Guest Reviews
- Sqrey (8/5): 😉 - Everything was lovely it's just a pity that I was staying 1 night If your going you should try to stay 2 or 3 nights believe me it's well worth it. Also the owner is a gentleman and has the patience of a Saint. It was a little bit expensive also I couldn't close the blinds in the bedroom.
- Bincy (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (5/5): Passable -
- Colin (9/5): Friendly host, great communication, central location, no frills, would book again - Location amazing. Host/ communication/ keys etc was easy . Friendly host.
- Dior (1/5): Bad - Nothing Did not respond to messages or calls, could not check in
- James (1/5): Bad -
- Warren (8/5): not. a holiday accommodation - Room ideal Good location suited my needs of sleeping and leaving. Shared shower not my ideal set up.
- Sarah (3/5): Poor - The guitar was a nice touch Loud noises throughout the night within the building and couldnt get to sleep til 5am. Somewhat aggressive atmosphere hearing arguments and doors being slammed throughout the night
- Murphy (9/5): Superb -
- Grant (8/5): Good location, good value - need better communication - Great location and good value. It is a room in a private apartment across from Connolly station Once you get in touch the owner is friendly and helpful but for some reason they don’t tell you much - like where exactly the property is and how to get into it - until you reach out to them.
- Christina (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (4/5): Random. - The couple here are living in an apartment and letting out a room as a bedroom. They seem really nice people and were very accommodating when we asked for a late check-in. The bed itself was comfortable, there was wi-fi, a heater and a kettle in the room. The couple have only just started on this so I can make some allowances. We arrived at gone midnight so there wasn't much time for them to explain everything but... My main issue was the false advertising. I didn't print off the original facilities promised but I know that a private bathroom was offered + a fridge, dining area and a balcony but none of them were there. They seemed to have scaled this down since but, obviously, that's no benefit to us.
Not only were we sharing the bathroom but it wasn't in great condition. Needs a lot of attention. The shower did work but only when a switch in the passage was turned on. It looked like a light switch so we'd never have guessed. When we originally went to use it the couple weren't up so we gave up and just poured water from the sink over ourselves. There is no bath, which was also promised.
The bedroom itself had a sloping ceiling which cut its available space down. There is a large skylight but with no blind on it which means the light pours in in the morning and there's no privacy from an overlooking office block. There was a bottom sheet on the bed and two pillows but the only covering was a large throw. Towels were there but not changed so we had the same ones for the three nights. Two power points but you had to move the bed to get to them. There was no lock on the door. We didn't see a fire alarm. There is a kettle but while there was coffee there was no tea, milk or sugar. But, bizarrely, there was a guitar.
The address is confusing too. As I write it's still given as Amiens St, Amiens St, Dublin. The access to the apartment block is far from clear, even locals had no idea it existed.
The couple were very nice but seemed oblivious to having paying guests and talked loudly till the early hours. The doors and locks echoed as they moved around too.
We'd come to Dublin to watch our son play sport, accommodation wasn't the be-all and end-all for us but it certainly didn't feel like value for money, that was largely due to the facilities promised that didn't exist.
