Guest Reviews
- Daniela (9/5): - Ein wunderschönes Hotel in toller Lage.
Muchissimas gracias, Cristina 💚
- Sebastia (9/5): - Entorno envidiable, cuidados detalles, y atencion personal cuidada.
Cristina, espero volver a pasar unos días ahí.
- Melanie (10/5): A Special Place in My Heart, can’t wait to come back! - This is such a special place, the photos don’t do it justice. Located in the neighborhood of Gijon, it was very easy to drive into town and anywhere we wanted to go. Cristina, the host, was so helpful with sightseeing, the history and places to go and where to park, which is always important when traveling with a vehicle. Plus there were several amazing restaurants in the neighborhood you don’t need to drive into town to have world class cuisine. We enjoyed every evening sitting outside the inn with a bottle of wine and some charcuterie we picked up in town at the local grocery store. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and homemade. A great way to start the day. Cristina loves this place and the area and it shows. I only wish we had stayed longer.

- Anónimo (10/5): Peaceful countryside escape just minutes from Gijón - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Rural Casona de Cefontes. The property is set in a very peaceful and quiet area surrounded by nature, which made it perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. At the same time, it’s just a short drive from Gijón, so we could easily enjoy the city and the coast while returning to a tranquil setting.
The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel truly at home. A beautiful place to unwind, highly recommended!
- Gérard -Pierre (8/5): Muy bien! -
- Chris (9/5): Well located and comfortable. - Very good breakfast. Well located for visits to Gijon and Oviedo. Helpful staff who drew our attention to local points of interest. Nothing, it met all our expectations.
- Lisa (10/5): Beautiful stay in countryside ! - Beautiful property outside of Gijon. This place was so peaceful. The room was located on upper floor & had a great view of countryside. Our host - Christine was welcoming & helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean & beds were very nice. The morning breakfast was yummy & had fresh ingredients from the local area. The breakfast room was nicely appointed & had a country vibe. This whole property was beautiful & I highly recommend. Having to leave after only 1 night.
- Carolyn (10/5): We didn't want to leave! - Loved everything about this property! For starters, we were warmly greeted by our delightful hostess, Cristina, and set up in a lovely garden room with direct access to the yard. The view is of pastures and orchards with the city of Gijón in the distance. The very comfortable bed with cozy bedding and peaceful surroundings made for a solid night's sleep! The breakfast table was set with a variety of delicious items including a yummy bagel sandwich, local yogurt, and freshly made juice from the property's own apple trees. Truly a wonderful experience as Cristina took such good care of us!
- Jorge (10/5): Estancia y acogida espectacular!
- Reyes (10/5): Esperamos volver pronto!
- Chris (10/5): Cristina was charming and made our stay perfect we highly recommend staying at this beautiful peaceful property with stu - Everything was excellent can’t fault anything at all
- Jean-pierre (9/5): - Emplacement personnel parlant français
- James (10/5): Could have stayed longer - Lovely property
Very welcoming staff
Good breakfast
Well maintained grounds
Great for our wee dog Nothing. We lived the hotel.
- Birgit (8/5): Prima verblijf gehad! Bedankt voor de fijne tips! - Vriendelijke ontvangst! Fijn dat we meteen leuke tips kregen!
Nette kamer! Alles was prima.
- Irene (10/5): EXCEPCIONAL ESTANCIA - FANTASTICO ALOJAMIENTO Y TODO CUIDADO CON ESMERO NADA, TODO NOS ENCANTO

- Katharina (10/5): Warm stay at a small familiar hotel in Asturias - Lovely silent place in the nature, but not far from the city;
Christina puts so much passion into what she does. She gave us lots of great recommendations for our time in Asturias. You immediately feel welcome because everyone is so friendly. The breakfast was very tasty and varied.
The hotel is very easy to reach by car and it’s also not far from the cities.
Everything is very clean and lovingly decorated. /
Viajo a menudo y no pido nunca toallas diarias.
- Katalin (10/5): Wonderfully idyllic hotel for a perfect stay - The hotel is wonderfully idyllic, inside and outside, with lots of nice and friendly details. The room was very nice and clean with a beautiful view. Cristina, the hostess is very kind and helpful. Small attentions, like fresh bottle of water each day in the room and treats for our furry friend made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was varied with quality products and good coffee. We would definitely recommend this hotel! I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Thelma (10/5): Great start to our holiday - Excellent welcome and advice on region.
Delicious breakfast and thoughtful attention to all aspects of stay.
