• Brian (8/5): A central location hotel - Location of the hotel which is at the center of old quarter. It is very convenient to access all attraction areas by bus. The hotel staffs are very helpful. When we checked in and found out the room we made reservation is very tiny room and without window. We talked to the front desk staff, the staff promised to upgrade our room at nearby facility for free. On the checked out date, the staff allowed us to leave the hotel one hour past the regular check out time. If we stayed in our original room, I think the price we pay for that kind of room in Vietnam is a little bit overprice(72 US dollar per night). Might be all hotels in old quarter area are very expensive. The hotel listed in booking.com as 4 stars hotel. It is not a 4 stars hotel what we expected.

• Stephen (1/5): Shocking hotel. - Nothing to like about this hotel. We both got bitten and it wasn't mosquitos, we think it was fleas, the place was dirty and very dated, the pics look great but this really isn't a nice hotel, it should be a one star at best. The staff are more bothered with their phones than helping in anyway. Had a family emergency and offered to pay the hotel a couple of nights compensation for leaving early, but they refused to help us even thou they could rent the place out again. This place was so bad we left and found a better one until our flights home. My advice would be to look else where.

• Bríd (4/5): Disappointing stay - Location was good. The bedroom was very very small and the only small window in room looked on to hallway. This was a superior room. There was no iron and when requested one at reception we were told they would check and I returned downstairs 20 minutes later to be told it was unavailable. No toilet roll in bathroom on ground floor when we arrived. Disappointing stay.

• Trish (8/5): It’s okay, but the rooms are old and small. - Close to everything and is in the old quarter. The rooms are old and not that big.
• Amit (4/5): Disappointing - The location is good. The staff was friendly. The room size is misrepresented on booking.com. Most of the hotels in the old quarter have smaller room size, only reason i booked this hotel was the room size which is not accurate on the website. I have previously worked as a hotel sales manager, and I can be sure the size of the room is way smaller than what they claim. They were nice to give me an upgrade by default to the Deluxe room, but once we checked it and opened our bags, there was not space to walk, not even to go to the toilet. The angle at which the pictures are taken makes it look like the room size is bigger. I complained that the size of the room mentioned on booking.com is not correct, and they panicked and promised to see if they could upgrade me the next day. They showed me family rooms which were bigger in size, but kept a condition that they will only upgrade it if i give them 10/10 stars else i will have to pay for the upgrade. Well I told them i would to get an upgrade, but that's not fair. Another thing to keep in mind is the rooms are outdated, paint is chipping off the walls, the toilets are too small without a shower curtain, so the entire toilet gets wet when you shower.

The room was smaller than my experience with other hotels in the same area and there was some noisy guests that made the stay difficult but that's not hotel's fault. Perhaps better soundproofing could have helped.

• Nishi (8/5): Great stay with helpful staff. However, laundry service shrunk our clothes. - It was a really nice hotel and very clean with a nice bathroom. The staff were very helpful and polite and always there to help. The room was a little small, but seems like most places in the Old Quarter are. The biggest issue we had was that we used their paid laundry service for a substantial amount of our clothes and they all shrank greatly. Many items of clothing had shrunk to the point of discomfort and one rather expensive pair of linen trousers is no longer wearable.

• Cameron (7/5): Amazing staff. Good price, good location. - The Staff, Jerry and Hannah especially, were brilliant. Welcoming and helpful. We were given a free upgrade on two of our rooms. ‘Superior’ room is a bit of a misnomer. Whilst functional and clean, our two were small. I shudder to think what they would be superior to? The electrics in one of our upgraded rooms was wholly inadequate. Functionally, only one of my sockets would physically fit in any of the sockets (they all fitted in my previous and subsequent Vietnam hotels!). In terms of numbers there were only 3 single sockets, one of which was above the to with no shelves to place charging items. They did provide a double extension when asked. Safety-wise, one of the sockets was clearly an extension from elsewhere in the building and loosely connected to the wall. This is a quirky hotel. We had four rooms, unfortunately not together. In another hotel that wouldn't be an issue; but this appears to be two buildings merged into one; where rooms 01 and 02 are in one building and rooms 03-05 are in the other; with connecting corridors only on the 1st and 4th floors. So depending which room we were going to, we sometimes had to go up to go down or down to go up.

• Armstrong (10/5): Amazing!! - Our stay at Amica hotel and travel has been amazing. The location is perfect with everything close by etc. but what really made our stay is the incredible staff in this hotel. I can’t express enough how kind and attentive they were. All the staff were so kind Win etc., and Hannah has just been fantastic. Upon arrival to the hotel my partner had some health issues and she couldn’t have done enough for us, she was so helpful in every way. I would 100% reccomend this hotel in Hanoi and will definitely stay again if we are ever back.

