• Maal (7/5): I would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to friends. - The Guest House was very cozy and comfortable. The location was great, close to city center, sightseeing locations, metro to the airport. The building and room were cute and retro. The host was not physically present but very helpful on distance. Some communication took a little longer than it otherwise would have if the host was nearby. The walls were very thin and I happened to have very talkative neighbours staying the room across the hall.

No lift, it is hard to upstairs to reach the room at third floor. TV doesnt work. Remote controls out of order or no battery. I never recommend.

• Yuliia (10/5): Exceptional - Super place. Central location. Transport, metro nearby. Self check-in, fast, even ahead of time. The room is just super, a two-room suite with all amenities, kitchen-dishes, kettle, refrigerator. TV. Sofa, table. Balcony! Two air conditioners, warm in winter. There is hot water. The staff is super - they responded very quickly. I was satisfied!

• Linda (9/5): A good choice for a couple of nights - It was a very efficient well run and provisioned hostel. It caters for large numbers of guests and does a good job generally. Comfy beds and good showers The staff were a little short and not very friendly. The kitchen had very few utensils-it would have been hard to cook a proper meal. Even cups seemed to be hard to find

• Christos (6/5): Cheap place near the center. - Great location, no need for bus. The room was big and had an extra bed as well. Clean towels and bed sheets and the toilet was clean. Room had mold in a few spots. The room we stayed was underground and it was tricky to get our luggage down due to the very narrow staircase. The owner would never pick up our calls, only responded via SMS after some time. The apartment has no heating. There is an air conditioner but it doesn't work, it probably needs service or something. It would work for a few minutes then stop for half an hour.

Good points- location, easy check-in, owner reacts, if there is a problem. Despite the good points- you CANNOT offer such rooms on booking, this is a total NO GO!

• Teodora (5/5): Wouldn’t visit it again.. - Relatively good price compared to other options in the area. Suitable only if you’re a tourist looking for a quick one-night stay in central Sofia. Extremely worn-down place. I didn’t have high expectations, but in the photos, it looked relatively welcoming and clean. In reality, the walls were very dirty, the sheets looked old and had stains. The place appears dirty and neglected for years, and it needs at least some basic renovation. For me, this is pure negligence from the hosts. The kettle was not cleaned, the towels had tears, and the bathroom on the third floor was literally just a toilet and you couldn’t lock the door. If you want a normal shower, you need to go to the second floor, where the door doesn’t lock. For this price, you don’t expect luxury, but cleanliness and basic amenities like being able to lock a shared bathroom are a must. The photos are misleading. I’m not a tourist, but I noticed the place is mostly visited by foreigners. It’s sad for them to experience such conditions in the center of Sofia. The room smelled unpleasant. I frequently travel to Sofia for work, but I would never stay here again. The bare minimum standards for hygiene and cleanliness are missing. The pictures I’m uploading give a more accurate representation of the place.

• Mgol1302 (9/5): Small and clean, perfectly located close to the metro station - The location close to the metro station on the direct line to the airport is perfect for those needing an overnight stay before/after the flight. The room is very small but very clean and consists of everything one needs for a short stay. I was rather impressed that every little detail in this really budget hotel was thought out and everything was in perfect working order. The latter is not very common in Bulgaria even in more fancy and expensive places. The shared bathroom is small and the shower is not isolated from the rest. This unfortunate feature is very common in Bulgaria, but with shared facilities it is particularly annoying.

• Martin (4/5): Peter PAIN hostel - Close to the city centre We could leave our bags for free after check out We stayed two times and had different rooms (ground floor and first floor) Loud at night, sleeping is possible only with closed windows, but one room on the first floor has a very loud air con. Bad sound isolation, you can hear everything, for example people going through corridors... Bathroom on first floor had a smell The kitchen was not well equipped (for example only one spoon) A lantern on ground floor was shining bright at night at there are no good curtains

• Paul (5/5): Poor at first but improved following contact with host. - Really good location and a cheap price considering this. Really nice and hot shower . The basement room was very poor. It smelt of mould and we had a serious leak one evening with water coming though the ceiling. When I contacted the host they replied the next day and changed our room to room 2. This was so much better! Really nice, fresh smelling room.