Liked access to garden from bedroom. n/a
- Janice (10/5): What a beautiful property, and a truly delightful host! She gave us lots of great advice - Homemade yogurt was a star! A full breakfast, generous variety and servings. Great coffee!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Peace and tranquility. Plus help in booking restaurant and taxis they were great Hosts Road to the Hotel are Narrow. But take your time. Plenty of sights to get you there
- Deltadad (10/5): A little piece of Camino heaven - We loved our stay. Arriving on Camino (only 400 m off the valley Camino route) was like reaching a little piece of heaven. Christina's welcome was like a great, big hug. The property and the building are beautiful with a broad view over Gijón. Our room was large, bright, modern, very well appointed and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The whole building had an air of serenity. Cristina provided abundant local information and recommendations, making sure we could get dinner earlier than usual at the nearby Sideria. The breakfast buffet was large and varied with many delicious homemade items. We can't express how much we enjoyed our stay.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexey (9/5): Very nice hotel, big free private parking. Access by car requires driving in residential area, which may be complicated - Location, staff, free parking, ambience of rural estate The breakfast is very limited.
- Carole (9/5): A great stay with the dog! - Cristina was brilliant- very helpful. Gave us tips where to go with the dog. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The location was great for dog walking, with a 15 minute drive to a dog friendly beach with lots of free parking we would have liked to be able to get a hot drink either in the room or downstairs in the restaurant during the day
- Oxfordian11 (9/5): Superb -
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harmannus (10/5): Comfortable and convenient place to use as base to explore central Asturias or for a rest. - Nicely repurposed farm with good level of authenticity. Good countryside location from which it was easy to explore the region and to visit Gijon. Convenient parking. Very friendly staff. Christina gave good suggestions for sightseeing and things to do. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast. Our room slightly on the small side. As it is a repurposed farmhouse, the windows are quite small. Therefore, breakfast room is quite dark. Could be by more bright lighting.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic hotel in a quiet and beautiful area outside Gijon. Very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful especially Christina, who was very nice, friendly, and helpful. We are definitely coming back to Rural casona de cefontes. We had to leave.
- Patrick (10/5): Great option if stopping in Gijon. - Cristina and staff could not be more welcoming. Cristina spent so much time advising us and providing us with as much information as possible to make the most of our stay.
The breakfast was excellent and was served up to 10 Am.
Our dog was accommodated as much as possible.
The Wifi was good as I had to do some work. No real place to work if you need to, apart from our room and even then not really set up for that.
You need a car to get anywhere.
No bar or food available after breakfast and Gijon shuts down during the day so you need to plan around that.
- Yorksgireman54 (10/5): A delightful guesthouse in the rural outskirts of Gijon - A delightful guesthouse in the rural outskirts of Gijon, with the perfect welcoming and helpful host, Cristina. We had a beautiful room with views over the town to the sea.
Breakfast was superb with a wide variety of delicious food, orange juice and tea or coffee.
Whilst the guest house is in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting, it is only an easy 7 minute drive to the town centre. There was nothing not to like about this guesthouse.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Nice house on large landscaped lot A bit of noise from the highway
- Gal (10/5): Best place to stay in Asturia - This is an amazing place. We enjoyed so much that we have extended our stay.
I really recommend staying there if you are travelling in Asturia
Cristina is such a great host always willing to assist and even gives interesting tips for travelling.
We will come back for sure
- Mihael (10/5): Exceptional - We were so heartly welcomed by Christina and the stay there was very pleasant. She gave us good information about the places to visit and places to eat the local food(which is crazy good). The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Definitely our hotel next time, when we visit Asturias.
- Frank (9/5): Superb - What a wonderful place this is! The hotel is in a beautiful location with a charming (fruit tree) garden. The welcome from Cristina was very warm and she talked about the area with great enthusiasm. You get access to a very extensive (homemade) app with all kinds of information about the region in useful sections. Because we traveled with our dog, we also received a list of all the catering establishments in the area where the dog was also welcome! The hotel and the rooms are furnished with taste and care. Our room also had an outside area with a seating area. The breakfast is well prepared and tasty. If you are looking for a hotel in the Gijón area, you won't find much better than this one.
- Trudy (10/5): Exceptional service, great facilities, and beautiful location. - The location was beautiful, set amongst the hotel’s lovely orchard. The semi rural views from the rooms were great. The breakfast was fantastic in its quality and variety. Loved the freshly made jam with fruit from the hotel’s orchard!
Cristina, the manager, was exceptional in the service she provided. Incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. She made the hotel feel like a home away from home, and provided us some fantastic tips for places to visit, and where to eat in the area.
