Guest Reviews
- Evgeniia (6/5): -
- Lydia (4/5): Nice location, not accomodating to more than 2 people. - Good location and nice staff This should not be classed as a family room. The room has one double bed, and the other bed was a duvet on a bench. It was a very uncomfortable night sleep and for the second night we had to have 3 people in the double bed as the bench bed was just too uncomfortable.
The room was definitely for 2 people as they had only given pillows, water and towels for 2. Given the price of the room, I think it’s wrong to call it a family room and expect people to sleep on a wooden bench. Would not recommend booking if you have more than 2 people.
The hotel is quite hard to locate as it’s through a cafe which we weren’t expecting.
- Camelia (1/5): L’horreur - We booked for 4 people, and on the reservation it clearly states 2 single beds and 1 double bed. However, when we arrived, there were only 3 beds available, which is not normal at all.
Making us wait until 5:30 AM is completely unacceptable. In the end, we took our belongings and left because you kept making us go in circles the entire time.
One of our friends is diabetic, and you left him sleeping in the lobby on his suitcase. We cannot stay awake all night after booking and paying for accommodation for 4 people with 4 beds.
We even asked if it was possible to add another room, and we agreed to pay for it, but you refused.
At this point, it does not matter anymore. Please just refund us and end this situation. Une catastrophe
- Ann-Katrin (10/5): Lovely spot on top of a cute café - Comfortable, cute room. Loved the little windowsill tatami. Good location for exploring the city. Easy to reach from the airport. Very kind and patient staff. We had some issues with alipay for paying in the beginning but the lady who welcomed us was patient. On top of that they let us enter the room early, which was a god-send after a 10 hour flight with basically no sleep. For that alone we will be forever grateful 🥰
As a bonus, the café downstairs also had some great coffee.
- Nojung (10/5): Friendly&clean - they are very friendly, and They changed towel every day, cleaned our room, location is near wangfujing, it is convenient to go anywhere ! I want to book again if I go to trip bejing next time

Not far from the main road.
Charming part of the old town and old street.
Near the Forbidden Palace. Nothing.

- Nichanan Nimo (10/5): The hotel’s location was ideal and the staff very friendly and helpful. - The room was small but charming. Really liked it. The spiral staircase was a bit narrow. If you’re traveling with large suitcases, it can be a bit tricky. With a backpack, it’s all easy.
- Giovanni (7/5): Experience - Se volete fare un “experience” è perfetta…… La camera è per massimo due persone.
- TUDORESCU (9/5): -
- Lorenzo (10/5): Wonderful assistance when nothing worked regarding international cards, Asian payapps etc. - 5 minutes walk from the Dengshikou subway station, on a quite street. Lovely staff that even brought me on an electric bike to the nearest ATM machine.
- Robert (6/5): Very good location and friendly staff , but you shouldn’t be picky if it comes to size and cleanliness …. - The hotel is very centrally located, perfect to reach the forbidden city, Tiananmen Square etc. even by walking. Also the subway is reachable within 5 min of walking.
The staff was very friendly and even a check-in at 1 a.m. in the night was no problem. Communication was easy via WeChat The room and the bed was really small, the double-bed was 1.4 meters wide only. The mattress was horribly hard. The room floor and the bathroom was not really clean.
- Christoph (8/5): Stylish stay near the Forbidden City w/friendly café but minor room issues. - Excellent location in a Hutong right in the city center, about 20 minutes' walk to the Forbidden City. The interior is lovely with a Japanese touch, there's a convenient café on-site, rooms have air purifiers, and you can pay for your stay by credit card. No English spoken by staff, inconsistent payment options for drinks (cash or Alipay only), very humid rooms with damp bed sheets and towels, AC only in Chinese, some rooms have no windows, could be cleaner.
- Alexander (9/5): -
- Julie (7/5): Lovely - Location! The entrance is a quint cosy coffee shop. Lots of cute popmart figures around the coffee shop. Expensive
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Ilianna (9/5): Great Location with Charming Rooms and Friendly Staff - It is centrally located, with many restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are super cute, the WiFi is strong, and the staff are very kind.
