Guest Reviews
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms was great There was no staff to find
- Uhlig (9/5): Superb - Beautiful views . Loved the chalet.Very private. Excellent size pool
Perfect little get away. Bed was not very comfortable felt like it was slanting. We also had no contact with any staff and no ability to communicate to ask questions.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the atmosphere and the pool!!!!
- Janet (9/5): Beautiful views and peaceful stay. - A lovely chalet with exceptional views, great spa bath, a good layout. The pool is large and lovely to swim in. We enjoyed walking around the garden too. Shops aren't too far away ( in a car). Perhaps due to the time of year the pool and filters needed cleaning. The only downside of the chalet is that it doesn't have a kitchenette: there's nowhere to wash up any dishes or cups.
- Ilonali (10/5): Wake up with a spectacular sunrise - Beautiful chalet with an amazing view! Quiet location, easy parking, easy check-in, comfy bed, lovely breakfast, nice swimming pool, everything was clean, overall great spot!
- Ajith (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shikha (8/5): Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends - Absolutely gorgeous property with stunning views. We went as a couple and it was like a live nest for us Toilet roll was bad quality
Shower did not work properly
Windows need some shade from the sun
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yuvraj (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (4/5): Disappointing - Staff were responsive to the chat function and was a pretty easy drive to the blue mountains. Breakfast was given in the form of cereal and yogurt. The spa bath was really good too. No staff on site, presumably since it was a Sunday. The pool was full of dead bugs and tree debris. In the room, the air conditioning didn't work sufficiently meaning the room was very warm the entire time even with both of the fans on. The step to the bathroom from the living room was really irritating with us stubbing our toes, tripping over or just missing it basically every time. Finally, the floor was quite covered in dog and human hair especially on the rug. For the price of the room I wouldn't have expected this. If staff were around, we likely would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere mainly due to the lack of mountain view.
- Janaya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hammad (6/5): Pleasant -
- Helena (7/5): Great get away but needed a little more tlc to guests - It was a great get away for couples There was no one to greet us. There was no option to have dinner at the property. We even had to empty the pool cleaner a few times so it was clean enough to swim in. The breakfast which was included was very basic. Could have done with a bit of tlc with cobwebs Maybe a box of tissues. Maybe even a clean up around the property knowing they were expecting guests
- Angel (1/5): Unsafe - ,.. nothing it was the most Discusting run down place The police where involvement I called them as I was attacked by the maitence Man barged into my room and screaming at me and my service dog and threw my stuff on the ground outside because I make a complaint about no coverings on the bathroom window and the world could see in and the bedroom … they canceled my booking and treated me horrible and the assult and abuse was uncalled for it terrifying … I called the police as I didn’t feel safe after the maitence man attacked me with abuse and barged into my room unannounced yelling and screaming and Also threw my things to the ground - they still have not given me a refund bookings .com or the owner … no covering on the bathroom window so if you showing the whole world can see in also the bedroom… terrible experience on making a complaint then assulted and abused by the maitence man … police officers called
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Peaceful and comfortable - Views, gardens Bathroom felt a bit tired and worn
- Therese (10/5): Brilliant - The grounds and views are magnificent loved the accommodation and restaurant.
- Flashadele (8/5): We stayed there for our niece's wedding. Great spot. Idyllic surrounds and peaceful retreat - Set in an awesome location. Serene surrounding and peaceful at mnight. Stunning views from the chalets. Could not find the Light switches in the main bedroom. Noise from the fridge at night
- Neibi (9/5): Who could resist a spa bath with a view of both the rolling hills and a roaring fireplace! - We arrived past check in time but they left instructions for how to find the room. The loft bedroom and cathedral ceiling are really special and everything was clean and comfortable. Very cosy too in the cold mountains. The complimentary breakfast, although not technically continental, had coffee and cereal and was adorable and a really lovely touch. There was no info pack in the room so we were unsure of the wifi or what the checkout procedure was?
- Jenna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Anniversary stay - Spa was nice. Chalet was nice. Great location. Breakfast was a little disappointing
- Bobbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (3/5): Expected a good experience, got a stressful stay. - The location We booked a chalet through Booking.com after reading all the 5 star reviews on there and here.
I think we've come to realise the that most of the 5 stars are from wedding parties.
Firstly we were led to believe the booking includes breakfast, which it did, if you think a couple of small packets of cereal, a tub of yoghurt and a long life orange juice is a "continental breakfast". A far cry from the photos of eggs etc on the site.
Also reading the website we were expecting at least a bar or restaurant to be open on site, but no, not even someone to greet us, only a note on the door telling us where the chalet is and the key is in the door. So we had to go offsite to get some food, but of course there's no kitchen in the room, just a kettle and small fridge. On a sunday evening finding somewhere decent to eat was a challenge.
