Guest Reviews
- Edle (10/5): - I had a fantastic 2-night stay at 189 Gloucester Place and would happily return. The location is perfect—quiet enough to relax, yet close to everything you need, with great transport links nearby making it easy to get around London.
The room was spotless, well-presented, and very comfortable. The bed was especially cosy, and I appreciated the little touches that made the space feel welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. Everything I needed was provided, and the overall cleanliness was excellent.
Communication with the host was smooth and efficient from start to finish. Check-in was straightforward, and I felt well looked after throughout my stay.
Overall, a lovely, hassle-free experience in a great location. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in London!
- Faisal (10/5): - Everything Nothing

- Emmely (8/5): The landlady it's complet kind person she did amazing for my experience. It was fantastic - The property it's lovely Just the bathroom it's outside the room but still good for the location
- gilaysa (8/5): -
- Shanice (9/5): - The location was great, the room was the right size for the short stay, we had facilities to cook even though we didn't The bathroom being across the hall, the bed size is like a small double rather than an adult double, wish we had more pillows and blankets
- Gulnar (5/5): - The main thing that I liked about this property was the location - you cannot complain. Perfectly located near towards the tube station and train station.
Host was pretty responsive with any queries - so that is always helpful.
Wifi/TV worked really well and the kitchen/kitchenette had all the items one might need during their stay. This advert for this place could be better as it either misses key information or the details of the place is hard to find/locate. This is essentially a basement studio, with a private bathroom that is not directly attached to the room itself.
Post reflection of my stay, I can definitely say/confirm the following. This place is more suitable for a single person due to the limited space and/or you intend to be out and about and the space is simply to be used to crash. The storage is pretty limited, so the space will be harder to navigate if you have big bags - please also note you will need to carry your luggage downstairs to the basement. This can be tricky.
When I stayed, London was very cold and this was reflected in the room - yes there is a radiator but it is located near the door and it could not warm the room adequately. The owner/host did provide a separate heater but unfortunately it did not work during my stay.
The Bed/pillows - were not of good quality, and in all honesty it left me very uncomfortable and not well rested. I would really suggest for the owner/host to update these asap.
The separate bathroom/shower - although the host describes it has dedicated to you, anyone can technically use it as there is no lock. Shower worked however, the drain system was not the best. This caused problems for me during my stay.
- Marissa (8/5): Great value in central location - Location, value, dog friendly. I was impressed with sound proofing so despite being on street, the aparthotel was quiet with dish soap and stove top and microwave in little kitchen. Would like private bathroom locked to be sure it is exclusively used only by my room. Signs said private use only but it wasn’t locked. Of course, could be bolted when in use.
- Halimah (5/5): Fantastic location but otherwise mediocre - good enough for a quick trip - The location was amazing it was very central and walking distance to everything. I think the location is the main drawing feature of this place. The rooms are decently sound proof and there's no problems with insects or noise or anything. It had a nice little kitchen cubby within the unit which you could use and the desk was very handy for any work you had to do whilst staying over. The heating worked really well and the bedding and seemed to be clean and they gave you plenty of towels to use. There's an ironing board, an iron and a hair dryer as well as a kettle with some coffee sachets and tea bags which was nice and basic kitchen stuff to use whilst you're staying over. Had a functioning electric hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. The bathroom was clean and pleasant enough to use. Curtains closed well and ensured that there was privacy and people couldn't easily see in. Super easy to get keys. The apartment is downstairs in a basement level with 2 other basements next door. The stairs are quite a tight turn and don't seem the safest to be going up/down. It's literally a tiny room with everything jam-packed which is to be expected from London tbh. The bathroom isn't so much private en suite but a "reserved" bathroom across the corridor which was misleading and it only had one toilet paper roll with no spares hidden around. There was heating but no AC and the room got quite warm you could try to open the window slightly/use a fan (which worked semi ok) but the window barely opened and it opened into a basement porch area next to the stairs that went upstairs. I don't really get the point of coffee sachets/ english tea without milkpots/milk. The bed doesn't look exactly like the photo and the desk is opposite the folding out kitchen unit so that it's close enough to the extension lead which are the only 4 sockets in the apartment despite the 1 in the kitchen for the kettle/toaster. When you walk in it's very underwhelming even for a budget London studio given the photos. The floor was slightly sticky.
- Iryna (9/5): -
- Gill (10/5): Would definitely stay here again. A stroll to the shops and park - Everything was just so clear and easy, thank you There was nothing not to like as everything was at it was described.