- Matthew (10/5): Proper little gem! - Absolutely lovely stay at Chonggou Hotel Beijing! Just back from a smashing few days there. Honestly, the location is a proper hidden gem – tucked right into one of those gorgeous old *hutong* alleys. You feel miles away from the city racket, *dead* quiet at night. Yet, blink and you're practically at the Forbidden City's doorstep! Brilliant for exploring. Tube station's a doddle to find too, dead handy.
The place itself? Spotless. Not a whiff of anything dodgy, just clean and comfy. And the coffee! Blimey, that proper handcrafted stuff they do in the morning? Worth getting up for, seriously good. Proper barista level.
But what really made it were the staff. Such cheerful, helpful folks! Nothing was too much bother, always had a smile and great tips. Felt genuinely welcome.
All in all? Can't recommend Chonggou Hotel enough if you fancy a slice of *proper* old Beijing charm with zero hassle and a cracking cuppa (well, coffee!). Top marks. Cheers!

- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laiguo (8/5): Value for money & good location. - ideal location, convenient shop & restaurant is walking distance.
- Kip (7/5): Clean, friendly hotel in an historic hutong. - Great location in the historic part of Beijing. Nice cafe downstairs. The staff in the cafe and hotel were super friendly. Clean hotel! There are some areas that need some repainting/resurfacing. There are a few spots on the wall that could use some care. Not a dealbreaker, this place was clean! Just a suggestion for the future.
- Sharmaine (9/5): Safe, clean & convenient! - I really enjoyed my stay at refactoring space. The place seems to be run by an older lady and younger man - both of whom were very pleasant and helped me with my luggage, laundry (even though they didn’t have to) and parcel collection. The space felt safe for a solo traveller. It was clean, nice and cosy, with simple amenities like hair care, water & toothbrush. The location is approx 10mins away from the nearest train station but that’s not a problem because it’s a good way to walk off the food baby! There’s a family mart nearby and of course a cafe linked to the accommodation with decent coffee. Note there is no lift so you’d have to carry your luggage up if you’re on the upper floor. Also depending on the room it might face the small road which can be ever so slightly noisy if people are chatting downstairs. However overall I would rate this 10/10 and have no complaints :)
- Eduardo (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (7/5): Enjoyed - Nice and local place to stay Took a long time to find the place. The location should be clear
- Madeleine (8/5): Very good -
- Kahina (8/5): Very good - it’s so very conveniently located ! the staff are really nice as well the family room is not accommodating for more than 2, there is only one bed and a futon which was painful to sleep on. which wasn’t’ clear in the description. so for more than 2 book 2 rooms
- Andra (10/5): Great location to enjoy your trip to the fullest - Everything was great and we highly recommend this inn. The personnel goes out of their way to help you. When we arrived late at night and had a payment issue with our card, the girl at the reception insisted we go to our room and solve the issue in the morning, she was more concerned with us getting proper rest than with the payment. I thought that was very thoughtful and we did end up fixing the issue (which was our issue and had nothing to do with them).
The room is spacious, clean, quite modern, has all the amenities you need and they provide cleaning every day. We needed some laundry done and they helped us with that too.
The inn is in the cafe so that can be a little disconcerting when you get there, but go through the cafe and you will find a small reception. Their coffee is great though so that's a plus in the morning:-)
The location is quite traditional, in a hutong in a well known district and you can find a multitude of restaurants and shops all around, we tried some and were not disappointed. You even have a convenience store just around the corner! There are 2 metro stations within walking distance so the location is perfect.
Thanks to the hosts for the warm welcome and for making our stay in Beijing so comfortable!
- Freddie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (8/5): Cozy place to stay in Beijing - We Love The location! Good coffee and a quite place in such a big city
- Helena (10/5): Charming Coffee-Inn Experience with a Cozy, Modern Vibe - I truly loved the unique concept of combining a coffee shop with an inn—it's such a refreshing idea! The hotel’s aesthetic was beautiful, with a cozy and modern ambiance. The Japanese-inspired interiors gave the rooms a minimalist yet stylish touch. While the room was smaller than I anticipated, it was still very comfortable and well-maintained.
The staff were polite and very helpful, even though their English wasn't perfect—it didn’t stop them from providing great service. The location is another highlight—just a short walk to local restaurants, charming cafés, boutiques, a mall, and even the Forbidden City.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy, well-designed stay in a convenient and lively area. The hotel can be a little tricky to find at first since it's not located directly on the main road. A clearer signage or detailed directions would definitely help first-time guests.
