Guest Reviews
- ashleigh (10/5): It was soo beautiful, nice an quiet, very cozy house. Good way to reset and get in touch with nature - The peace and quiet The stairs from the front of the house to the fire pit.
- Jessica (9/5): - Beautiful property, facilities, location
- Joe (10/5): More beautiful, peaceful and scenic than the pictures. - It was more beautiful than we imagined from the pictures. Peaceful, quiet and scenic. Nothing! The oven had a slight issue and communication with the owner was very prompt and perfect. Definitely nothing to complain about.
- Alexandria (8/5): -
- Helene (8/5): Pretty as a picture with fabulous walking tracks & lookout. Hosts were friendly & accessible. - If you are looking to get away from the city hustle this is the place for you. It is an absolute retreat from city/suburbia. Quiet and serene with lovely walks to go on. The scenery was extremely picturesque. I stayed there with my 23yr old daughter - for a wedding but I can imagine it being great for a family or for a romantic getaway. Didn't really use the kitchen or cook while we there but the place was very clean, beds were super comfy and there was a lot of space & seating. You will need to travel along a long dirt road to get to your destination. The road was suitable for regular cars BUT my car was absolutely filthy afterwards and I definitely had to clean it after I got home. Not a negative on the house but just something to bear in mind. There's also NO TV. We watch a LOT of TV so initially it was like OMG but there were games to play & lots to explore & encouraged both of us to read and talk.
- Graham (9/5): - Beautiful setting.
Lovely cottage.
Amazing Wild life (except for snakes)
Fire pit See wildlife comment.
- Alyce (10/5): If paradise exists, we found it here. - A place like no other, I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was like being in paradise. Nature everywhere. Woke up to birds singing, wallabies, reptiles. The sound of frogs from the creek. Waking up in the morning along the creek. So much space. Of the fireplace out back, BBQ, swing chairs. Near by kennilworth bakery, water falls and swimming spots. A rare find. I would have loved a bath. Even an outdoor bath would have taken this property to the next level. But being off grid, it might be hard. In saying that swimming places are very close by.
- Carmel (9/5): A peaceful slice of countryside. - The peace and quiet, birdlife, wallabies, a few cows, walk along the creek, lovely hot shower, warmth of morning sun at the kitchen table, plenty of light from the skylight, lovely spot on the verandah, experiencing an 'off-grid' house. The bed was warm and cosy but the mattress sinks a bit in the middle so we kept rolling together. Also the mattress collapses on the edges, so maybe not a particularly good quality. The slab of foam on top of the mattress created hot spots which became quite uncomfortable at times.
Bathroom very dark so needed to turn the light on whenever we entered. As this is an 'off-grid' property and we tried to follow all the energy-saving requests, we suggest putting in a small skylight.
All the curtains bunch up on the floor and are a potential trip hazard and are easily soiled. We understand that some interior decorators like this style, but we think it's not very practical.
On our arrival, the fireplace still had a pile of ash in it. We ensured we left it cleaner than we found it.
- Genevieve (7/5): Secluded peaceful location. Access tricky if there had been recent rain, would need 4WD . Suggest buying the firewood at - Kitchen was well equipped, open fire (but wood not supplied). Good veranda and lovely shower/bathroom. We weren’t aware of the access (dirt/gravel road) and 4 flood ways (which all had the creek running over them) including the driveway. Only told after we’d paid the non refundable deposit. Lucky I could swap cars to a 4WD. Also you’d think if a property promotes a fire pit and inside open fire they would supply wood or at least offer to stock for you. Bed was comfortable enough but very thick plastic under sheet. Veranda was lovely but nothing comfortable to lounge on. The house full of plastic plants!
- Emma (9/5): Excellent - Quiet and peaceful! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. While we stayed in May and were mindful of power usage, we had no issues with the off-grid setup (even with overcast weather). We found the best places to buy firewood were Woolworths Maleny and the local Conondale shop. Kitchen very well equipped. Be mindful if you do not have a suitable car you may find the floodways an issue. We took a 4WD so found it easy to navigate the streams over the roads. In fine weather the roads would be fine, we had rain on and off. The accommodation management checked in with us the day of arrival to ensure we had appropriate transport. All part of the fun and secluded nature of the spot!
- Claire-mary (10/5): Relaxing - Secluded, quiet, beautiful Extra comfy seating out on deck/inside would be a bonus
- Wayne (10/5): A really great getaway !! - The most amazing stay and perfect getaway. The property incredibly well presented, tidy, clean and had a great feel.
- Zoe_b90 (10/5): Great countryside escape! - What a stunning property! We really enjoyed our 2 nights at this property. Great location to check out the nearby Booloumba Creek. The house was styled beautifully. Very cosy farmhouse vibe. The bathroom was beautiful, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook up a christmas day feast. This is the perfect off grid home if you are looking to get away for some TLC. We will definitely be back again!