I came to the place and called the host... she answered and guided me in. First impression from outside tentative but when I came inside... wow... so clean, so prepared, everything what you expect from such low cost was absolutely perfect. I'm cruising balkan countries and this is the top so far. Well kept. Thank you and I simply have to give the highest grades.

• Catherine (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was very responsive and the location is fantastic. It did not look as fresh as on the pictures though we had the lower level room so much less light. We booked a room for 3 and arrived to ony two bed set up. There was a flip flop bed but no duvet was provided for that one. There were only the bedsheets.

• Jo-anne (4/5): Irresponsible and Disappointing - It is near in the metro and most of the attractions. They gave us the wrong room without prior notice. I booked for the STUDIO type, but they gave us a TWIN room with 2 single beds. It was very uncomfortable for me and my husband. Very noisy when other people enters the apartment (as the room was near the entrance door). And the light at the entrance is entering through the transparent door. And the bathroom was outside (with a broken toilet sit cover). I felt deprived of the room that I paid. It is their obligation to inform the client if there is a problem with the room or the booking. The owner did not show up. The only way to contact them was through WhatsApp. So I told them about the room change. They’re not happy that I was complaining. Actually, they wanted us to go and find another lodging. But then they changed minds and offered us a 20% refund. I agreed and gave my bank account details. They didn’t reply anymore. I even asked where to leave the keys during check-out. Got no reply at all. I think they blocked me. And until now, there’s still no refund. Disappointing!

• Mark (7/5): acceptable for the location - The location is very good, in front there is a tram stop and you can walk to the Cathedral for about 10 minutes, price paid was also reasonable. There is a small fridge in the room. Self check in. The bathrooms were not very comfortable, prone to flooding as the shower is not separated from the WC. On my floor there was also no bath floor mat so I had to use my towel. Overall the place looks a bit run out and needs renovation.
• Geraldine (8/5): Budget accommodation centre of Sofia - This was my 2nd stay at Peter Pan House; it provides very reasonable budget accommodation in a pretty central location. Great having a kettle in the room for the morning coffee Nothing really. Was unable to comment on staff, since I never met any. Only thing which might have made my stay more comfortable would have been a bigger sheet on the mattress; 2 small ones didn't really work, and I found I was touching the mattress itself during the night, which isn't great

• Sergey (9/5): A nice small hotel in a quiet but central location close to transport and food - The hotel is small and located on a corner of two big streets, but a bit in the yard, so it was rather quiet. The location is nice and convenient, the self-check-in is very useful for a late arrival, there is a bakery and a coffee place within 1 minute walk. The room was bigger than I could've expected, the shower was very hot and very strong (WOW!) and there was a fridge in the room. It was obviously not Hilton, but it was a very comfortable place, and given the price I paid it was, I assume, the best in town. There is no curtain in the shower, which might be inconvenient if you're not alone (and want to have dry clothes in the bathroom). Also the WiFi was not at all strong (my computer could hardly load anything, though the phone was connecting all right). There was a smell of smoking in the corridor (but not in the room, so not that bad).
• David (9/5): Short but good :) - The place is really good located in the very center of the city. The apartment was comfortable. I forgot my wallet there and they reacted really fast and recovered it until for me was possible to take it back. Everything was fine
• Richard (10/5): Good stay for money.. - Very clean and spacious, has 2 AC, but to only One was Remote.. In Kitchen you háve kettle and All equipment you need.. Bathroom was clean, no problém with hot watter.. Apartment háve great position by tram and bus stops to center, but is in inner block, so is quite in Night.. I dont meet owner, but he allows mé early check in.. Little Cold in Night, AC in bedroom hasnt Remote.

The place needs some refreshing, you can see mould and moisture spots here and there, and you can sense it in the air as well.

