Guest Reviews
- Heather (8/5): - Location, situation, deck, character
- Tammy (6/5): Bedding and bed very clean, view was good beautiful - The location was excellent , view was awesome. The low ceilings, paint job on windows, needs updating badly
- Mike (9/5): Amazing time here with friends and family. - Perfect setting, great price.
- Perry (8/5): Very good - Location A++++
Charming rustic cottage - had everything we needed to have a pleasant stay. was difficult to find. even with the instructions. Perhaps a couple of pictures would help.
- Cullihall (1/5): SMELLS LIKE MOLD AND MILDEW!!! PLEASE AVOID!!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! - NOTHING!! Absolutely everything could have been better! We didn't feel safe staying at the place due to the mold smell so I contacted the owner to let them know we didn't feel safe staying there. She said nobody else has a problem. We had to find last minute alternative accommodations so I asked if I could get a refund and she said no refunds for cancellations. I told her I did not cancel, it was not safe for us there. I have been trying for several weeks to get a refund but she simply ignores me. If you can't handle damp musty, mold and mildew smells, then stay away from this place.
- Jay (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (7/5): Loved the view and use of the deck. Very Rustic. - Location and deck was great. No games or books. Screens didn’t fit windows. Local information about sites to see or places to eat would have been nice to have.
- Linda (9/5): Superb - I was pleasantly surprised that I had reserved a whole house in a very tiny village. Throughout my time in Atlantic Canada I had admired the old character houses and now I got to stay in one!
There are three bedrooms, and the biggest bathroom I have ever seen upstairs. On the main floor is a laundry room, kitchen dining, and sitting room. A lovely back deck and fire pit overlooking the Cove.
Wish we could have stayed longer but itinerary did not make that possible. There is no air conditioning but fans are provided.
The tiny community of around 20-year round inhabitants was having their hottest day and the water was turned off for several hours to conserve the communal well water. We weren't able to take advantage of the on-site washing machine.
Great communication with the home owner throughout - and the friendly neighbours checking we had enough water.
- Barbara (1/5): Bad -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Very happy - Location
- Friesen (8/5): Lovely place to spend a few nights - View and restaurant so close by Low ceilings
- Karen (8/5): Beautiful spot and view! - Beautiful spot and a cute little house. Great views of the ocean! Lighting - none of the lamps had bulbs or were working. We blew a fuse even though we followed directions. It would have been nice to have a little bit more information, as well as some light bulbs and fuses provided. The information could have explained what to do if a fuse was blown, how to heat the home (using the baseboard heaters; were we allowed to use the wood and wood stove?), and nearby hikes or sites.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional - The view and facility to have a campfire.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glyn (8/5): Great Value - Location was superb as were the gardens No complaints
- Pamela (10/5): Awesome sunsets and incredible night skies to watch the stars with comfy beds - The views from the deck were awesome; the purity of looking at the stars at night was incredible. I have never seen so many stars before. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the views from two of the bedrooms (from the beds) was unbelivable. Imagine waking up in the morning to look at the ocean. The house is old and reminded me of my childhood as it had so many similarities to my grandparents' home. The ceilings are about 7 feet and I loved this as it is typical of older Newfoundland homes. The bathroom was large and well appointed but on the other hand the kitchen was on the small side; however, it wouldn't prevent me from going back again. Simply put, we loved it! I felt very relaxed at the end of our four-day stay.
- Iona (10/5): Exceptional -
