality for a great price - 35 year old Mostafa and his staff are very helpful, hospital and cool people who will help you feel local and at home right away. Look forward to great food, grocery and taxi tips snd organization. A ride to the best fish restaurant or a koshari home delivery? No problem…
Overall the place was clean and the common bathrooms were cleaned daily and thoroughly. Since there aren’t many rooms you usually just share your bathroom with one other party. Mind that hygiene and furniture comfort are not the same as in europe but mostafa is working on improving everything step by step. But if you are looking for spotless resort comfort this isnt the best place. For authentic egyptian hospitality and experience u cant get anything better!
The 20€ per night are an absolutely incredible deal especially since a tasty local breakfast is included. The egyptians are up after sunset and sometimes until late at night which means your spot right at the seaside promenade can get loud. If you are a very light sleeper this isnt ideal - if again you are looking for being a part of the daily el quseir schedule with busy evenings and quiet lazy late mornings then this is the place 😉
- Tristan (10/5): Will be back soon - Great stay at El Quseir hotel. Mustafa renovated his family house with taste and turned it into a simple gemm. Perfect location in the Old city of El Quseir. The staff can arrange everything for you to explore the city and the coast. The pressure in the shower on the top floor was low. The staff said they were gonna fix it.
- C (8/5): A beautiful old hotel where is full of character - I love this old beautiful hotel which is full of character. The staffs were helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious and the the dining room was super lovely. Location is excellent, close to the castle, shops and restaurants. The shower in the shared bathroom didn't work very well. My room was facing the sea and the main street, so it could get quite noisy, I bought my earplugs so it wasn't really a problem to me to fall asleep.
- Vany (3/5): A scam - The building is historical and is interesting to see. Towels and blankets were clean The place is very broken and located just in front of a terribly busy coastal road. We had a room with only the old wooden windows that cannot protect from the never-ending noise and vibrations of the vehicles. Everything is very dirty around, including the seaside area opposite the building, flies were everywhere. It was not really possible to enjoy the place. Even the breakfast has been quite disappointing, very basic on dirty table with only a young boy to prepare and nobody around. Really not pleasant and definitely not worth the price.
- Dr. (10/5): Beautiful room with sea view in a historical building - The host & team helped us with everything we needed. The room with see view in a historical building is very beautiful. The traffic on the road (but of course the hotel can not change the design of the city : )
- Michal (9/5): Superb - Amazing, outstanding, great, unique location, but not for snobs and someone who demands modern equipment.
- Marie (10/5): We totally recommend it - you will get a pure El Quseir experience! - Mustafa is a great host. He welcomed us with a big smile and an open heart in the house which already belonged to his grandfather. It’s an old and beautiful building with a lots of charme and the best view you can imagine directly on the sea shore. You will get a tasty traditional breakfast. Mustafa is helpful in every way, he even organised a driver a couple of times. Thanks again!
