- Seeto (10/5): -
- Amy and David (6/5): Once there ckean and inviting house we'll appointed except fir the broken door for the pot cupboard. - No breakfast had trouble finding the place no signage abd no photo or directions to help find our way view of yacht masts was unexpected Finding the place entry was obscured by lines of traffic waiting for ferry
- Scarfe (10/5): “The Serenity” .. what more can I say. So relaxing - Everything .. so good !! A blind for the window above the bed would be nice !! Maybe some microwave dishes too !!
- Helen (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): A perfect accommodation to immerse ourselves in the region. - The house boat is very well presented. Everything seemed so luxurious and it was very clean. We really enjoyed sitting out at the table on the little deck watching the water activities. The weather was cold mostly while we stayed there and the heating in the living area was very good. The location was excellent. Mmmm... maybe another mirror - perhaps in the bedroom, over the chest of drawers.
- Tony (10/5): Lovely peaceful relaxing short stay. Will recommend - Location, peacefulness, cleanliness.... EVERYTHING!! Nothing at all
- Peter (10/5): Definitely a winner.,will stay again - Location was good and comfortable Nothing we didn’t like
- Winnie (8/5): - The location was lovely and the boathouse is stylish and charming, and a great change from hotels and run-of-the-mill B&Bs. Lovely views across the water. Beautiful landscape around the Kettering area. Great starting point for Bruny Island touring.
In October, before the peak holiday season, it is a peaceful get-away. Quiet and not many people. Arrived on a Tuesday when all cafes and restaurants were closed except Oyster Cove Inn: Limited food options. Recommend taking own provisions. I had no car and found the distance to Kettering village a bit far to walk.
- Bruce (9/5): Unique and fabulous location, very well presented, lots of nice little extra touches, clean. We had a special request, w -
- Lisa (10/5): - Even though the weather was awful, it was still incredibly enjoyable. It was our second time staying here and we will be back again. Nothing
- john (10/5): Absolutely awesome - The location was amazing, the views spectacular. The whole place was so comfy We had to leave
- Gregor (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - The location and amenities. Eco composting toilet.
- Kerry (10/5): You know how you don’t want to tell anyone about something so good cause you want to be able to return? - A little piece of heaven. Such an absolute treat to ourselves for our 37th anniversary. Dropped my reading glasses into the water. Too dark that night & overcast next day so couldn’t try to retrieve them.
- Ann (10/5): Unique getaway - The boat house is situated in a quaint little port with beautiful views across the harbour. The property is stylishly appointed with beautiful linen, a comfortable bed and great kitchen. Even has its own swans to greet you. A very unique property - perfect couples getaway. Village has no supermarket so make sure you've stocked up on supplies before you get to Kettering.
- Philip (10/5): Unusual location (floating house) but absolutely fabulous and very well fitted out with quality appl - Location fabulous, accommodation spotless, booking and key info easy to follow.
- Robert (6/5): Shamed there was no water views! - It was very clean and comfortable. Much thought was put in regarding all the extras. We booked as we loved the idea of being on the water with water views. But when we arrived there was a big boat moored out the front of the houseboat blocking all water views. It was there the entire stay. Very disappointing!
- Annabelle (9/5): Loved it! Would very highly recommend! - Excellent location, house design and interior - David was a wonderful, helpful host. Spectacular views of the boats and lovely to be amongst the harbour activity whilst also enjoying the peacefulness of the night.
- Linda (7/5): Great - The shower entrance was way too small, it needs to be reconfigured made wider as 14 inches is rediculous for the average built Australian
- Elspeth (10/5): Fantastic - A wonderful place to spend a few days of peace and beauty Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - So unique and a very comfortable home. Wish we had booked for a longer stay. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Beautifully clean and lovely property. Awesome welcome Composting toilet start to smell
- Alistair (10/5): What a gem - Idyllic location, fantastic facilities, and friendly owners. It is a brilliant place to stay.
- Lincoln (10/5): Terrific place to stay. - Wonderful place to stay - nice outlook and comfortable house on the water.
- Julia (10/5): A unique and beautiful treat of a stay in a peaceful location. - Everything about the stay was wonderful. It is ideally located close to the Bruny ferry and yet so quiet and peaceful. The layout of the houseboat is delightful and the decor is beautiful and thoughtful. We borrowed the esky for our trip to Bruny and brought back cheeses and oysters.
Sitting in the deck when the swans visited was a treat.
David was a very helpful and considerate host. Nothing
- Denise (10/5): Beautiful Floating home in a magnificent location - This was a very different way to stay for us. The home floats at the wharf and is immaculate inside. Its location at the ferry terminal for Bruny Island is really good and you can relax and watch the goings on at the jetty with all the local boats arriving and departing.
The home is equipped with everything you need and is spacious and has a wonderfully comfortable sofa.
Out front there’s two lounge chairs for relaxing and you can chat to the locals.
There’s a great pub a short easy walk up the road for a fabulous evening meal. Make sure you book a table it’s very popular. There’s good cafes around too and the home had a Nespresso pod machine so that was a good inclusion as well.
All in all Kettering was a highlight of our journey and we loved our floating home. It’s a great place to stay. So no complaints from us.
- Greta (10/5): This accomodation was literally ten out of ten! - The house boat was absolutely beautiful, just perfect for two after a visit to Bruny Island. It was so relaxing and peaceful sitting out on the deck watching the Swans and the fish. Although the interior of the boat was so nice we couldn't decide whether to sit inside or outside. There was nothing that we didn't like about this accommodation!
- Dianna (10/5): Beautiful - Unique accomodation with beautiful views, great location for nearby vineyards and island travel. Very local with a wonderful ambiance. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (10/5): Totally without hassle, friendly help and would recommend for a real break. - Excellent concept, well equipped and very comfortable The fish were not biting
- Nipper (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was amazing. Well appointed, fresh and clean, great spot and a point of difference floating. So great. Wish we stayed longer Nothing at all!
- David (10/5): We spent 3 weeks touring Tasmania and the houseboat experience surpassed all others. - An absolute delight, paricularly for those such as us with a nautical bent. The owner/host David made us feel particularly wanted and his boat tour was most memorable. It is difficult to top PERFECT.
- Nicole (10/5): I couldn’t have selected a better place or property for us to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary! - Well appointed accommodation, lovely decor and beautiful surrounds makes this an amazing property. It is set up for you to enjoy any weather, with cafe blinds outside, and heating/cooling inside. The location couldn’t be any better, with a number of hospitality options in close proximity, the bruny island ferry next door, and some nice walks around. And yet no noise! David and Karen have set up a lovely experience for people to enjoy - thank you!
