• Anna Batten (10/5): - Absolutely perfect Motel, you can tell the owners takes pride in their establishment, clean, comfortable, lots of extras, and just the little things that matter, have laundry facilities, close to the beach, quiet, and the staff are lovely, its a bit further out of town, but worth the 10 minute drive, this is up there in our top 5 places we've stayed at on our trip, would definitely recommend Nothing

It was a quiet location, very clean room, the bed was comfy and had all the conveniences you would need and more! You even have your own car park right outside your door. The staff were also very friendly. Nothing to dislike.

• Dave (10/5): - Despite a poor initial impression before arrival due to comms (see below) it was comfortable, very clean, quiet, convenient, good facilities in an excellent state of order and a good layout for cooking own meals (tho we ate out). Lovely, helpful staff. Easy parking. Laundry convenient but coin operated not card: reception was able to issue coins however. Contact with check in details not via Booking.com messaging but SMS to UK number (SIM switched off!). They demanded I phone in advance to find room number (or I wouldn't find out if I didn't arrive before reception closed) and to give credit card details in case they need to charge extras - we paid in advance! Over years of using Booking.com for many places I have never experienced this and it creates a bad impression before arrival: if you don't get there before reception closes or phone in advance with card details, you can't have your room! Laundry is open much of the time but coins only available from reception when open.

Units facilities are very outdated and could do with a revamp at some point in the future, we did also have quite a few millipedes in our room, but aside from that lovely stay

• Jenni (9/5): Good location, clean and comfortable. - It was clean and well presented. Bed comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. Walking distance to the beach and cafe. Also, as we were there for “Lighting the Sound” there were free shuttle buses close by which was a bonus. Too many beds in the room for just a couple. We were just grateful that the rooms next door didn’t have families in them because it may have got noisy.

The well equipped kitchen was a bonus. Full-sized fridge, good quality pans to cook with. Linen and kitchen items you can tell are upgraded when necessary as everything was in good condition. Beach towels and extra pillows appreciated and everything in working order and well maintained. Friendly staff too and it is obvious they strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend. Nothing to dislike. Everything was spot on!

During the night, our room was invaded by a swarm of millipedes, resulting in sleepless nights and a heightened concern about potential infestations in our ears. The hotel owner has offered a partial refund, which we believe is insufficient given the unsatisfactory experience we endured. A full refund would be more appropriate in this situation.

• Alison (7/5): Great location but dated and no soundproofing - Clean, comfortable bed, great location. I appreciated the laundry facilities. There’s no soundproofing so I couldn’t sleep. I could hear every word of the people on either side of my room and even hear them in the bathroom, both very early in the morning and late at night. The kitchen window could do with a curtain as it’s bright very early in the morning. I couldn’t get the hob to heat properly so I had to throw out the food I couldn’t cook.

• SitiSarah (6/5): Great location, comfortable, wish the front door had a fly screen, so that the door can be opened. - Location is fantastic, 5minutes bike ride to Emu Point Cafe, 100metres to the beach. The highlight is the closed in Gazebo barbecue facilities! It is very impressive, it had everything in the barbecue area, fresh tea towels, baking paper to cover the barbecue plate, microwave, kettle. Have dinner without the hassle of night insects bothering you & your food. 10/10 Barbecue facilities👍🏽. Our bathroom drain had bad odour coming through the drain, not very pleasant at all, luckily we can keep the toilet door closed, had it reported, on our last day of the 3x nights, as we thought it would go away. Great location & comfortable. No bike racks, but provide storage place in their locked courtyard.

• Heidi-Lea (7/5): Overpriced, but tidy for a short stay - The property was tidy and the outdoor gardens at the back were great for kids to explore (highly recommend to book these more modern style & spacious rooms). There was an activity & eating room which had small amount of activities for kids and protected from weather if you want to cook an indoor bbq. Heaps of tables & chairs to sit under the trees too and roll a bbq in your own area. The room was simple, with a kitchenette and handy for cooking meals at the motel. With a large fridge and freezer. The bathroom was big enough for the standard room. For $260 per night for three people, I found this accommodation to be overpriced. The room was very basic and the interior felt outdated. Noise travelled easily — we could clearly hear neighbours watching TV and using the bathroom. Housekeeping was not done regularly unless we specifically asked for fresh towels or bed linen to be changed. Prior to arrival, I called to request a room near the rest of our family who were staying at the same property and was told this would be arranged. On check-in day, I received an email explaining that a room number would be provided, but it never came through. When I called to follow up, the staff member was quite short and advised they were behind on cleaning. When we eventually received our keys, our room was not near our family as promised. While not a major issue, it was disappointing that the request was agreed to and then not honoured. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations for the price paid.

• Loy (6/5): Lacklustre Albany - The room was very clean and it was comfortable. The motel is a little tired. The grounds could have done with some basic yard maintenance. We utilised the frozen meal service as there is nothing really close by, would not eat at that restaurant! I did not like that I was hounded by the motel about providing my credit card details as "security". None of the other motels during our recent trip to WA did this. One would assume that paying through Booking.com would provide the vendor with information in the event of any damages.
• Netty (10/5): Cozy Weekend Gateway stay - The rooms were clean and kitchenware provided and the place was quiet at night and the surrounding environment was beautiful with rabbits roaming around the yard that was fun to watch at night and early mornings. The Location is just few minutes from main center by car. Btw didn’t see public transport from the property, might have missed it. If you’re staying longer you have to request for them to give you fresh towels when needed.

• Gloria (10/5): We didn't have to worry about our accommodation and could enjoy our trips out each day. - Always a reliable place to stay in Albany. All good, the grassy surroundings were a bonus.
