- Joseph (10/5): Step back in time to the opulence of the period8 - A step back in time to a beautiful period house almost untouched but still with air-conditioning in bedroom.

- Ashley (10/5): Beautiful - The original 1920s decoration through our is fantastic, you feel like you are in another era.
Outside the window or the balcony you look out over trees full of birds in the evening.
Staff were superb and couldn't do anything more for us.
- eduardodp1975 (8/5): - ubicación decoración
- Celia (10/5): Would return with pleasure - Incredible hotel that was once a private home
You feel like in a museum
Very well located
The staff was really helpful
Highly recommended
Beautiful walk to the lighthouse Nothing

- mo1998 (9/5): - Very Central right in the middle of the tourist location Check in after hours is a little sketchy but you need to know to ring the bell and the breakfast is almost non-existent but the coffee is really good
- giuseppe (10/5): Piacevole e tranquillo, ho trascorso due notti separate e ci tornerei.
- Jessica (9/5): Great location and beautiful hotel - The location, the antiques and the balcony view. Good attention The facilities need to be taken care of more. And when it rains a lot the rooms had small drops coming inside
- Douglas (10/5): -
- Sigrun (9/5): Very good - Beutiful old house with a lot of charm
Sehr entspannend.
- Craig (8/5): - Good Breakfast, good location, plenty of hot water, good air-conditioning

