Marie (8/5): I would definitely stay again but bring packing cubes for organising clothes (& toilet rolls!) - Great space, maddening details The suite itself is genuinely impressive, beautiful fixtures and fittings, a massive bathroom, a lovely bedroom, very comfortable bed and lounge that all feel very high end. I have been lucky enough to stay in some excellent hotels all over the world and this was up there with the best. The bar area is a real highlight, especially the hot and cold tap which is a great touch. The master kill switch next to the bed is genius, all hotels should have one! The controls were very easy to use but could have done with a few more options. Shower was awesome. Room service food was excellent but very limited menu. Maybe small points but such a shame they spent all that money and didnt get the practical details right. No usable drawers. Anywhere in the suite, not in the bedroom, bathroom, or in the massive dressing room. No desk or dressing table either. Very lilmited hanging space, so we ended up living out of our suitcase the whole time, which in a suite this size is a really strange call. The bathroom had single-ply toilet paper, one spare roll, and no toilet brush. How exactly are you supposed to clean the toilet! The toilet sits right next to the bed, the big impressive sliding doors into the bathroom don't lock and neither does the glass toilet door, which also does absolutely nothing for sound insulation. If they had just swapped the shower cubicle with the toilet it would have been heaps better. Bath sheets would have been more luxurious than bath towels - just saying! Air con in the bedroom and lounge had to be set the same, not ideal when they're separate rooms. The sofa was uncomfortable without piling half the bed pillows on it. Lighting was either soft or bright with no way to turn individual lights on or off independently. Sound proofing from outside is actually good, until there's an event on and you can hear the bass thumping right through the room. The corridor is a different story, every door opening and closing is clearly audible, but it wasn't that busy so bearable. House keeping was generally good only one day it was very sloppy. The carpet is very loud! Room service menu was very very limited. Never seen anything like it in all my travels. However, the food we ordered was great and mainly arrived piping hot except one breakfast.

Ingrid (8/5): Great Stay - We had a fantastic stay. The location was absolutely amazing — close to everything and very convenient. The hotel itself was nice, clean, and well maintained, which made the whole experience really comfortable and relaxing. Staff were friendly, and overall it was a great place to stay. Would definitely come back again. The only downside was the shower pressure — it was honestly terrible. Everything else was great though.

Margaret (8/5): I did have a lovely stay - The option to use the mini bar however I did not realise that it was complimentary until we left as the receptionist did not mention tohis to me however the receptionists who served my other family members had told them The towels were thready and thin which was disappointing in an otherwise beautiful bathroom. The threads were actually hanging down from the towel that I used.

Amanda (10/5): What a fabulous place to stay! Lucky Brisbane - A Star indeed. What a perfect hotel for a staycation for locals, an urban oasis for coastal visitors and a central hub for business or international travellers. Whatever opening hiccups they may have had two years ago have been ironed out. A great place to celebrate, eacape, or hibernate It definitely needs a boutique in the lobby, similar to the one in the Powerhouse, but with access to prextical purchases - part chemist part boutique. Once you are ensconced at The Grand, you don’t really want to go ‘up town’ for anything you may have forgotten.

kathryn (8/5): A lovely first time stay at The Star, perfect for a weekend escape! - Lots to love about the property. It’s very well laid out, with spacious rooms and a great overall feel. There are plenty of options for eating and drinking, which made it really convenient. The views from our room were absolutely fabulous, and small touches like the ice machines on each floor were a great bonus. The pool area was also a highlight and a really enjoyable space to relax. The sky deck could use more tables and chairs, as it was hard to find a place to sit at times. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t very cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable, and the beds weren’t as comfortable as expected.

Jennelle (1/5): - I was given contaminated water in the hotel room. I was provided a sealed water bottle that I opened during the night. It tasted terrible and it was only after consumption did I see it was a different colour. I felt nauseous and had a headache for 2 days. Management won’t provide me with a copy of the independent report I requested. They said I wouldn’t understand it and couldn’t give me a copy. I am disgusted by the behaviour of this company. They acknowledged the water was a bad batch but no report or update on how it won’t happen again

Ryno (9/5): Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. - The hotel’s location is one of its standout features, making it an excellent choice for anyone visiting Brisbane. It is conveniently situated within easy walking distance of major public transport options, allowing seamless travel around the city. Many of Brisbane’s key attractions, dining spots, and shopping areas are also close by, which makes exploring the city both simple and enjoyable. The rooms themselves are equally impressive. They are generously sized, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind after a day out. The design is sleek and contemporary, with a modern aesthetic that feels both stylish and comfortable. Overall, the combination of a prime location and well-appointed, spacious rooms makes for a very pleasant and convenient stay. While we appreciated the gesture of receiving complimentary drink vouchers, we were unfortunately unable to make use of them. The sports bar where they could be redeemed is located at the casino area, which is restricted to adults, meaning it wasn’t accessible for those of us traveling with children. It might be worth considering offering these vouchers for use at the reception-area bar instead, as this space is accessible to all guests and would allow everyone to enjoy the benefit.
