• Juul (7/5): Mooie plek, prachtige omgeving - Prachtige lokatie, mooie omgeving. Het grootste huis is echt mooi. Het zwembad is leuk, alleen was het water wel echt koud. Daardoor hebben we maar 1 keertje gezwommen. Ik denk dat je van deze lokatie veel meer kunt genieten in het voorjaar en de zomer. We zaten hier met oud & nieuw. De woning was echt heel erg koud. De kachel moest echt aan om het een beetje warm te krijgen. We hebben dag en nacht thermo ondergoed gedragen.

• Tessa (6/5): Leuk weekend gehad, maar het voldeed niet aan onze verwachtingen. - De locatie en de natuur; Leuk verblijf, gezellig om met familie te verblijven en een mooi Domein. We hebben een fijne tijd gehad samen (familie) in huisje Wonderland, maar de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding viel helaas tegen. Voor €954,- (2 nachten, incl. Genius-korting) verwacht je dat alles goed in orde is. Het huisje was verouderd en de houtkachel werkte niet goed: de schuifjes waren lastig te bedienen en er kwam rook het huis in. Het Domein zelf was mooi, maar het oogde allemaal wat verouderd. Ook liep één van de doucheputjes niet goed door waardoor je niet langer dan 3 minuten kon douchen omdat het water niet wegliep. We hebben meerdere keren gebeld (gastheer zou gastvrouw informeren) en via Booking.com bericht gestuurd, maar kregen geen reactie. Pas bij het uitchecken spraken we de gastvrouw (wel taalbarriere omdat wij geen frans spreken en zij geen nederlands of engels. Zij heeft de kosten voor de vroege check-in (€40) netjes kwijtgescholden. Dat was attent, maar jammer dat er tijdens het verblijf geen contact was. De doorslag om deze accommodatie te kiezen waren de goede beoordelingen, maar onze ervaring was iets anders. Met beter onderhoud en communicatie zou dit een mooie plek kunnen zijn, maar nu was het verblijf de prijs niet waard.

• Mireille (9/5): Idéal pour une mise au vert en famille. - Magnifique jardin dans une magnifique campagne, verte et pulpeuse. Hôte friendly et sympathique, animaux à admirer ou caresser, et une redoutable écurie de go karts pour les petits. Et un excellent petit déjeuner. Et un calme nocturne absolu. Le lieu est peut-être un peu humide . C’est l’Ardenne quoi :)

• Jacob (10/5): A wonderful discovery in the heart of the Ardennes. We were so happy, we did not want to leave. - We are frequent travellers and honestly: this place is just wonderful. Discrete luxury without the frills. Location is top - some of the cutest villages surrounding. Close to a little village w good food and local delicacies; but still exclusive and outside, secluded among the trees and with a magnificent view on the valley and mountains. The hosts - and their cute dogs, rabbits, cats, and donkeys - are lovely and present whenever you need them. The facilities were 100 pct: the house was spacious, tastefully decorated and calm; the huge swimming pool which we mostly had to ourselves to the delight of the kids; a huge outside areas where the kids were safe and happy playing on the premises. We mostly cooked ourselves so can even vouch for the functionality of the fully-equipped kitchen. People often seem to make up stuff to fill out this box. But why complain? This place is heaven. In fact we should not even be telling you about it...

• Chantal (10/5): Great family holiday - Karl and Aurore are fantastic hosts, we felt welcome and cared for. The kids loved it, with the beautiful surroundings, the pool, the animals, the outdoor playground and skelters.

INSECTS IN THE BEDROOM We reported it to the owner, she came to the bedroom with me, and she did not even know how to spot them. They could have at least comped us the breakfast (which comes at the hefty price of 18€ pp) but instead nothing was done to make it up to us. We had to wash and dry clean everything once home.

• Marsha (7/5): Nice photos but execution is meh - The property feels cosy and has some quirky characteristics. The bedroom window overlooking the green forest is wonderful, and the attic bedroom is probably an adventure for kids. Same for the little carve out couch in the wall in the living room, which is a cosy seat. The bathroom had a spa tub with a view over the same green space which looked wonderful. We liked that we had the possibility to rent a barbecue so that upon arrival we could just spend some time with our family. It may also be good to know that pepper, salt and matches are available upon request. There are also dishwasher tablets and kitchen towels present. There is space to offload baggage from the car in front of the property, but parking is at the entrance to the property which means you don’t have any cars in sight. For kids there is all kinds of entertainment such as a football field, bow and arrow and carts. We ordered a French breakfast one morning which was quite nice, and comes with jam, chocolate sprinkles, milk, juice, big croissants and pains au chocolat. Some reviews mentioned the dog on the property. While the dog is indeed big, it is the sweetest dog. It may also walk onto your terrace and come check you out. We had to watch the dog as it wanted to lick my niece’s face, but it was fun to play fetch with it. While the property looks cosy, the finishing is not great. I cut my hand with the steel wires that stick out of the shower handle of the bath tub. The bath tub also had very weak water pressure making it difficult to use it as a shower. Since we were with 6+1 small child, shower coordination therefore became a bit cumbersome. The main bathroom has 2 sinks, of which one did not have hot water. The second bathroom with the shower does not have a door and is an open walk-in concept in the attic bedroom, which does not have a door either. The bedroom therefore becomes quite damp, especially if you use that one shower with a family of 6. There seemed to be water leaking from the shower into the toilet below, which came out of the wall. There is an induction cooking plate in the kitchen. The buttons allow for heating as well as a timer, which is not very intuitive. My sister in law called the owner to ask how to use it, who could not advise either. Ultimately, I was able to find a manual online, but it would be better to have a user guide in the house. Since you are in a green area you should expect some bugs. The bedroom with the window looking out over the green space also has ants. On the plus side, those ants did clean away dead bugs. While we understand that green space comes with bugs, there are large spider webs in the living room that have been there a very long time, with dust hanging from them. The floor was not very clean either - our socks became very dirty. There is a 5-year old girl living on the property who is absolutely wonderful and well-mannered. However, we were looking to have some private time with our family, and at some point it felt we were babysitting the owner’s child. She spent several hours wanting to play with my 1-year old niece, running into the cottage we rented and unboxing the toys we brought for my niece.

• Katejakobsen (9/5): Superb - Everything else;-) Beds on top floor were a bit firm for my taste, but the kids loved them. Pool walls were a bit slippery with algae. But water temperature was nice and pool size was long enough to swim laps.

• Pgermaine (9/5): Beautiful property in the Ardennes - highly recommended for groups - so many fun things to do - archery, pool, goo karts, football, animals. the property was beautiful, from the patio you had a gorgeous view and it was lovely to just walk around the property. walking distance to a cute village and driving distance to bouillon and some nice hiking. good stargazing. well equipped kitchen. really nice vibes. hosts were kind. would definitely recommend for a fun and peaceful weekend away with family or friends! the top floor rooms of the 4-bedroom weren't very comfortable in design/facilities or space - definitely suited for kids rather than adults. toilet was 3 flights down. also would be great to offer fans during heat waves. oven needs checking, doesn't close properly, and the sink needs a strainer thing as it kept clogging