As for the chalet itself, it's kind of OK but not good. Thank goodness for the fireplace as the aircon can barely cope to keep it warm as the construction is uninsulated and its a big ceiling space. You could have kept the milk in the bathroom it was that cold.
The bed(s) were really uncomfortable despite the reasonably good bedding, we both had very uncomfortable sleep.
Make sure you bring a eye shade as there are minimal curtains.
The windows at the back do not have curtains at all and the outside lighting stays on all night for some reason. The front has transparent curtains on the lower windows but the upper windows are unshaded so you will be getting up with the sun. I've attached photos.
Generally the place feels a bit dilapidated. There's more style than substance here. The lounge is tiny, stained and uncomfortable, the other furniture is scant and cheap looking. The rug is looking really bad.
It feels a little like the early 2000s, the TV is a tiny screen with just the 5 channels, no other mod cons including the big kicker which I'll close on and underline NO WIFI!!!!
- Vicki (10/5): The views are fantastic and you felt so relaxed with the wood fire and a glass of red watching the sunset just so peacef - The views were fantastic it was so peaceful and relaxing only there one night but felt like I was there for a week so beautiful 😍 Restaurant was not open but had dinner at the local pub which great
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Kirralie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marilyn (8/5): Beautiful location and very restful - Beautiful location
- Jones (9/5): Superb -
- Nina (9/5): Super-villa for a large group - Peppercorn Ridge. - Travelling with a large group of friends or family your place to be is Peppercorn Ridge @ Loxley on Bellbird Hill. This villa of 9 bedrooms incl ensuites, large livingroom, patios and laundry-facilities locates in beautiful surroundings close to the Blue Mountains National park. As off-season travellers we especially enjoyed central heating. Personnel was ready to adapt to our needs on short notice. Continental breakfast did not meet European standards (including only cereals, milk and orange-juice).
There is a variety of cottages and villas at Loxley, also the level of apartments vary - choose wisely.
- Pritika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ferhat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (10/5): Amazing place highly recommend - Such a beautiful spot and place would highly recommend
- Jacob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (9/5): Cosy and comforting with a exceptional view! - We loved the view from our chalet. It was exceptional to watch the sunrise from the balcony! We loved the fire and the instructions on how to use it were very straight forward. The chalet was very cosy and comfortable and perfect for a night away! Also loved that amenities for breakfast/tea and coffee were provided- Thankyou so much! Smaller pieces of firewood for the fire- even though we managed to eventually get the fire going, it was difficult with the big logs we had left in the chalet.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Nice and quiet, far from traffic.
Loved the fire and the bathroom that can look over the hills still maintaining privacy
- Jane (8/5): Very good - The views, location and tranquillity.
- Sameer (9/5): Superb - location, cleanliness, amenities, surroundings were excellent. Breakfast could've had a couple more varieties.
- Sam (10/5): It was beautiful! We will definitely be back. - We loved the view. It was quiet. It was spacious yet cosy inside. The room was filled with lots of natural light. We liked sitting on the veranda in the morning eating our breakfast which was included in the price. We enjoyed the spa bath. Hubby got the fire started, I put out the nibblies and wine and we were set for the night :) There was no where to eat dinner on the premises. We didn't mind going out to get takeaway but I just felt like it would have been nice if there was a dining option.
- Chelsea (8/5): Beautiful views and romantic getaway - Beautiful views and the fireplace and spa made it feel luxurious. I felt it was a little overpriced if I had to pay full price. The Booking discount made it more appropriate.
- Amber (10/5): We will be back - The log fire and the spa, and the staff were very help full That’s the doors to the veranda from the spa didn’t fully open to see the view
- Wildman (10/5): Exceptional - When I went in the room there was a strong musty smell. Water in shower trickled out
- Allysann (9/5): Fabulous for the short time there!! - We were there for a very short time, but the service was fabulous and our room was clean! I would definitely recommend!!
- Debra (10/5): Beautiful location, very easy to access our chalet from function room, easiest check in and out - N/A Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bhavik (10/5): Lovely just need to have bit of clean up - Carpet is too dirty and there were spider webs a lot sofa were old
- John (5/5): Passable -
- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Renee (9/5): Superb -
- Roselyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Beautiful ❤️ - We had a wonderful stay, such a beautiful location, amazing place to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and Valentine's Day
- Saliha (9/5): Superb -
- Aliza (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (10/5): Perfect little getaway - Stacey let us check in early and promptly showed our chalet. The property itself is spectacular and the room was immaculate. Breakfast was also incredible. We are definitely staying again and highly recommend this place!
- Lynne (9/5): Superb -
- Josy (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Really loved it - I liked everything about the property and the stay - it provides a perfect city escape. The staff were lovely and so helpful and chatty and it was very clean, breakfast was phenomenal and delightful. Would be good if the bar and kitchen were open for guests! We would have gone to dinner and the bar there if this was the case but we understand as a wedding facility it’s not able to be done!
