Vishal (1/5): Property is a scam! - It's a fraud property, and booking.com hasnt done its due diligence. The pictures and the location shown on the listing are only to trap guests. While the property was supposed to collect payment on arrival, they kept pestering me to make 100% advance payment, saying that free cancelation is anyway valid. Since I have always had genuine experiences with booking.com, I went ahead and made the payment. When we landed in Vietnam, we went to the location as shown on booking.com, only to find that the hotel is nowhere to be found. 2 hours were wasted calling the property manager, who decided to ignore the calls. The number shown on booking.com was also an incorrect number. We had no way to contact the property. Ultimately, we were resigned to the fact that we had been scammed, and we had to book another hotel in Old Quarters. I have raised a complaint with booking.com for a refund and also to take strict action against the property. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. It was shocking that it had to happen with booking.com. Makes it all the more difficult to trust local homestays. It's also very shocking that booking.com wouldn't verify the location and the number of the property before allowing to be listed. I have written such a long review, hoping that the property isn't able to scam anyone else.