The room was much smaller than we thought, we barely had place to put our backpacks down. If we had 2 suitcases, it would have been a real struggle. They might have bigger rooms but we booked the superior room. So book a class larger than that if you plan to stay for more than 3 nights or have a lot of luggage.

• Đặng (10/5): Too Perfect - The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. The staff were very accommodating and gave us complimentary late check out 30 minute as we had a late flight.
• Thouchalanh (10/5): Welcoming and friendly with really nice rooms for the price 👍🏻 - Everything was great staff was friendly and welcoming. Hannah handled all concerns in a timely manner as well as the rest of the staff were very welcoming and functioned well together. Forgot the rest of the staff names but they were all great and would definitely recommend this hotel. And it is very close to beer street.
• Karolina (10/5): Cute Hotel in Hanoi‘s old quarter - Very nice location and with the best staff. Hannah organised the best trip to ninh binh for us and was honestly the sweetest. Our room was super nice too! A bit loud at night but that’s okay regarding the central location.
• Emma (9/5): Wonderful hotel in good location - Amazing hotel, I can definitely recommend this if staying in Hanoi! First of all, the staff were super helpful and friendly. The room itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Location was really good; lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Also walking distance to Old Quarter and Train Street. Thank you. The shower was really slippery and toilet facilities a bit small. Sometimes ran out of hot water but not always.

• Ekaterina (10/5): Great! - The best customer service and management I’ve seen through my Vietnam trip. I had awful experience before in another 4 star hotel in Hanoi, so I moved to that one. It was really good decision. Since the start stuff gave me a really good attitude, was helpful and very professional. In comparing with another hotel it’s 200% value for money :) really advise to chose that place for comfortable stay. Also, room is clean, no any mold, nice smell and convenient place!

We found multiple hairs and shaving hair in several places in the room and bathroom which didn’t come from us. The rooms were tiny, you couldn’t even open a suitcase in there and walk around. No windows in the room. There was also several mix ups regarding our booking, and trips we booked through the hotel regarding timings and any info.

• Lara (8/5): Very good - Nice location in the heart of it all. Queen balcony rooms are a good size. Balcony room facing the street is quite noisy at night.
• Rachael (6/5): Wrong photos of the rooms on booking.com - I enjoyed the decor in the lobby and in the rooms. The location was also good. When we arrived at the property, we were placed in rooms which were not the ones we booked. The photos on booking website do not accurately represent the room which we were given. When we raised this with the staff they told us we were in the right rooms, and after some back and forth, did agree that the photos were wrong on booking.com. The room we were given was right off the lobby so everyone entering and leaving the hotel passed right by, and it had no external window, and it was only possibly squeeze each side of the bed, the room was so small. Eventually they were able to move us to better rooms after the first night, but this is clearly a misrepresentation and needs to be rectified by the property.

• Shubhroparno (5/5): Good location but for the price and quality, you can easily find other hotels nearby that are better value for money - Really good location in the centre of Old Quarter. Everything was within a 10-20 mins walk from the hotel including top sightseeings and food spots. If your room has a balcony, then that’s quite nice as well. A few things that were an issue: 1. This might be related to Booking.com, but different tabs on Booking.com showed different prices and when we booked, it automatically matched the higher price without disclosing beforehand and charged my card. 2. At the hotel, they upgraded us to another room because our original room was ‘having issues’ but then after one night (of our two day stay) we were asked to change rooms to the original room, which of course is very inconvenient because we have to pack and unpack again. When we raised this as a complaint, they said they could refund us and we could just find another hotel. So we were asked to choose between moving rooms or not having a hotel room. - I have never heard this done to a customer before. 3. The toilet in the room provided to us was SO tiny, if you showered, the entire washroom would get wet (there was essentially no barrier between shower area and the rest of the washroom) and we literally could not step in after a shower for an entire day and had to use all towels just to wipe the floor

• Vanessa (1/5): Awful experience! - The position This was an absolutely dreadful experience, and I strongly advise against staying here. Despite having booked our rooms months in advance, Amica claimed upon our arrival that they had no rooms available for us. Without providing any details, they sent us to another hotel by taxi, not even telling us the name of the new hotel. The taxi driver couldn’t locate the second hotel initially, which added to the confusion and frustration. After multiple calls to Amica, the taxi finally brought us to the correct location. At the second hotel (Pomihoa Hotel), there was no record of our transfer from Amica. We had to contact Amica again, but the phone number listed on Booking.com—through which we had reached them earlier—was now unresponsive. Eventually, the staff at Pomihoa helped us by calling a different number for Amica that we found on Google. After hours of hassle, we were finally given rooms, but they were in appalling condition: cobwebs everywhere, uncomfortable pillows, and an overall lack of cleanliness. Sleeping was impossible. This entire ordeal was completely unacceptable. Avoid Amica at all costs!
