• Laetitia (10/5): Hostel absolument génial - Un des meilleurs hostel que j'ai pu faire sur la planète (oui carrément) Hyper moderne, clairement fait pour les digitals nomad, propre, calme (et pourtant il est au bout de Bui Vien Street). Bon emplacement Le personnel au top, ils parlent tous très bien anglais et sont très ouverts à la conversation surtout concernant leur pays. Le repas à l'hostel est super bon à chaque fois et végé. Et les douches sont séparées de la chambre. Toilette et douche séparées également. On sait tous qu'on en rêve 😂 Lits confortables

• Bridget (10/5): Fabulous - Stayed at the Common Room Project for 3 days extended an additional night because I loved the Hostel so much. The hostel was my favorite part of Ho Chi Minh. Although its located on the most popular street in Ho Chi Minh its a very quiet hostel. The Hostel is beautifully designed. The staff was phenomenal! Hung was exceptional awesome you tell how much he loves his work. The beds were comfy! Loved the dinners! Highly recommend this hostel.

• Débora (9/5): Amazing hostel - I absolutely loved this hostel—it was one of the best I stayed at during my trip to Vietnam. The highlight is definitely the comfort of the bed and the room. Everything was very clean, including the bathrooms. The place is beautiful and welcoming, and the common area on the ground floor is thoughtfully designed, making it great for socializing and/or working. I joined the family dinner on my last night, and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, and it was a great way to meet new people. I would definitely stay at Common Room again, without a doubt. And the staff is really nice and helpfull. the bathrooms are a bit small, but that wasn’t a big issue for me. The street is quite noisy, but luckily the hostel isn’t right in the middle of the party area that takes place there every night.

The hostel has a great atmosphere, and the entire property is kept very clean. My room was comfortable, and having reliable, cool AC was a huge plus. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. A special shout-out to **Tu at the front desk**, who was exceptionally friendly and personable. He went out of their way to provide great recommendations for local events and places to visit, which really enhanced my trip. I would highly recommend staying here!" • Danielle (10/5): A grown up hostel which feels like home. - Really high quality finish, seems brand new Comfiest beds we stayed in so far, lovely sheets The staff are so helpful and kind, they remembered our names, were super friendly and also sent a moped with my husbands sunglasses he forgot to meet us near the airport so we didn’t miss our flight! Group dinners work super well to meet others The vibe is super chill though, definitely not a party hostel which suited us. We wanted to stay longer but the were fully booked! The toilets are a little small for these leggy westerners to sit properly Common space could have been a bit comfier - proper sofas instead of cushions on the floor

• David (8/5): Great staff, service and clean, but expensive and noise. - Staff are attentive and helpful. The facilities and cleanliness are superb. I stayed following a recommendation from a friend. It is closer to walking street than I expected but this is my fault for not checking. However, you cannot hear any of the noise from the street. My biggest issue was the noise from inside. You can hear all the conversations/noise in reception from the private rooms (I guess the dorms too) and you can also hear everything the other guests are up to in the next door room at 2am. I booked based on a recommendation, but only chose to stay when I found a significant discount. The full price is incredibly expensive and I would not have stayed if I had to pay this. Whilst the service and cleanliness are great, I would not stay here again based on the noise and price. You can get similar quality and quieter stays for much cheaper in the city.

• Klaudia (9/5): Exceptional staff going out of their way to make your stay wonderful - I loved this hostel - it's very modern, clean and the staff is exceptional. They prepared my bed early, which was a godsend after a very early morning flight. They also communicated with my via WhatsApp, invited me to community dinner and checked up on me in case I needed recommendations. I don't think you can ask for better, friendlier, more helpful, welcoming staff than the one at The Common Room. I've left with wonderful friendships and excellent memories. It's located on Ho Chi Minh's version of KhaoSan Road and as much as it can get hectic walking through it, it was great for a cheeky night out. The beds were quite hard! It wasn't a deal breaker and it is also my own personal preference. Besides the community dinners, I wish there was maybe a drinks night instead. Something more casual to meet people and have a little chat.

