Guest Reviews
- lukas (10/5): - Connection with nature everything was great
- Ella (7/5): Friendly host - The location
- Linh (10/5): - Love the friendliness of the owners and the cute animals.
- andrew (9/5): - Rustic which, is exactly what we expected. Nice location and has everything you need. Proprietor is accommodating and helpful. Would recommend this place for sure. Wife found the shower a bit exposed and it was a bit chilly when we arrived. Not a problem for me but i get it if you're a little less robust!
- Porad-Addlem (4/5): Great view, but not peaceful - The shower was 9/10
The view was 10/10
The heating and air-conditioning was 10/10
The fire pit was 7/10 When arriving at the property's after doing sight seeing each day and seeing family was always greeted with 2 small dogs growling at me and running up to me and I had to run from my car try and unlock the door as fast as I could each time I came back as I was worried they would bite me also had a larger dog jump all over me whilst trying to unlock room, the only other house down this road has 2 dogs that run out in front of your car each time you drive past it which is every time you enter or exit, I met the owner he explained his 2 friends were staying in there caravan approximately 10 meters from the shed where I stayed.
I had to contact owner at 4am to come and make sure everything was okay as there was a dog barking for 2 hours straight right outside my door and I couldn't sleep, the Owner explained to me his friends had gone away to the airport and he was looking after their dogs. This was very frustrating. The dunno was no issue it self as a whole but not sure why it isn't just completely open, every time I did a poo it got stuck sitting that front part. It's completely understand and gross when u have to do wee in your poo nearly touching your body, very limited lighting to toilet,
No garbage bags for bin, no milk on arrival, no tv and no mention of the fact if it rains and you don't have a 4wd I don't believe you would make it along the road to the shed at all
- Teakau (10/5): AMAZING 🤩 x relaxing can’t wait to come back - Just loved everything x what’s cool cute experience.

- Lori (10/5): Very peaceful setting, I had a wonderful stay. Marc was lovely and accomodating. - It was very peaceful. Loved the animals. The shower was beautiful, with a wonderful view There was nothing not to like.
- Megan (9/5): Peaceful, comfortable and convenient. - I loved the tranquility and close proximity to port Elliot and Goolwa. The room was so comfortable and I loved the hosts passion for alternative building solutions and offering an alternative accommodation experience. The shower with rain water and a view was exceptional. The composting toilet is such a refreshing solution to sustainable east management. It didn’t smell due to its thoughtful and advanced diverting technology. The only thing was not having a secured insect screen door. The curtains were ok but not able to be secured to seal the door.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the animals and the look out for sunset😃 Just new with the toilet part but ot was okay😊
- Malachi (8/5): Very good -
- Kelvin (1/5): Don't book ever!! - Room dirty, spider webs, no running water. outside toilet 20m away, combustible toilet and had only available hand basin but only cold tap with water available. outside toilet 24m away, with 1.5m wall, not private; dog poo everywhere
- Eric (1/5): Bad - It was a tool shed. Things looked and seemed clean inside but the facilities were not good. It was a warm and very windy afternoon so it was stuffy inside as there was no air con or fan. Couldn't open the entrance door for ventilation as there was no screen. When closed it rattled.
Could go on........
- Zena (9/5): Great to detach and unwind from society! - Beautiful, cosy and very comfortable little spot in the SA countryside. A slightly different take on your typical "tiny" house. But fantastic all the same. If you need some alone time individually or as a couple, without the distractions of devices, technology and TV, then this is a fantastic spot to get exactly that.
My only feedback would be, and it's by no means a negative (it's just me being lazy, lol 😊) is that while a fridge is provided, it would be fantastic if a fridge (even a smaller one) could be housed within the shed itself. But this is something I think the owners might be looking at organising. Marc was a fantastic host and it was great meeting the local fur and feathered residents. There was nothing not to like.
- Alexander (10/5): Fantastic place to stay, a really authentic Aussie rural experience, with serious charm and comfort - Wow! What a place! I'm so pleased I chose this as a place to stay on my Australian Road Trip. It is a real gem of a find, for a really authentic Aussie rural experience. It was a pleasure to meet with and talk with the host there, he clearly goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome. The "Shed" had everything I needed for a very comfortable, quiet self-catered stay, including the fridge-freezer, shower and toilet in the small buildings a short walk away. It is set on an expansive rural property, with an off-grid feel yet still comfortable and cosy. I loved walking around the grounds, meeting the sheep and alpacas, hearing the frogs from the nearby pond as I went to sleep, and the cacophony of birdsong the next morning. I would like to have stayed longer, to have explored the surrounding rural area further.