- simon (1/5): Please avoid staying here until these issues are fixed - Close to Baker street and tubes Bathroom-not in studio, located other end of property, sink must be blocked as very slow to drain, shower sets of the fire alarm as no extractor, no hand towel, dirty, studio- lack of utensils etc, ie 1 bowl no flying pan etc, fridge falls over on every use, no tea towel, no window to outside, no tv channels, wall heater not fixed to wall, 2 cups-1 broken, seating for 1 only at small table, no tea/coffee/sugar
- Adrian (7/5): Dobra lokalizacja w umiarkowanej cenie, ale właściciel powinien zadbać o klienta - Lokalizacja, bliskość atrakcji, sklepów i komunikacji miejskie. Dobrze działający internet i smartTV., działające ogrzewanie pralko-suszarka, deska do prasowania i żelazko. Brak istotnych szczegółów w ogłoszeniu i właściwych zdjęć dopasowanych do sprzedawanej oferty. Brak okna z dostępem do świeżego powietrza, wybrakowane naczynia (brak patelni, gąbki do mycia naczyń, sztućców, głębokich talerzy) w aneksie kuchennym,.
- Tom (1/5): Crazy host and misleading description. Do not book here, highly not recommended. - Crazy host and misleading description. Do not book here.
- Daniel (7/5): - The location is pretty superb - the studio is quite central without being pricey. It's good value for money, and it's in a good neighborhood that feels safe to walk around in the evenings. The basement level flat (apartment 3) makes a great use of the small space - I didn't expect a full kitchen hidden behind those cupboard doors, so I was quite impressed! The air con was easy to use, the rain shower setting was impressive. The tea/coffee box was also a nice touch. I wasn't notified at the time of booking that the private bathroom wasn't actually in the room - I think that should be made clear in the listing itself. It's down the hall through another door, and whilst it's lockable, there's nothing really stopping other guests from using it. The room is a bit dark and gloomy in the day if you don't use the lights. The place could do with a better clean in between bookings - I found someone else's sock beside the bed, and make-up in the desk drawer. The freezer could also do with being defrosted.
- Emma (8/5): Great value for location, a good little room to lay your head. - Location excellent, 5 min walk from tube. Clean and well equipped. Good powerful shower. Bathroom is along the hall (although for exclusive use). Floor was wet when we arrived (maybe condensation from shower?) but we just put a towel down.
- Cara (9/5): - Great location. Needed a fan as it was a very hot weekend
- Doherty (8/5): Very good - the location was great and the facilities such as hairdryer and kitchen were lovely to have the room was very warm and no actual window to let in fresh air
- Isabele (6/5): Pleasant - They are not flexible
- Wendy (7/5): Good -
- Moore (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (8/5): If you need a place to stay it’s perfect - Location Cold dripping shower
- Jade (6/5): Good location, very small. - Location is great. Room is tiny & bathroom is not private.
- Jas (5/5): Ideal for Central London but..... - Very convenient location for central London Baker Street. The apartment was clean, It's really designed for one, for two people it's very small and you keep bumping into each other or the furniture and as the previous reviewer states eating area seating is just for 1.
No natural sunlight, but that's what you get for booking a basement room. The window looks into another room, so have to have the blinds down
The bathroom is not in the apartment but across the hall and isn't private anyone staying could have used it. Shower pressure, none existing. Did message vendor and sent video too. They said i should have messaged him sooner but only booked for 1 night stay and tried to use it the morning of us leaving (22nd November). Promised £20 refund but not received and now told to message booking.com
Would i stay there again....no!
- Mike (7/5): Not the best for two people. - It was clean, tidy and kitchen had everything we needed. The room was warm and the bed comfortable and the location was ideal for getting around with Marylebone station a ten minute walk away. Small! Not suitable for two people, especially seniors. Only one chair and a very small table, one person had to eat sitting on the bed which was not comfortable at all. No where to sit and relax, there was only one office type chair. The bed was pushed tight into the corner and no bedside table to put things on. No natural light as it was down stairs in the basement and while private, the bathroom/toilet was across a hall and you had to pass other rooms to get to it. It was however clean and modern with a good shower but again so small you couldn’t get dressed in there after a shower so had to pick your moment to get back to the room. My wife and l joked the apartment was like being in a submarine, no daylight and having to ask permission to pass!
That being said we survived out three night stay. Oh, as well as a bedside table, a broom and an ironing board would be helpfully as would a couple of hooks on the door on the bathroom. Clothes etc had to be put on the floor!