- Mionne (8/5): Very good -
- O (8/5): Very good -
- Bryant (10/5): **Cozy Gem in the Perfect Beijing Spot** - This stay truly surprised me. The location couldn’t be better: a 10-minute taxi to the Forbidden City, yet tucked quietly in a traditional hutong where you’ll hear bicycles bells more than traffic. The Dengshikou subway station is just 7 minutes away, making exploring effortless.
The room felt like a warm, modern retreat – spotlessly clean, comfy bed, and a tea table with everything I needed. Bonus points for the cafe downstairs! Their lattes and butter croissants became my morning ritual.
What stood out most was the staff. The manager, Lily, helped me book hard-to-get museum tickets and even taught me a few local phrases. If you want to experience Beijing’s charm without sacrificing convenience, this place nails it. Will definitely return!
- Keira (10/5): A fantastic stay - would highly recommend! - Had a lovely 2 night stay here. The room was so spacious with nice decor. We had 2 big suitcases and there was still lots of room. The bed was a nice size and comfortable (we had a great sleep each night). Though the hotel is in a great location (only a 5 min walk to the metro), it's in a quiet location with no street noise. All the staff were so lovely, especially the lady at check-in and check-out. It was especially nice to have a delicious coffee in the cute downstairs café each morning. All in all, a fantastic stay - I would highly recommend! The stairs up to the rooms only because I had a heavy big suitcase with me so that was my own fault but just to warn anyone else that could be in a similar situation!
- Josephine (8/5): Lovely place - I could order coffee in bed from the cafe outside. What a treat. The description of the room by booking.com says it has 2 double bed. This is incorrect. The room has only one large double bed, and fits 2 person comfortably. If needed, a single mattress can be placed at the foot of the double bed, making the whole room extremely tight.
Just be aware of this.

- Hadar (9/5): Excellent stay in Beijing - Very nice and comfortable room, good location, nice coffee shop with excellent coffee. Friendly staff that did their best to help. Communication with the staff was a bit challenging - absolutely no English. The room needs some painting to be perfect.
- Martino (8/5): Very good - Nice cozy place in a convenient position. The staff is welcoming and kind, and the place has its own identity, a style that I liked. Overall my opinion is good and the price fair enough. My room would have improved with just some paint here and there and some more attention to details. And actually the position of the shower is a bit uncomfy with you having to overcome water on floor to get to the toilet.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - "OMG, Rebuild Space Hotel is awesome! Super convenient location - like, literally 10 minutes walk to the Forbidden City! Perfect for tired tourists! Subway stations everywhere too. The rooms are so clean and modern,Best part The lobby coffee shop serves REAL coffee - not that weird instant stuff. the baristas speak English! Pro tip: Grab a croissant before sightseeing. 10/10 would stay again! #BestHotelEver"
- Jiaxu (10/5): Perfect - A Wonderful Stay at Reconstruct Space Hotel (Beijing Tiananmen Wangfujing)
My family and I recently stayed at Reconstruct Space Hotel in Beijing, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were looking for a hotel that was not only comfortable but also conveniently located, and after discovering this one near Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, we immediately booked our stay. We were definitely not disappointed.
Perfect Location
The hotel's location is unbeatable! It's incredibly close to Beijing's iconic landmarks, like the Forbidden City, which we could reach in just a few minutes. The hotel is also only a 7-minute walk from the Dengshikou subway station, making it super easy to get around the city. The area around the hotel is bustling, with Wangfujing shopping street nearby, but it's still quiet enough to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. It's the perfect mix of convenience and tranquility.
Extremely Friendly Staff
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service from the hotel staff, especially Xiao Li. From the moment we checked in, he made us feel incredibly welcome. Whether it was helping us with directions, recommending restaurants, or simply making sure we had everything we needed, Xiao Li was always happy to assist us. His warm, attentive service really stood out and made our stay even more enjoyable. We felt well taken care of, and it made traveling with family feel even more special.
Comfortable and Well-Equipped Rooms
We booked a family room, and it was spacious, clean, and modernly designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, which was important after a long day of sightseeing. The room had all the amenities we needed, including free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and air conditioning, making our stay even more convenient. The bathroom was also spotless, with high-quality toiletries, and housekeeping kept everything tidy throughout our stay. I don't think there's anything that needs improvement; it's perfect.