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
- Elisabeth (10/5): Great! - Breakfast was great. Accommodation was great. Super simple and nice. The light coming into the room!
- Linda (8/5): Beautiful views & vibes. Brilliant value for money. Would recommend! - Breakfast = Excellent. Yummo! Maybe some little biscuits with the coffee & tea?supplies. Our front door lock and lattice surrounds outside a bit old/rundown.
- Sharyn (8/5): Very good -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, secluded surroundings, comfortable, clean accommodation Wifi details - couldn't find them?
- Elaine (10/5): Great View and Swimming Pool - Great view, big breakfast and friendly staff There were a few of mosquitoes in the room. I was got bitten more than ten times overnight.
- Andrea (6/5): ticked my boxes - beautiful setting, quiet there was a electric scent diffuser with a rather penetrating scent. makes you think there is another unwanted smell..
The lauded and apparently great breakfast was only available after 9am, so for somebody who had to leave early there was no breakfast.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (9/5): Lovely location for a beautiful intimate family wedding - The food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the location was magical The only criticism was the grout in the bathroom was a bit dirty.in the shower and spa area. A bit of CLR would solve it and then it would be a 10. The Chalet was very romantic.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Kaylenne (8/5): Very good - We stayed for a wedding on the premises. Room was good with a great view. Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): Overall lovely stay. - Beautiful service, location & premises. Bed was very firm.
- Blair (8/5): Very good - Great set up and views Missing that personal touch, that little bit extra detail that some places put in
- Donna (9/5): The stay was delightful, peaceful, stunning and very enjoyable. - The views were stunning and the chalet was gorgeous. The room service breakfast was a treat When we arrived there were lots of groups doing taste testing on the property so reception level car park was full. To get to reception from lower car park was a mission. We also had a couple walk into our chalet whilst hubby and I were on the balcony because they were told they could view the rooms for potential future bookings. I guess in hindsight we should’ve locked the front door but we weren’t expecting strangers to just walk in.
- Anonymous (9/5): 9/10 can’t wait to go back - Beautiful property, so peaceful, we will be back The property was perfect
- Kelly (10/5): Just lovely. - It is a beautiful venue especially for a wedding which is why we were there. Gorgeous views and great staff.
All round great experience
- Fadi (9/5): Superb - scenic view , breakfast, and specious chalet Some dead flies, spider nets, and the office were closed in the morning when I wanted to check out, so I had to leave the key in the chalet's door
- John (10/5): Perfect - Everything
The staff couldn’t be more helpful
- Caroline (8/5): Great overnight getaway - Loved the fireplace & breakfast the next morning The fireplace didn’t seem to heat the whole chalet
- Terry (10/5): We’re so grateful to Loxley for such an amazing day for our daughters wedding - everything was perfect. - The chalet was lovely, the view and property were stunning. The staff are amazing and the food was incredible
- Vanessa (9/5): Superb -
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harrison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elise (8/5): Great location, excellent room facilities and yummy brekkie - Location, room facilities, breakfast included In my opinion the bed is too hard therefore not comfortable
- Lucy (9/5): A beautiful, cozy getaway - My mother and I had a wonderful stay here - beautiful grounds, lovely room and delicious breakfast. Very peaceful and cozy. The fireplace came with firewood which was great, and the bath was very relaxing. Nothing
- Kylie (7/5): It was a good place to get away to. - The location was great and the chalet was nice. The property used to be more well maintained. It was still OK, but it has definitely declined. I think there is a lot of work to be done to get it up to a 4 star rating. E.g., fix potholes and make the car park neater, pick up all the bits and pieces laying around the property, fix broken lights around the property, clean cobwebs everywhere, change the doors and windows, make sure diffusers in chalets work, etc.
Check out time could be a little later like 11am. We personally didn’t receive our breakfast (hot component) until after 9.30am and when I asked to check out a little later the answer was no.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the engagement of the staff. Really helpful and engaging. Loved the fact the fire place was set ready to light.
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - The little imperfections as the property ages adds to the charm of a non sterile, cosy and comfortable stay. The A-frame style suites with amazing views looking back towards civilisation gives it such a home type feel while reminding you that you are on a break from the chaos off in the distance. The fireplace in the rooms gives magical ambience and warmth as you watch the distant glistening of that place you left behind for a while. Railing on the balcony could use a touch of repair. Other than that, I can’t fault the place.
- Sarah (10/5): Relaxing, cosy accommodation with a wonderful breakfast included - It was a comfortable, cosy little Challet with an amazing fire place or air con if a fire isn’t your thing. Wonderful view day and night.
And a big highlight was the hot and cold breakfast bought to the room.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
