Guest Reviews
- Hannah (10/5): Absolutely beautiful. What a special place in such a stunning part of the world! - Loved the beautiful claw foot bath and the super comfy bed!
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Kyle (10/5): Time slows down on Bruny and 'The Hide' is as special as they come. Perfection. - Location is 10/10. Just an amazing spot that makes you feel at one with nature. The bath infront of the glass doors is perfect. Plenty of wildlife around which adds to the experience. We had the best sunset that topped our day off!
- Hore (10/5): - An amazing quiet private place. The location is stunning. We loved the cozy fire, and the outside shower. The highlight however was the fresh warm sour dough loaf in the mailbox every morning. Nothing..
- Kathryn (10/5): 100% relaxed and nurtured in the space, by nature and our generous hosts Jenene and John. Couldn’t ask for more. - It was comfortable and peaceful. Nothing. It was ideal.

- Scott (10/5): - A beautiful place, quiet, secluded with a great view The fresh bread is a beautiful touch, but it arrived a couple of minutes before we left and so didn't get a chance to enjoy it.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Location is beautiful. Hosts were helpful and gave lots of info and help before arrival.
Everything was in its place, and the bread delivered in the morning just made my day.
Would have loved to stay longer, and will do so in the future. whats not to like
- simon (10/5): A great place to escape to - fantastic accommodation deep into nature - A beautifully quiet spot to be immersed in nature but in the most comfortable accommodation - fantastic treats daily from the Bruny Baker Could do with some form of awning between the living accommodation and bathroom when the weather is at it’s worst
- Diane (10/5): A luxurious rural retreat - The location is exceptional
- Kate (8/5): Good overall. - Location Hadn’t realised the bathroom was seperate.
- James (10/5): -
- Bailey (10/5): - An idyllic location nestled in rugged landscape, with beautiful accomodation - homely and serene. We enjoyed a cold winter night by the fire, then watched scarlet robins and superb fairy wrens flit about as we enjoyed a delicious delivery of hot bread for breakfast from our hosts, with homemade raspberry jam and local coffee. The whole stay was perfect, we just wish we could have stayed longer!
- Callum (10/5): Stunning views , quiet location, beautiful accomodation. The bath was lovely and the bed so comfy -
- Carolyn (10/5): Lovely location, gorgeous accomodation with thoughtful touches. Exceptional hosts. -
- Celeste (10/5): Stunning location, private, hidden gem!! - The view from the accommodation and the access to the waterfront was exceptional. Loved the outdoor shower. All the comforts were thoughts of, including a picnic blanket. The delivery of fresh sourdough for breakfast… the best! Thanks for a beautiful stay at your property. Nothing

- Michèle (10/5): The Perfect Getaway - The stunning location and a beautiful, cozy cabin were perfect and such a nice break. Absolutely everything was thought of and high quality, but nothing was in excess - which we loved. The bread was also delicious and we bought an extra loaf for our trip home. We would have loved to stay longer and will be making the trip to Tassie, just to stay at the Hide again - a truly magical experience. Just perfect!
- Vaughan (10/5): A really relaxing, super comfortable, special and memorable break away. - Super comfortable and the hosts have literally thought of everything. We wished we were staying longer!
- Natasha (10/5): - The Hide is absolutely beautiful, would recommend to anyone! We really enjoyed our stay and wished the weather was kinder to us like it was as we were leaving Bruny Island! The sourdough delivery was a highlight and incredible, so fresh and soft 🩷
- Seino (7/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Perfection. - Solitude with an amazing view. A snug hideaway to relax, recharge and renew.
- Kellie (10/5): Beautiful, romantic stay - perfect for a relaxing getaway as a couple. - Whist it was a little expensive for 1 night, it was absolutely beautiful. (I guess you get what you pay for - as it was good!) The hosts were efficient and the place was tidy. Check in and instructions were easy and not complicated. The facilities had everything you need. We bought wine and cheese platter and just laid around talking and admiring the view. The bathtub was heaven! Comfy beds, good location and such a nice surprise to wake up to warm bread delivered. It's not that we didn't like it, just the only shower was outside and it was way to cold, so bath it was for us. We'd also have enjoyed some board games. Overall, really nothing not to like and I'd recommend staying here to any couple.
- Jonathan (10/5): Unbelievable views, location, serenity, hospitality and comfort - The location, views and property are unbelievable. The bath is the best thing ever and the short walk down to the waters edge where you can shuck your own oysters off the rocks and enjoy them with the supplied picnic blanket and basket was all time. The bread delivered fresh in the morning was also incredible. A bit cold going to the bathroom at night as you have to walk outside!

- llosas fechino (10/5): Amazing! Must do tassie experience - It was super neat and clean. Also cozy and well designed! The host was the best he brought us some fresh bread that was “the best sourdough we had in our lives” (quoting my partner) also the place is located perfectly for anyone that would love to wake up to an amazing view! We will be recommending it for sure as it made our stay in tassie magical!
- Chris (10/5): -
- Kieran (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (9/5): Gorgeous, picturesque retreat - The view is absolutely gorgeous, particularly the sunset. The bathtub is perfect and the outdoor shower was so refreshing. We went at the end of May and although the weather was brisk, the water pressure for the outdoor shower was so great and made it so refreshing.
The hosts are very responsive and delivered us freshly baked bread which was so lovely and warm.
We loved the fireplace (although my hubs accidently touched the door and burnt himself but they do have a first aid kit which was great), the selection of books and tartan blankets. Unfortunately I couldn't get on board with the toilet being separate and outside of the main living space. It was however clean.
- Tia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location. Felt very private and remote while being easy to get to from Hobart. Really thoughtful touches to make the stay super cosy and comfortable. Bath tub and fire were definitely a highlight in the winter. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to explore Bruny.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronwyn (10/5): a peaceful secluded slice of heaven in brunny - the most beautiful cabin I’ve ever stayed in, fantastic location, attention to detail, we had everything we needed. thank you for setting the the fire and the delicious bread
- Mem (10/5): A small slice of heaven on earth—just breathtaking. - What an incredible view. Incredible space. Everything about the Hide is so considered and welcoming. Quite legitimately our new favourite place. More wildlife!!! Hard to encourage but true. Only saw turbos around, and maaaaaybe a quoll in the twilight. And potentially a slightly longer welcome note—we didn’t find the marshmallows until we were checking out 🥺
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. The fire was built and ready to light. The bread was amazing.
Perfect place
- Felicia (10/5): Bliss - The most incredible place we have stayed. The serenity, being surrounded by nature, the view. It was so beautiful. We had homemade sourdough delivered to us in the morning by the host. The Hide is truly special. Just wish we had stayed longer. Nothing.

- Jamie (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful with a touch of naughty - Everything it was perfect There was nothing to NOT like
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic hosts, beautiful setting in an amazing location, and the bread!!
- Grant (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and the hide itself was amazing from the outdoor shower to the indoor bath. Then the fresh sourdough delivered in the morning topped off an amazing stay Nothing
- Tze (8/5): Still a very nice place for retreat anyway😊 - Situated near a nice and tranquil environment. We encountered the Tasmanian devil twice along the access road. Mikey is such an adorable and friendly pet. Tooo hot during day time, need to dine on the rusty table outside the house on the balcony. The expected freshly baked sourdough did not turn up in the mailbox despite I left a message to the host’s son concerning delivery if sourdough. Fortunate that the weather was fine, otherwise may need an umbrella and thick clothings before one can use the toilet which is situated outside the house
- Josie (10/5): Exceptional - The personal touches and unique experiences Nothing it was perfect