- Rui (10/5): Perfect stay experience, highly recommended - I had the most wonderful stay at this charming guesthouse located in the heart of Beijing's core area, nestled within a traditional hutong. The atmosphere is rich with cultural heritage, offering a unique glimpse into the city's history while still providing modern comforts. The guesthouse itself is beautifully decorated, and the cozy café on the first floor is a perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee. The location is ideal, making it easy to explore local attractions. The warm hospitality and cultural vibe made my experience truly special. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Beijing's charm! 无
- Péri (7/5): Great, but check the number of the beds - Nice small specialty café near the city center of Bejing. Clean, new place with nice staff (who can't speak english). We booked for 4 adult and we got a room with a double bed and with a tatami. Finally they made tha tatami enough comfortable for 2 nights, but it was an unwanted present.
- Andreea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siaw (7/5): great stay, and will definitely recommend to others - great location, short walk to metro, plenty of bike rental around, convenient shops at the corner.
clean and great staff. we were allowed to check in early. Booking showed two double bed which actually one double bed and 2 single mattresses (thin) provided which make the room a little bit too small.
- Asantha (10/5): Excellent! - Thank you to all the staff there - they have been amazing! nothing
- Chantell (8/5): Very good - The room was really nice, Japanese style but maybe a bit small for our family of 4 with lots of luggage and teenagers. But was very clean and behind a cool coffee Shop. Location good for catching trains. Staff very helpful getting some laundry cleaned. Would recommend providing extra mattresses for the futon bed and pillows. Was a bit expensive for the size of the room.
- Vanisha (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely recommend to friends and family who travel to beijing. - Location was fantastic. Very easily accessible and easy to get to Wangfujing street
- Pri (8/5): Convenient well contained room. - I think the room was quite big. The location was great, there was a convenience store literally 30 seconds away and many restaurants 5 mins away.
The cleaner was really friendly, my room was cleaned everyday. All amenities were included. It was a little hard to find, they should've explained it was through the cafe.
The place needs a lick of paint, there is so much potential.
- Yan (10/5): Very clean, zen vibes, considerably spacious for the two of us. - This accommodation is located in the Central Area with a lot of food options nearby yet away from the hustle in a small alley (Hutong). Further hidden inside a cafe, which I felt very safe and exclusive. Staff members are super friendly and helpful to assist with enquiries, housekeeping and also some logistic issues. There is no lift access so will have to carry luggage up and down a little spiral staircase.
- Katsiaryna (9/5): Superb -
- Bastiaan (9/5): A beautiful hideaway in the nicest area of Beijing - Very beautiful and elegant rooms in Asian style hidden behind a lovely coffee shop in a typical Being Hutong street. Very small and boutique set-up. Very nice and helpful staff.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect, very close to two subway station. Girl at the reception was super cute, very funny and helpful. The hotel has no any sign so you just follow the main image. Also it’s a pretty coffee shop rich you have to go through to reach your room. Just was little confused when didn’t find any sigh for the hotel. Overall experience was very good / my room was, clean and stylish.
- Yash (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha, (10/5): Value for money for the location and staff. - Location is good and it’s about 10 mins walking distance from dong si subway station. Staff very friendly. Stayed here for almost a week , room was cleaned everyday before afternoon. Worth for the money paid. 1. Power tripped happened on last day of staying. Initially I was very unhappy as it wasnt solved for almost 10 hours. Did highlight to staff and they immediately arrange another room for me and apologized sincerely for any inconvenience caused. Attitude was good but perhaps next time can react as fast as possible.
2. Sound proofing not good. Can always hear downstairs people talking or your other room neighbour accidentally Bang their door.
3. No lift in the hotel but staff will help you to put your luggage on second floor.
- Nazanin (9/5): Superb - Its a nice space with great experience.
- Vernon (10/5): Exceptional - The quality of amenities is unbelievably good, the location of the hotel next to Dongsi Street is imo the best location in Beijing. The room was spacy, the cushions were ergonomic, and because of the mattress, I had one of the best sleeps from all the travels I did so far (I travel a lot). The hotel Manager is kind and friendly, hospitable and very motivated to learn more English or speak it better. There is a tea café in the lobby where you'll sure have your best tea cup in Beijing.
Highly recommended hotel and definitely staying there the next time I visit Beijing. Absolutely nothing!