• Jildou (10/5): Geweldig! - Ik heb echt genoten van mijn verblijf in the Common Room, waar ik verbleef in 14-persoonskamer. De dame van de receptie was super behulpzaam en voelde als een soort vriendin tijdens mijn verblijf. Het dagelijkse gezamenlijke vegan diner was iedere dag weer heerlijk en erg gezellig met de andere reizigers. De faciliteiten zoals het toilet en de douche waren schoon.

• Step F. (8/5): Beautiful space, slightly cool disconnected 20-year-old guests - The Common Room is beautifully run. Very clean and great staff and the facilities were all in perfect order. I expected a little more interaction but I found the dormitories were pretty lonely. And even downstairs in the foyer people were all a bit disconnected. Maybe it was just me, or my age(!) but I yearned for some connection and found it difficult. The shared dinners looked like a great idea. Perhaps some more organised activities would have helped. Of course this isn't up to the accommodation, it's up to us as guests.

• Fabio (10/5): Oasis in the chaos of Ho Chi Minh - Really detailed Hostel, you can see somebody was caring a lot for the design, great beds, nice guest kitchen, very social and still places to chill or have a nap. They have rules in the hostel which is good but they communicate it to harsh or unnecessary, also for the payment.

Everything was clean and new, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Daisy and Win. Despite being close to the party area, the noise level was pretty low. Great value for what you pay.

Ein schönes Gemeinschaftskonzept, das genutzt werden kann, aber nicht muss. Die Lage ist sehr zentral und touristisch, ist aber ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt, die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

• Henry (9/5): Great location and great place to connect with other travelers. - There are so many good things about this hostel, but if I had to narrow it down to just one main thing, it would be the nightly "family dinners," which make it really easy to get to know other people who are staying there without pressure or feeling awkward. I went each of the 3 nights I stayed, and each time, it led to continuing to hang out with some of the people in the group by walking around, going to a bar, etc. And since the hostel is in such a great location, it's smooth to get around to other parts of the city and hang out either by yourself or with others.

But If I visit Ho Chi Minh City again, I might stay here for a weekend getaway when I want to party.

The staff put so much effort into making everyone feel at home they were incredibly helpful, always available, and full of great recommendations about the city. There’s a daily dinner that creates a really warm and social atmosphere, especially for solo travelers or younger people who want to meet others. The place is always clean, well-organized, and really well run. I felt comfortable from the first day, and I genuinely enjoyed my time here. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

• Brandon (10/5): - Friendly vibe and staff, modern design, ample facilities, great chef making dinner, quality beds and curtain and locker, good location, showers good. Overall this is one of the best hostels I've stayed at. One shower didn't really have hot water so be ready to try another one which does have hot water. Also a suggestion to use higher quality better smelling soap to match the overall high quality brand of your place. Also if your dad is right by the window of the party Street you will hear music all night, but with earplugs I fell asleep every night no problem.

• Lan (9/5): One of the best hostels with modern rooms - I stayed in a private room. I love the common area. Although it's small but well designed and organized. The bed is very comfy and i had three nights of good sleep. Staff are super nice and helpful. The dinner they hosted and organized was very nice. It is perfect for solo traveller. This is not related to the accommodation itself. I didn't like the popular touristic street. It is convenient but not my type of area. The music played at the common area sometimes can be a bit more chill vibe than cheezy dance music.

Tolle Lage - und obwohl die Unterkunft in der Nähe der Muy Vien Straße liegt, ist es sehr ruhig. Es gibt abends gemeinsame Events (z.B. Essen, Rooftop Bar) und man fühlt sich hier auch über 30 sehr wohl, da es einige Gäste im gleichen Alter gibt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und mega hilfsbereit. Würde auf jeden Fall hier nochmal übernachten 👍🏼