- Michael (8/5): For the price, it’s one of the best values in town. - For the price, this is a great hotel. The location is perfect. It’s right next door to Puerto Santa Ana. The stairs to the lighthouse are a few houses down. The riverwalk is at the end of the street. The atmosphere of the hotel is nice. It’s not a new, sanitized hotel. It’s an old mansion. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was satisfactory. Not the best of any hotel. Not a buffet. More of a home cooked meal: a bowl of fruit, yogurt, two eggs, two pieces of toast, juice and coffee. It was good and included in the price. The area around the hotel is one of the most secure areas in the city. The hotel itself is very secure. In order to enter or exit the hotel at any time, you must push the ring button on the call box inside the gate and be buzzed in. The hot water in the shower worked perfectly. It’s not absolutely quiet at all times. Early morning and evening, the birds outside get going. Street noise can be heard. The walls are somewhat thin so the tv next door can be heard. However, everything quiets down later in the evening so sleep wasn’t a problem. My room had quite a few bugs flying around and on the bed. This may have been my fault as I opened the balcony window for a picture. I noticed them the first night but not the second. DO NOT open the window. The property does have a one lane cobblestone road in front but the Uber drivers don’t take it (perhaps if you specifically request it?). They will drop you off a few hundred feet away. It’s a short walk up a couple flights of stairs to the hotel and then up stairs again to get into the hotel. There are no elevators.
- Gabriel (9/5): - Very close to all attractions in town The mattress could be better
- Tobias (9/5): - Alles Nichts
- Doug (10/5): - Incredible property with amazing charm, very comfortable and safe, near all main attractions. Very kind and caring staff. All good
- Siemens (10/5): The location was very convienent, easy walk to restauarants and other activities. - breakfast was very delicious, and sufficient. the shower did not have warm water. It stayed tepid even when running a while.
- Anthony (7/5): -
- Henriksen (6/5): It is like stepping back into the 1920s in every way. However cleanliness could have been better and the breakfast the s - It’s historicical The many, many stairs. No elevator
- Pasi (10/5): Visiting in Guayaquil - Excellent location. Walking distance to everywhere. The airport is 10 minutes away.
Spacious room.
Good breakfast.
Fast WiFi.
Friendly staff.
- Marc (8/5): -
Imposible descansar.
- Andreas (7/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): - Quirky olde worlde furnishings. Like living in an antique store. Great area Everything was a bit dusty and worn. Needs a spruce up
- Pasi (10/5): Visiting Guayaquil - Excellent location. Walking distance to Cerro Santa Ana and Malecon.
Many restaurants around.
Spacious room.
Fast WiFi.
Good breakfast.
Friendly staff.
- sophie (10/5): -
- Frank Dietze (9/5): -
- G Boyle (8/5): - It's quirky decor. It's unique and it's what makes it what it is The stairs. There are 2 flights of stairs from street level to reception, never mind from reception to the rooms. However, the staff will bring up your luggage.
Be careful using Uber as they leave you at a street with a dead end so will have to continue walking to the hotel. The sign is not big so you need to keep an eye out for it.
- Miguel (10/5): - Su arquitectura y diseño
- G Boyle (8/5): Quirky hotel, old style decor but staff friendly - It's decor and the staff were very friendly. Even stayed in late to check me in It's hard found and Google maps direct taxis to a point found then involves walking but no clear signs. Think it would help travelers to find the hotel if there was directing signs in that area to it.
- Nicolas (6/5): -
- Lene (6/5): -
- Arseni (9/5): Una mansión modernista inglesa con mucho encanto -
- Laura (9/5): Excellent small hotel in a very vibrant old neighborhood. - Location excellent for walking the city. Fun local restaurants and bars nearby- non touristy.
Breakfast was simple but good.
Staff was excellent.
Would visit again definitely. Not their fault, but the nightclub nearby does play loud music until late night( on Saturday night).
- Goriacheva (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast is beautifully served. Every detail of the interier is a masterpiece.
- Skazok (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Perfect location near Las Peñas and a wonderfully quirky historic building. The staff were wonderful and very helpful during our short stay.
- Thorne (9/5): Superb - The mansion is beautiful and the bedrooms are historic with high ceilings and beautiful decorations. The common area living room is also beautiful, and feels very homely. The location is unbeatable on top of the Las Peñas hill, 5 minutes from dozens of restaurants and 7 minutes from the malecon and movie theater. Great rooftop with beautiful views.
The breakfast is decent (fruits, eggs, cereals, yogurt) - I would change the very processed white bread though to match with the rest.
The staff was friendly and kindly kept our luggage between two trips.
If you take Uber, make sure to revise the itinerary to arrive by the south, otherwise, it will leave you 200-300 m away. It didn't bother us but should be noted for less able persons: the reception is on top of two very high flights of stairs (the outside one very steep).
What bothered us was the very loud party that apparently takes place every Friday and Saturday until past midnight, so on these days, make sure to ask for a quiet back room.
The birds on top of the trees on the plaza are beautiful but smelly!
- Melantha (10/5): Great location. Good value for money - Great location.. Good Value for money
- Santiago (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Only cold water in the shower
- Christine (10/5): I will defenetly stay here again. - It was just a beautiful Hotel. Restored to the old Charme.
There were black outs in Ecuador during my stay but the hotel had no problems and had internet and electricity 24 hours.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Maja (8/5): Beautiful stay in Guayaquil - Wonderful decoration and decorated ceilings. Very large bed and great, safe location in Guayaquil.
- Viren (8/5): Very good - Not alot of vegetarian options. Room was comfy and clean, not much natural light in my room.
- Wout (7/5): Unique hotel at a great location. - Great location and a wonderful view over the Guayas river. A very spacious room and comfortable bed, with 24-hour reception service. The hotel sends you a bit back in time. The bathroom can benefit from a little upgrade regarding cleanliness and consistency of water pressure and temperature of the shower.
- David (8/5): Nice rooms. - It is in a safe area with several restaurants in walkable distance. A lot of stairs, not recommended if you have mobility concerns.
- La (8/5): Very good - Beautiful property. Very friendly staff. We had booked a suite with living room area but only got a standard room.
- Marisol-63 (10/5): Exceptional - I like everything.
- Luis (9/5): Vintage and comfortable hotel. - Conveniently located in the heart of the Malecón. Breakfast provided could be a bit more of a variety.
- Rambo (9/5): Fantástico - Great location and beautiful hotel. Two flights of steps to check in at
- Jamie (7/5): Hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly, however very loud outside. - Beautiful hotel in an excellent area. Easy to walk to attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Fairly loud music across the street at night. Needed to use ear plugs.
- Muzsik (10/5): amazing spot - full of character, friendly and kind employees, museum like. such a cool spot, used to be the home of the founder of the brewing company of 99% of the beers you’ll see in ecuador now (pilsener, club, sambria, etc). great location, in the old colonial town
- Carolina (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent attention, guidance, and warm. Attention, view, location, space
- S.b. (8/5): Very good -
- Trigg (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff, comfortable and clean hotel, excellent breakfast, wonderful and very safe location. We walked everywhere! Beautiful neighborhood with wonderful views! Definitely highly recommended!
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Andres (8/5): Very good -
- Duarte (8/5): Very friendly staff and good value for money - Staff was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was nice as well and a taxi was booked by the hotel to take us back to the airport. Constant light in the room from an interior window and some noise downstairs from dinner area. This was not a problem for us but it’s worth mentioning.
- Kira (8/5): Interesting building in a great location! Safe and welcoming. - Great location - las Preñas and Malecón were safe and interesting for tourists. Easy to go out for meals and coffee. Amazing staff who gave personalised and very helpful service- including organising tours. Room was comfortable, if unusual. Air conditioning was good too - necessary in the heat. Courtyard and terrace with a great view! Stairs! Including some that felt precarious. The amount of decoration was overwhelming at first but everything was clean and the ensuite was modern if oddly designed.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was great with plenty of good tasting food and delicious juice with coffee or tea. The room had a great view of the river and it had a very comfortable bed. The waiting room and the room were breakfast was served was eloquently decorated.
- Gordon (6/5): The staff were amazing, but as much as I understand it is an old hotel it needs an upgrade - The staff were wonderful It needs an upgrade on facilities and decor
- Maria (10/5): Love the location, staff very friendly and attentive to our needs - Everything was great
- Mauricio (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (9/5): Great Hotel in Las Penas - Great location in the safe Las Penas neighbourhood. The hotel is amazing inside with chandeliers and Victorian era decor. The ceilings are all hand painted with designs and artwork. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Liz (10/5): Fabulous! - Perfect location! Incredible decor in a century building. Most amazing and helpful staff. Second floor terrace looks out over treetops filled with herons, egrets and iguanas! Nothing
(If stairs are an issue, this may not be the place for you)