I could not recommend a stay at this hotel more highly. Many thanks to Cristina and all the other staff that made our stay there such an enjoyable one.
- Antonio (10/5): Friendly country stay close to all the attractions! - This is a beautiful Rural B&B right outside Gijon in the Asturias. The Owner was pleasant, knowleadgeable of the whole history and surroundings. Right after we arrived she made a game plan for us to start exploring and enjoying the amazing places and taste some delicious food only found in that part of Spain. all in all was a great short stay that left that taste of one day come back to stay longer and enjoy more. We'll definetely stay here again if giving the opportunity. We liked it at all!
- Sandra (10/5): Excellent! - Everything: our room was comfortable and quiet, the property is beautiful and peaceful, breakfast had lots of tasty options and, most of all, our hostess was charming, thoughtful and gracious. The location felt rural, but it was a very short and easy drive to Gijon. Highly recommended!
- Samuel (9/5): Beautiful and calm. - The property is beautiful. I like the older stone style that matches the rural area more than a modern-looking stay. The breakfast was simple but delicious, and Cristina the owner/host was incredibly welcoming. Though the house is an older style, she had several techs bonuses— like a wifi thing that connects you if your phone touches it. The little details like embroidered towels and handmade ceramics are really nice too. Not their fault, but there was extremely loud rock echoing from afar for part of our stay. No idea where it came from but I wear earplugs anyway. Just a note for anyone who may stay. Totally could just be a one time thing.
- Jo (9/5): Superb - Quiet, beautiful gardens full of fruit trees. Friendly host who went out of her way to give us advice, we really appreciated it 😊
- Catherine (8/5): Pleasant country hotel with super-friendly hostess. Excellent value. - Lovely property in nice setting. Christina, our hostess, was an absolute delight - friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well-ordered. Breakfast was very nice with eggs cooked to order. All in all, very good value. Temperature controls on the bath/shower were a tad temperamental and took a bit of time to master.
- Katrien (9/5): Superb - very nice place to stay -
- Tristan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property with a great garden, fruit trees and views of the hills.
Excellent room and amenities.
Very friendly and helpful hostess who gave us great tips and was always delightful. It would have been perfect if we had the option to buy wine bottles from the venue.
- Amazon (10/5): Exceptional - Honestly one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The owner Cristina went out of her way to make sure we had a great time and that we knew exactly where to go for food etc.
Rooms so comfy and nice breakfast too!
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional - A very nice landlady, beautiful surrounding and a nice, fresh breakfast.
- Mark (10/5): Great place to stay if visiting Gijon and the surrounding area - A lovely house in a great, peaceful location, close to the city of Gijon. Our room had a view over the garden to the city and sea. We were met by the owner Christina, who was charming, she gave us lots of information and recommendations of things to do, places to visit and eat.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice and variety each day.
The room was clean, warm and had everything we needed. The only negative is not to do with the hotel but the location, there is no restaurant at this hotel for an evening meal and there didn't appear to be anything nearby so we had to go into Gijon each night to eat. Christina recommended restaurants which were great.
- Suzy (10/5): perfecto! - stunning property, so pretty and perfect in every way. The flowers were so beautiful.
Cristina was so lovely and informative, super professional.
Such a wonderful rural setting in a very classy area. all great, very hard to fault.
- Rob (10/5): we had two nights & Cristina was really helpful. Breakfast was very good & she gave us details of very nice plac - The owner was very helpful & a pleasure to talk to. all good
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Cristina is welcoming and lovely. The hotel is historic, peaceful and immaculate, and our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet is fabulous. Try the yogurt from local cows! Delicious!
- James (10/5): James and Rachael early may both late 60s - Amazing host Christina wonderful recommendations, especially the restaurant, special thanks to Rafa who made us so welcome we went twice!! There is nothing to not like
- Victor (10/5): Can’t imagine a better place in the countryside . - The host Cristina was amazing. new wifi system did not work in room.
- Jen (10/5): A must stay! - We got a lovely warm welcome on arrival from Cristina our host. She is so friendly, helpful and professional and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. She gave us maps and recommendations of places to visit, what to see and where to eat/drink. She made us feel like we were at home! Room was spotless and cosy! Lots of lovely, personal touches. You can tell Cristina is very passionate about what she does and this shows. Very enjoyable breakfast with home made jam from oranges in the garden. A great selection and very filling! Her little helper Naia (the boss!) made our morning! :) We loved our 2 night stay (originally only planned to stay 1 night). Would highly recommend. Not far from Gijon and other places of interest. Beautiful grounds and very quiet. Great for our dog too! Nothing. It was perfect for us! :)
