Guest Reviews
- SUZANNE (3/5): Looking over the wall- I’d say next doors villa is the one we should have booked, especially for the price we paid - so - Just completed a family holiday in Villa Maria and although the location for beach, restaurant and activities couldn’t be better - the Villa certainly could be. So where do I start - with the wooden flooring that is lifting and cracking, or the curtains hanging by a thread? Let me try and paint a full picture.
Villa Maria is very dated and in some places - in total disrepair. BBQ should not be advertised as a facility it’s so filthy and the gazebo is a contraption waiting to collapse.
Swimming pool has no depth indicators which I’m not even sure is legal where children are staying, so please be aware the deep end is at least 7 foot deep.
Back garden is a storage area for old glass windows and
an old garage is what is classed as the outdoor kitchen.
En suite shower cubicles on the ground floor are tiny and you will spend half your time trying to lock external doors with keys that stick or remembering to put a long screw in the patio doors (advised form of security!)
The aircon leaked over our pillows during the night and we seriously believe the electrics need redoing before there is an accident - bare cables visible on the outside patio ceiling and there are enough extension cables to cause a small fire being used to power fridge, washer, microwave in the garage/outdoor kitchen.
- Williams (9/5): Christmas villa in Albir - The villa was well equipped and very clean. The location was very convenient for the town, the beach and local transport. Nothing to dislike

- Melanie (9/5): Fantastic villa right in the heart of Albir, but you wouldn't know that as very peaceful surroundings! - Fantastic property - had everything we needed for a wonderful two week family holiday. Kids loved the pool and adults loved sitting around the patio area or catching some sun in the garden.
Owners were lovely, and very helpful with early access for bag drop off etc.
Idea location for getting in and around Albir or catching a bus to Benidorm or Altea. No need for a car with 3 or 4 well stocked supermarkets within a 10 minute walk. Wifi could have been a bit stronger downstairs, and more storage/bedside tables in the upstairs bedroom.

- Sara (10/5): The most amazing week in a perfect location - The property was fantastic. Perfect for what we needed. There was nothing we didn’t like about the villa.
- Jolene1708 (9/5): Wonderful 5 star stay in Albir Villa - We have quite specific needs as we are a family with two disabled children. I scoured Booking.com with a list of requirements when booking our Spanish holiday, and Villa Maria was top of the list. We were delighted to secure a booking on our chosen dates and we looked forward to holidaying there with our three children and their grandparents.
The house had all required amenities other than a dishwasher (which wasn't missed). There was plenty of space for 7 of us to be together and also have time apart. The outdoor area is wonderful with ample outdoor seating and sunbeds and a good sized pool. We loved that there were both options to sit under cover and in the sun but still be outside. A huge pull for us was the proximity to bars, restaurants and shops. The main strip through Albir is less than a one minute walk away. We travelled from Alicante Airport by taxi on arrival and we had no need for any more transport until we were collected to return to the Airport a week later. We were 15 minutes walk away from the beach and we had countless choices for supermarket shopping and dinner out each night within easy walking distance. Albir itself is a wonderful town and very family friendly. We will definitely be returning. There was very little to dislike. The only negatives we had was that the pool was very deep. It didn't really have a shallow end, and had a significant drop to the deep end almost as soon as we reached the bottom of the steps. It wasn't ideal for children but we managed by purchasing the children inflatable swimming rings.
As mentioned before, we have two disabled children. Our middle child is blind with poor mobility and we found the stairs to be a little dangerous for her. There is a rail on one wall, but it doesn't start until the 4th step (on a turn), and ends a couple of steps before the top (also on a turn). She needed to be escorted up and down the stairs to avoid falls. Had there been an extra rail at the top and bottom of the stairs (on the opposite wall to the existing rail), she would have been okay to navigate the stairs independently.
Saying that, we were quite happy to work around that. Everything else was perfect.
- Matthews (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing pubs and restaurants all round , the pool was fantastic Having to leave
- Janet (8/5): Villa was lovely - Location was excellent
- Curran (10/5): The perfect gem - The villa has its own pool and pool accessories....multiple loungers and outside seating area and seperate eating area. Inside was completely spotless with every amenity we could possibly need. The owner is extremely helpful polite and very friendly making our stay so easy and enjoyable. Having showers in both ensuites was perfect so everyone could get ready at the same time and the main bathroom had a bath and shower. The kitchen has a full size fridge with everything we possibly needed. Perfect location close to shops restaurants beach. Taxi and bus services all within short walking distance...air-conditioning is amazing....lovely and peaceful...perfect I cannot fault a thing....everything exceeded our expectations....absolutely amazing
- Lyndsey (9/5): Lovely villa - Excellent communication from host and villa was well equipped, spotless and furnished well.
- Christine (10/5): Excellent - Brilliant villa, had an issue with ants but nothing much you can do about these in the heat The outside kitchen which is in the garage, the fridge wasn’t great and didn’t keep food cold

- Teemu (10/5): Exceptional -