• Mark (1/5): Bad - Location Key box had no key as sent me wrong code, couldn't get hold of anybody no matter what mobile number I rang, finally got in room and when I finally got the air con heating working as it was -5 it didn't heat the rooms because it threw little heat out even set on 30°as for the one in the bedroom i couldn't even turn on as only 1 remote that only worked the kitchen one, had to try and sleep in all my clothes and coat and didn't get any sleep, will never book there again

• Athar (7/5): Good - The room had plenty of space to put personal items, had great WiFi when busy, camera system was on warm in January, bed was ok. The bed was a little noisy because maybe wood panel below as base, the door was a little bit bent but, still good enough to lock from inside, just needs a new hindge and handle but, couldn't push out of door if tried, shower room needs curtains.

• Sonia (8/5): Location was excellent - Location was excellent and it was very quiet in November. Price was very good and they allowed us a bit of an early check in. The 2 couches in the basement flat were really springy and uncomfortable but the beds were super comfy.

We overall had a good experience. I would only suggest looking more into the cleaningless as there is space for improvement there or at least provide a broom or something in the room so we could also fix the misses 🥹

• Michal (5/5): Ok for 1 night - The location The room and stairs were dump, smelled of moist. The room was well equiped but of poor maintanance. The small balcony was blocked almost completely by a tree/bush. The room had no private toilet -- that fact was not mentioned in Booking, at.least not clearly. The door of the 2nd floor shared bathroom didn't lock.

• Josh (5/5): Just ok - Ok if you are a young single traveler staying for a short while. The location is a walking distance from everything interesting in sofia. There are supplies in the house for guests to use. The room is big and there was enough kitchenware. The owner was very pleasant and replied to WhatsApp messages almost immediately. There are no staff members at the house. There were cockroaches in the kitchen. The path to the building is narrow and broken. There is no cleaning staff during the weekend. We had an unpleasant experience when someone was banging like crazy on the front door at two in the morning and there was no one there to handle it.

• Valentina (8/5): Good stay despite the change of towels - The staff was very nice, the room was big and it had a private bathroom, despite being outside the room. It has everything you need inside so it was an overall very good stay. The room was very cold. Moreover, we had the little sign that we could put on the door to get the room cleaned and a sign saying that if we wanted our towels to be changed we had to put them on the floor. We did both things but our room was not changed and neither our towels. Despite that, it was an overall very nice stay.
• Jūratė (9/5): Superb - Great location, comfy bed, clean and cozy room, affordable price, really cool balcony on the third floor. I would definitely stay again! There was no staff to let me in the hostel and I hadn’t received a pin code to enter the hostel prior to my arrival. It was a bit stressful, but a nice neighbor called the owners and this issue was resolved :)
• Eva (5/5): Passable - Location As we prebooked we stayed here again (which I wouldn’t do now) and got to try out a different room. Here the couch was so dirty you couldn’t sit on it and the rest of the room also needed upkeep (see pic of the picture on the wall for illustration). In this case the shared bathroom had a light so weak that basically you had to shower and go to the toilet in the dark. Suboptimal to say the least.. Note that we also had issues on how to complete the self check in as others did. Too little detail provided, we only managed to get in because the people before us had been there for an hour trying…
• Eva (5/5): Passable - The location was great but this was the only positive thing we found. Pictures are outdated. We picked the place for the nice courtyard thinking we could enjoy our time and meet other travelers but no— this was a dump see pictures. Contact with personal was terrible, we (and the rest of the place) were left without toilet paper for 24hrs and they didn’t even manage a basic apology. They claim the rooms are cleaned everyday but this seems untrue, this is fine by us but not the service they claim. The place was basic to start with but it needs some upkeep.

• Yaron (10/5): Best affordable guest house in Sofia - Perfect location! Nice quiet section of Sofia, not too far from the city center. The hosts are amazing, communication via Booking messages was quick and helpful. The room and the bathroom are very clean. The only thing is that the room includes separate beds which can be a minus for a couple.
