Guest Reviews
- Ramírez Mena (3/5): - La vista La suciedad
- Habermayr (7/5): -
- Jack (8/5): No frills hotel run by a man with a big smile - The hotel was a no frills establishment. Towels, a working bathroom, comfortable beds and the like were all provided.
The highlight was the ever present gentlemen with the big smile. He offered friendliness and good advice concerning transport. No complaints. The facilities reflected the honest price.
- Laury (9/5): - Lieu charmant, propre et calme. Douche avec débit très faible et peu d'eau chaude
- Carlos Hugo (9/5): - El lugar era acogedor y reservado. Era un poco lejos de la plaza y una noche el foco del cuarto se encendió solo porque la habitación vecina encendió su foco, fue muy raro.
- Danna (9/5): Superb - Peaceful place, with areas to hangout.
- Tjalfe (10/5): Super sweet staff<3 -
- Asha (7/5): Great value for money - Overall our stay was good! The beds were comfortable and the terrace upstairs has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The property is a bit of a walk from the main town but this wasn’t a problem. The bathroom in our room was very small and had no ventilation.
- Kristóf (7/5): Good -
- Aponte (1/5): Bad -
- Max (2/5): Nothing dulce; barely manages agua. - N/A. There is nothing ‘dulce' about this place.
It barely manages ‘agua’: a brownish liquid seeps from the sink tap before eventually turning clear if you pray fervently enough to Pachamama.
In the centre of the room, an unshaded jumbo bulb shines with a billion lumens, whiter than white, blinding you constanty, no matter where you look. It hangs precariously from two exposed wires, the red and the black, both unkempt and furry with dust, unidentifiable gunk and the body hair of previous occupants. These descend from a gaping hole in the ceiling as sinew from an open wound. The light fixture is the focal point of the room, with nothing on the walls but a jagged starfish of stones, an incongruous badge of dishonour.
An off-magnolia and stained curtain hangs from a loose wooden rail, not quite covering the whole of the window. The unpainted wooden door has one of those horizontal sliding locks used in public toilet cubicles.
The walls are thin enough that you can savour the symphony of stray dog altercations all night long, should you so wish. If that is not to your taste, you are right next to a kind of garage with a metal door that screeches with horror on being opened or closed. Its frequent use throughout the night will punctuate the canine cacophony and passing cars from the nearby main road, ensuring that, sonically, you will never get bored.
On top of this, there is a musty smell in the air like someone jumped in a puddle of sewage and left their wet shoes and socks in the middle of the room to dry out.
This all makes for quite the assault on the senses. It feels like vacationing in a torture chamber.
Inside the mattresses must be where the assortment of torture instruments are kept, as you can feel them, or something like them, digging into your spine and soft flesh as you lie there in agony, waiting for it all to be over. You are willing to confess to any crime, but there is no one around to hear it.
